I’d been drinking Kenco Rich for over 15 years, now, rebrand to a different jar with 10g less coffee. Absolute rubbish. I have now started drinking Nescafé Alta Rica and wouldn’t touch Kenko again if it was free. Whoever made this change is not a coffee drinker. Awful stuff. 🤬🤬🤬

They have ruined my coffee! Unforgivable.
Not even worth a 1 star! I have used Kenco smooth for years and years, and now I am changing to another brand. It is just a disgusting sludge. Not the same taste at all and even the shrinkflation has annoyed me. The rebranding isn't good either. To add insult to injury there is 10g less per jar which equates to 5/6 cups and sold at a slightly lower price. What on earth were you thinking of? Now I have to find a coffee I like and probably waste more money.

I thought at first maybe I was imagining it but no the quality of Kenco has really gone down hill. I have been drinking this brand for many years and have been very happy with it. The new formulation is horrible and I will be looking for a new brand to replace it . What a shame, I can only imagine it has been done as a cost cutting measure. And don't think I did'nt notice the sneaky 5% shrinkflation too!

Absolute ruined what used to be a reliable, smooth coffee. The new "jewel" jar design is just a cover-up for a terrible recipe change and blatant shrinkflation (the jar is now smaller at 190g).Whatever they have done to the blend has completely ruined the taste. It is incredibly bitter, but the worst part is the texture. It leaves a thick, dark, gritty sediment at the bottom of the cup that looks like muddy puddle water and tastes disgusting. Instant coffee is supposed to dissolve fully—I don't want a mouth full of grit at the end of my drink. After years of loyalty, I'm binning this jar and switching to a brand that actually dissolves. Avoid.

I have drank kenco instant for many years. The addition of microgrounds to the freeze dried coffee leaves a horrible sludge in the last couple of mouthfuls. I do not drink ground coffee because I dislike this. I will use another brand of freeze dried coffee from now on. Also it is a premium priced product and the new style jar is smaller thus giving you less value for money.

Totally ruined kenco blue lable. Will not be buying any more after many years of drinking this brand. If I could have given 0 I would have . Very disappointed customer.
It has a film on it when made. Tastes awful and leaves a residue in the bottom of the cup.

After the rebrand the Kenco Rich coffee is disgusting. It tastes like dishwater and leaves a sludge like residue at the bottom of the cup. I will not be buying this coffee again unless the recipe is changed back as it was previously. This used to be my favourite coffee, now I will have to find a new instant coffee. Very disappointing.

Me and my wife have drank kenco coffee for decades and will now be changing brands as the new recipe is horrible it was a massive mistake by kenco if there idea was to attract ground coffee drinkers because the reason most people buy kenco is the fact that it was 100 percent dissolvable the new recipe is a real turn off for us and ground coffee drinkers are highly likely to stick to ground coffee so it was a pointless exercise which is going to loose kenco a lot of loyal customers 😰😕🫤☹️

I have just googled Kenco Rich coffee as my latest cups have not tasted the same. I have discovered that the recipe has changed. The new recipe is awful, very bitter with a nasty aftertaste, and sludge at the bottom. We have drunk Kenco Rich coffee for over 10 years but will now find another brand, reluctantly.
I note that there are many similar reviews and hope that Kenco will take notice and revert back.

This "revamp" is a disaster - We have been enjoying Kenco red for the past 10 years or so and it's now undrinkable. Bitter, leaves a scum on the side of the cup and the sludge at the bottom is gross. Won't be buying again....

Why would you spoil something that was excellent I'm changing brands now as the new kenc smooth is terrible .

When you think something is wrong, generally something is wrong, that being the new style of Kenco smooth, I thought it was my taste buds failing me , but after buying another jar, all's confirmed, it's really lacking in all departments of it's predecessor, it's now got a bitter taste, leaving a unpleasant aftertaste and doesn't dissolve well leaving a residue at the bottom of the cup. Time for a change of brand for me.

After years of Kenco Rich being our family favourite- we have gone in search of a new brand. Very disappointed at the changes - much too bitter, doesn’t dissolve as before and also smaller quantity in the jar - why fix what wasn’t broken 😞

Kenco have ruined their Really Rich Brand. My family have been purchasing this brand for years and when I bought the new red top everyone asked “have you changed the coffee”.
It is awful, cheap tasting, bitter, doesn’t blend, leaves a terrible aftertaste taste. JDE you’ve ruined a premium instant coffee.
So disappointing, my son calls it shittification I totally agree and will not be buying this ever again!

Like others, having found Kenco Smooth now tastes bitter and leaves a sludge at the bottom of the cup I complained to Douwe Egberts the owners of the Kenco brand. Their reply is that, contrary to previous statements that they "had no changed the recipe", they have. They now add 10% ground bean to their product. A kind of 'filler' to reduce the cost of production. Am now seeking an alternative brand to enjoy.

Kenko what have you done?
Taste has gone to the dogs but the sludge at the bottom.

I only bought kenco. Not no more! New jar! Wow says I, why have they spent 10s of 000s of pounds on designing and producing a new jar? Is it more aesthetic? Possibly. Is it easier to open? I doubt it. Then it has to be because they put less in the new jar! WINNER!! That's right, 10 grams they've stolen off of us. If you can spend that kind of money on a jar there must be a reason besides that surely? No. Theft. Pure and simple. Shrinkflation as it's coined. So Douwe egberts are as big as crooks can get. And the recipe change? Back to grinding beans for me. Big business showing exactly what they think of their customers. F all.

Gutted 😞. Bought my usual decaf Kenco but seriously thought there had been an error in labelling! So I bought the standard smooth Kenco to check - that was awful too. No more. Would be interesting to see what other brand disappointed customers are buying instead now to save me hassle of trials !

We first noticed that we were getting a sludge in the bottom of the cup and it didn’t taste the same then we find out there is less coffee in the jar despite the price being the same . It has baffled me for some time why it was cheaper to buy a jar than a refill packet what is the point of paying more for a paper bag. The price of kenco has been all over the place for years. In shops like bm or Iceland or aldi could be £1.50 a jar cheaper than Asda or Tesco or the local shops.

I don’t care about the jar. I do care about the change in taste and the added sludge left in the cup. I will not be buying any more of this concoction.
