Many people were dissatisfied with the product quality, citing frequent and severe mechanical issues, especially with engines failing prematurely. I will certainly reconsider buying a Kia again because of the service dept.

I will certainly reconsider buying a Kia again -not because it's a bad car but because of the service department. Years ago, the service department was excellent and they would always want us to to complete a survey. Fast forward, for years now it's hard to get an appointment and if you do, its weeks away. Then, to get a supervisor to call back is not going to happen. I have called five times to try and talk to someone today.

Gunther Kia Motors Service Warrantee…

Gunther Kia Motors Service Warrantee Failure/Bait and Switch-0 Stars
Caveat Emptor- Beware Gunther Kia Motors in Ft. Lauderdale. Warrantee meaningless and Bait and Switch. This is all over my 2022 KIA Sportage. Thus begins my nightmare on both Bumper to Bumper Warrantee which refuses to take care of a defective paint job from the factory. We won't discuss the fact that the cars defroster does not work and it is a danger and safety hazard.(As well as the disgraceful way the company does business and uses bait and switch to get you in and lies in WRITING-along with pictures. a 4.30 hr nightmare which resulted in nothing done).
My car is 16 months old, has 8000 miles when these spots began to appear-(none of my neighbors have this, I owned a repair and restoration shop and have never seen this on a relatively new car). We washed and waxed it-and nothing. We made a call to Gunther where we have purchased several cars inc. this one and was told "bring it in and we'll see what we can do". I leased this car new with a full warrantee. I had no doubts it was covered. I was wrong. Without checking warrantee, calling over anyone to look at the car we were told it was ENVIRONMENTAL and not covered by the Warranty. No trees, 30 yrs here with no problems with paint on new cars or older ones either...and a background in Car Restoration.
Part 2 of Saga. When we made the appt. we were contacted by Natalia Arenas who offered to take back our 2022 and give us a 2023 she had on the lot (with picture) with no money down and ,same payments, same terms.. My husband a H.S. English Teacher asked her this several times-and her answer was in writing- no money down, same payment, same exact terms with all new warrantees ,3yr lease on a brand new Kia. (They have done this before). She made an appt w/ the salesperson we had before.. We kept this appt. while bringing in our car for service.
They suddenly didn't have the car or any LX's and the new car would cost more . We just left-not happy with bait and switch and the lies in WRITING.-went to see bout fixing our car and when the service manager Ryan Stoltz refused to offer any assistance other than -we have to pay for a claybar detail!- I offered to show my car to several customers telling them please look before you purchase. This was AFTER WAITING OVER AN HOUR for the GM who was also the person who sold us our first 2 cars when he was salesman (and in the 4.5 hrs we were there although we were told he was in the break room and texted,. called, never showed his face.) The Sale manager called us in and offered us a "deal"-not the one in the letter mind you. Telling us people were offering to pay OVER STICKER PRICE so we were fortunate he could get us in for a low down on this new car and pay 50-60 more and of course extend our lease. Our original lease for our 2020 was now going to be for 6 yr lease -they were not being as kind as they let on.After over 4.5 hrs from when we got there, calling our agent and having the registration and insurance transferred and the binder sent we were "informed" that we now needed 100/300 bodily injury ad to call our agent back. I said I have a 2022 out there and haven't need the 100/300 for all the years I leased from Kia. back when I first leased in 2000 this was a ". thing".The Salesperson said new law- I said show me.I am a Realtor and write contracts and disclosures. The Manager said "you could be audited if they find out(was this a veiled threat?). I said show me the disclosure and they said this is the way it is. I called my agent and asked her and she said she has Never seen this on Kia's Toyotas, etc.only on luxury vehicles. No one would would show us proof ,NO disclosure was given on their ads, their correspondence and now after 4.5 hrs, after 5 cars from them and never hearing this and them seeing our insurance each time-after pulling all our property from our car, after waiting in a lobby for the Joshua Clinton for over an hr and being told he left/ran/was n a meeting, having lunch ,etc. we left with the car you see above, no oil change, no fixing the defroster ,nothing. BEWARE- This is going to Trust Pilot, BBB, Consumers affairs(Dept. of Agriculture), Twitter, tik Tok and all over FB. People ought to be advised.

This is a Caveat Emptor notice on…

This is a Caveat Emptor notice on Gunther Kia in Fort Lauderdale - what an awful experience we had there yesterday - note that we have been clients of them since 2011(our current Kia Sportage is the 5th auto we have leased from them) and this is how they treat people: I had scheduled an oil change per the schedule of maintenance, and I received a notice from their internet sales manager indicating they were eager to have me trade in my current auto for a new lease(which I had done in May of 2021 for my current Kia) and I made it CRYSTAL CLEAR that NO money would be coming out of my pocket to do this exchange - I received written confirmation from her that they would honor this - so, we get to the dealer, and in the interest of being transparent, I pointed out 2 issues with our current lease vehicle: 1. the paint is oxidizing and the vehicle will need to be repainted by them 2. the defroster never worked correctly - the service person, whom I have known for over 10 years, told me it was 'environmental' and that I would need a 'clay bar' detailing to remove the spots, at my expense - I was appalled by his uncaring attitude, so we moved on to the sales department where things went from bad to worse - Auto Sales people seem to have major credibility issues, so lying was expected, but when they told me that they did not have the model for direct exchange, but had the model 'one up' from mine, we decided to explore and see what they would do - 3 hours later, after viewing and driving it, we decided that for another 51 bucks each month, that it would be ok(even though they lied about not being able to get the other model - when pressed by my wife and I, the general manager finally looked and said he had some coming into the dealership in October - we did not trust this to really happen, so we proceeded with the paperwork on the new vehicle, but, AFTER they received the rider from our Insurance company, they came back and said we had to up our insurance coverage WITHOUT A WRITTEN DISCLOSURE(it was printed on the back of our bill, but did not apply to our current vehicle) so after this lie, we got up and walked out - what a #$%^@&g waste of nearly 5 hours of our time - avoid this dealer - I have already filed a consumer complaint with the corporation and expect to hear from them on Monday - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GUNTHER KIA!!!!!

dont buy kia

dont buy kia. i bought 2017 sorento (recall model) car wont turn on around 80000 miles it took me about 6 weeks to get it repaired. i had to rent out a car for more than a month, pay all the expenses from my wallet.the repair came out around 1300$ and they gave me $100 off because they finished the repair and didnt notify me or answer any of my calls and messages. when they fixed up the car. some parts were missing and there was oil stains on the side of the passenger side. they completely ignored the stains and said they cant do anything about that and will call the part department for me because there was no one in the part dept helping out customers. the part department said they need to replace the whole set of parts and i need to speak with the advisor.and this is still on goijg problem that i need to solve with them. and probably would need to physically stop by the dealership because its impossible to getnin contact with any advisor through the phone. kia needs to hire more people if they are short on man power. Getting to the Point. Kia after service is Horrible. your waiting time will be more than a month if your car breaks down and it will break down before 100000 miles

I have 2021 Kia Sorento with a bumper…

I have 2021 Kia Sorento with a bumper to bumper warranty. The trim around all the windows have faded from black to grey. They will not warranty the items. The dealership claims its not there problem. ECP was applied to the car to prevent fading they claim it's not their problem. So looks like it's my problem. Paid over 50,000 for this car year and half ago has 25,000 miles on it.

If I could give Kia half a star

If I could give Kia half a star, I would! I have a 2022 K5 GT(not GT Line). Bought the car brand new from a Kia dealer in northwest Indiana. Things were great, until about 1500 miles... I took it into the dealer where I purchased three vehicle. The car was not sitting properly, and I would often have to put it in manual, in order to shift gears. I was told that was the DCT and it's normal behavior, and it would be months before I could get in to see a tech. I called other dealers and was told they were backed up for a few months.. I shrugged it off, in hopes it was a freak accident, and that it would occur again. Little did I know, that was only the beginning.. throughout the one year of ownership,I've had the brakes and rotors replaced at 14k miles, which is Ludacris. The car was at the dealer for over a week, as the dealer waited for the parts. $900 later.. The trans overheats, engine overheats, the car bogs down and runt go past 30.. then it just stops. My son and I have been on the side of the road more times than I care to admit. Check engine light comes on at least once a day, asking with the oil light. I am currently driving the car 1000 miles for an oil consumption test, because the dealer I took it to says the car was 2 qts low. I've contacted Kia numerous times and they will NOT do anything. I can't even get a loaner for these problems. Oh! I almost forgot.. I took one of the techs for a drive, to show him what I was talking about, in regards to the problems. I was driving in Sport, and he said Sport is only to beer driven at times when you need a little extra power. He goes on to say you're not supposed to drive for a long period of time in that mode. Kia says I'm driving the car to rough and to refer to my manual. But, no where in the manual does it say to not drive in that mode. I'm going to the news, and going viral until I get results..

Fraudulent activity at Courtesy Kia 6222 E Auto Park Drive…

Courtesy Kia 6222 E Auto Park Drive Mesa, AZ 85206

Why you shouldn’t purchase a car from Courtesy KIA in Mesa. To begin with the Financial Manager Tyler Hegland  is sneaky and very dishonest. My contract was emailed to me and a upon reading the contract I discovered that I had a charge of $1,442. 00 for tire repair, a $935.00 charge for  Century maintenance, a charge for 3,365.00 Ally Premium Protection, and also a charge of $499 for dealership documentation fee. At no time was any of these charges disclosed to me. He created fraud buy taking it upon himself to deceitfully bill me for unauthorized charges. In addition my signature was forged. Please make sure you read your contact Thoroughly because I believe that it is common practice for the dealership to be deceitful and add additional unauthorized charges to their clients

Kia Niro and Lee Johnson Kia - a winning combination

Purchased a Kia Niro EX Premium Hybrid in July 2021, but didn't start driving it until early October, 2021. It has more than lived up to the excellent reviews I found while researching it. It drives beautifully, with plenty of power when needed, transitioning smoothly and unnoticeably between all-electric and electric-assisted gasoline motors. All the safety and navigation features work beauifully. All-around comfort, from seats to climate control, is superior, as are media controls. Lee Johnson Kia of Kirkland, WA provided exceptional service, helping me buy what I needed in an extremely difficult buying environment, and providing outstanding maintenance support. I can't say enough good about the Kia Niro and the Lee Johnson Kia dealership.

2023 Carnival Engine keeps shutting off

I’ve had this car for one month now, and it’s literally been in service for half of it.

2 days after I bought the car, brand new with only 50 miles on it, the engine stops while I’m driving. So I take it into the shop and 2 days later the car is sent back citing “it was a blip. No issues found.”

1 week later the engine shuts off while it’s driving again. This time the car is in the shop for 12 days and they still haven’t figured it out.

I got the car back and we have to wait till it happens again, AFTER which they’ll install a diagnostic tool hoping it will happen a FOURTH time.

This is such an inconvenience having to drive back and forth during a work day…and them having me basically test the car for them.

This was my first KIA and will most likely be my last. The headaches are just not worth it. I wish I had just gone with the Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey.

Looking through some of the reviews here...I really wish I had checked this site before buying a Kia.

If I could rate zero stars I would

If I could rate zero stars I would. My life and my little ones life have been in apparent danger for years because we never received a “software update”
I have never received a letter for this update. Because of this no update the car stopped telling you when things are going wrong.
It does not even bother to tell you when engine your is failing. It completely shut off on us while driving. It could of gotten us killed on the highway. We are told we are out of luck and have to replace the entire engine which is now as much as the car. I was such a big fan before all of this happened. The customer service is garbage and so is the company.

I would not trust Kia car neither…

I would not trust Kia car neither should you because they just send me a letter month ago saying I have some kind of wrong Hecu ‘s electrical circuit board that they put in my 2014 shortage car. And it also states that because of that wrong part my car can catch on fire 🔥. They said it’s safe to drive my car in highway until I start smelling some kind of weird fire smell but they won’t write that on paper because they don’t want to responsibly for your or your loved ones life. I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t feel comfortable for my dad to drive this car in highway knowing that it might get caught in fire so I asked them if they provided some kind of car just till the right parts for my dads car comes in and they said they can’t do that. And after while they hung the phone up”. It doesn’t say any where in letter that if your vehicle were to caught on fire they will take the responsibility for it.
Be safe people stay away from Kia cars

Kia is known GOOD don't let them Trick you they don't care about you!

I had an experience with hitting a deer before Christmas time 2021. Took my car into The Body Shop It sit there for 7 months It was not on The Body Shop Kia could not get the parts needed to fix my car. I forgot to say it's a 2000 and 2022 Kia Sportage. So I called Kia multiple times before I actually got a case, I was asking them to buy the car back because it takes so long to repairs. I knew that was a long shot so I also asked for reimbursement for the rental for the rental car for the extra car I had to buy cause I ran out of rental money I asked for reimbursement for cost that I had to spend while the whole time my car was sitting in the shop waiting on parts from Kia. Now let's get into when I called them I called them multiple times never gotta answer waiting on the phone for hours and hours at a time So the 1st 3 times I gotta hold of somebody they were very rude they didn't really want to speak to me and didn't care about my situation they are like basically Boo hoo there's nothing we can do so my case got escalated. I bought 6 Kia's I don't feel like a value customer the way they've been treating me I just got reached back out to say that they weren't gonna do any of those things that I requested from them, the only thing they said that they are going to do on my behalf is to check to see if the parts will be made faster if I have this situation again. COME ON KIA SMH, OMG WOW WHAT GREAT customer service. I was gonna be a Kia lifetime member but I can't wait to get rid of these cars I will never deal with them again.

Do not buy a kia!

Do not buy a kia!! Burns oil, kia won't do anything to make it right. I have a 2014 forte that burns around 3 quarts between oil changes, my mother in law has a sorento that burns 7. We were both told by the dealership after having a diagnostic test that the engine will have to seize before they will fix it. They're cheap for a reason, spend the extra and buy quality. These cars are junk!

Car Battery dead or alive

I purchased my 2020 Kia Sorrento April 5, 2021 and May 11, 2022 had to get a jump start in Walmart parking lot.(1 year ownership) I contacted the dealership that I purchased it from and got an appointment that day, stating it would be a 2 hour diagnostic check?? I sat there for an hour and half they came and told me it was indeed the battery (insert eye roll) then told me the cost of $319 this included the cost to install the battery! I then had to wait another 1/2 hour while they installed my battery! I contacted KIA customer support and was told that there was not anything that could be done to my out of pocket cost for the battery because the car batteries only last 36,000 miles or 3 years, they asked my mileage which was 49,999 miles! I guess if I don't travel then my battery will last longer!!! I love my KIA and did a lot of research before purchasing my very first new car! We have lost the customer service factor and that is just sad!

I purchased a 2015 Kia Optimia in March…

I purchased a 2015 Kia Optimia in March of 2016, it only had 7 miles at the time of purchase. I always kept us with my regular maintenance schedule at Kia. In May of 2021 I had a message come across my console of a possible engine problem. I immediately took it to Kia and was told there is nothing to worry about. In July of 2021 I experienced engine trouble where my car would not accelerate, stuttered when being driven and very low power. Kia understood the issue right away and told me my car fell under the Kia Engine Recall. After almost 3 weeks in the shop I was able to retrieve my vehicle. I have continually filed claims for rental reimbursement under the Kia Engine Settlement guidelines and Epiq continually denies my claims in spite of the requested information being sent in. After my 3rd denial I requested an Arbitration hearing, in January. No response on a hearing date. In late March I filed a complaint with the BBB. I received notification from BBB that they were closing my case for lack of response from Epiq, the settlement administrators or KIA. Of course they will let it sit for 30 days because they know the BBB will close the case, which is frustrating because there is no resolution. I have continually had the Engine Control issue come up on my car and don't trust KIA to repair it correctly nor reimburse me for expenses. I will continually fight this until Kia takes responsibility and Epiq pays the claim settlement.

DO NOT PURCHASE A KIA

DO NOT PURCHASE A KIA!

I’m a very upset and an irate customer at this point! I’ve been stranded 5 times due to engine issues with my vehicle and nothing is getting done other than resetting the computer and being sent on my way just to be back in a matter of 2 weeks for the same damn issue again! My check engine light comes on and keep my car from accelerating and stutters and this has happened 5 times within 5 months already. This is unacceptable and the service dept at my dealerships is being directed by your company on what to do and these lame ass “resolutions” and bandaids that are being done to my vehicle are ridiculous on your part as a company. I drive for a living and have been left having to use multiple days of my hard earned Vacation days because of my vehicle constantly being back in service. I will be contacting the news and going to social media shortly as well to share the horrible experience I’ve had with you KIA. My vehicle has always been kept up with and in great condition and I’m absolutely upset and disgusted by the service I’m receiving. I NEED MY ENGINE REPLACED, a real resolution as even the management team at the dealership that has my vehicle feels the same way after having it in multiple times for the same issue but you won’t approve it yet they’ve replaced over 40 engines already this month alone. I’m sick and tired of being given the run around I want a resolution and to be contacted very quickly. I’ve called your 1-800 number 7 times and never get to speak to anyone with your ridiculous wait times. My last call was a 49 minute wait and I’m currently on hold again and it’s now been 32 min and spoke to. Jeremy act an hour of waiting total and he was extremely rude and hung up on me! I want my issue to be resolved and I’m moving forward with formal complaints and like I mentioned I will be contacting the news and social media. I’ve been patient long enough and I’ve been without my vehicle for 2 weeks now again as it’s currently in the service dept again!!! I will not be satisfied until this issue is TRULY RESOLVED and at this point my engine replaced, I’m done with resets of computers and sensors being checked and the check engine light being turned off and sending me on my way. Again I drive for a living and this is not acceptable after months and months. THIS IS THE 5TH TIME AND YOU KIA REFUSE TO REPLACE MY ENGINE AND JUST HAVE THEM DRIVE MY CAR , PUT MILEAGE ON IT AND SAY SEND THE CUSTOMER ON THEIR WAY AGAIN. I EXPECT TO BE CONTACTED AND ISSUE RESOLVED!

The only vehicle I will buy ever again

The only vehicle I will buy ever again. It's like lighting a firecracker and it goes off like dynamite. Much unexpected my SUV drives like a cloud with rockets on a roller coaster rail! They really back up there products. They find a problem they extend the warranty to 15 yrs, or 150.000 miles. I love my SUV. The only way you are going to take it from me is, if you give me a new one.
