Charged after I canceled my subscription
I canceled my KeywordsPeopleUse subscription. Nevertheless, the company charged my card again.
I did not remove my card information, because canceling a subscription is supposed to end the company’s authorization to bill it. Customers should not have to delete their payment method as insurance against a cancellation system they cannot trust.
Conveniently, KeywordsPeopleUse did not send me a cancellation-confirmation email, leaving no ordinary paper trail. After the charge appeared, I attempted to contact the company through its so-called AI support window. It never responded. There appears to be nobody available to address billing problems, although their system remains perfectly capable of collecting customers’ money.
Whether this results from a poorly designed cancellation process, inadequate customer support, or simple indifference, the effect on the customer is the same: I canceled, I was still charged, and I could not reach a human being to correct it.
A legitimate subscription business should provide immediate written confirmation of cancellation, maintain accessible human support for billing disputes, and promptly correct unauthorized renewals. KeywordsPeopleUse failed on all three counts in my experience.
I strongly recommend that prospective customers retain screenshots of every cancellation step, remove their payment information if possible, and monitor their statements carefully.
Caveat emptor.
