Kara Is a Strategic Coach Who Truly Cares—and Delivers Real Results

As someone nearly a decade into my career—coming from strategy consulting and exploring both executive roles at startups (SVP+) and senior group lead positions on the corporate side (Director+)—I needed more than generic advice. I needed a strategic partner. Kara delivered exactly that.

From our very first call, it was clear that Kara goes far beyond conventional negotiation tips. She brings a comprehensive, end-to-end approach: from thoughtful preparation, to in-the-moment negotiation strategy, to post-offer communication and positioning. Her guidance led to a meaningful increase in my total compensation—even in a challenging market—and, more importantly, gave me the tools to navigate high-stakes conversations with recruiters and senior decision-makers with confidence.

What truly sets Kara apart is how much she cares. She invests in your success as if it were her own. She brings clarity, energy, and insight at every step—and makes the entire process both empowering and enjoyable.

If you’re even considering a career move—especially at the senior level—talk to Kara early. You’ll walk away with immediate, actionable value no matter what comes next.

Insightful, supportive, and a pleasure to work with

I got connected with Kara through my alumni network, and I really enjoyed working with her. She was insightful and asked thoughtful questions that pushed me to really think about my true base—the number I’d be willing to walk away from. She was attentive, listened carefully to my situation, and provided step-by-step breakdown on how I should approach my negotiation.
She also followed up regularly and checked in on my progress. When things moved quickly, she was always available to hop on calls at short notice. I could tell she genuinely cares about helping people, and it was an absolute pleasure working with her.

Methodical Negotiation Support – Wish I Had Started Sooner!

I wish I had worked with Kara earlier in the process before sending my salary and equity request to the a Fortune 500 where I ended up accepting an offer. Kara improved my leverage as soon as we started working together and provided custom-drafted emails for me to use in responding to the recruiter and the hiring manager. I really appreciated that she was so responsive to my messages even though we were in different timezones.
I also appreciated that she explained to me why I shouldn’t worry about losing my offer if I negotiate with the company. For every question I had, she presented me with scenarios of how things could play out, which helped me make the best decisions. Her advice was very specific and actionable and helped me pick the offer that makes the most sense for my career given my goals.

Offer negotiation - increased 11%

Working with Kara was a game changer for negotiating my offer for a Software Engineer 2 role in a Fortune 500 tech company” I knew there was room to negotiate but I needed help navigating the conversations with the recruiter/HR. Kara walked me through every step of the process—from framing my initial counteroffer to preparing for recruiter conversations and even reviewing my offer letter.

What stood out most was her ability to tailor the strategy to my specific situation. She helped me anticipate recruiter responses, identify leverage points and watch out for common mistakes.

By the end of the process, I had increased my base salary by 11% while maintaining a collaborative and positive relationship with the company.

Kara’s commitment to her clients is clear. She was available to help me craft emails and to rehearse the key points for my calls. Her insight into compensation structures, like stock options, bonuses, and refreshers, ensured I had the full scope of the offer and advocated for what I truly deserved.

I also appreciated her flexibility and willingness to go above and beyond. I will be recommending her to friends.

If you’re looking for a salary negotiation coach who truly understands the tech industry and knows how to maximize your offer, I can’t recommend Kara enough. It's a no-brainer.

Got a $500K increase in total comp…

Got a $500K increase in total comp after working with Kara. Before Kara and I connected, my plan was to ask for the same salary as my prior role because I really cared about joining my current company (dream role in AI).

After talking with Kara, I realized, however, that I should not only ask for more in salary but also anchor the equity discussion much higher because I was bringing a unique skill set to the company.

She helped me spot unfavorable terms in the offer letter and draft emails to the company's attorney to get those terms changed (zero pushback!). Practicing the negotiation with Kara was so important for me to feel like I always knew what to say. I plan to reach out to Kara immediately when I negotiate in the future, whether it’s for my future promotions or for new roles.

Strategic Coaching and $15K Raise

When I started working with Kara, I wasn’t 100% confident of my leverage in my salary negotiation. I was already working as a part-time contractor for the company after switching from full-time a 8 months ago due to other commitments. However, after the end of those commitments, I wanted to go back to full-time at the company. I didn’t have any competing offers lined up, though I was keeping up with the market and what salaries are currently out there. I wasn’t sure how to make the case for a higher salary without sounding greedy or overstepping since I was already being given what my raise was 8 months ago.

Kara helped me frame my contributions and skills I gained through my other commitments in a way that aligned with what the company valued most. She helped me think of the negotiation as a “win-win,” not just a favor I’m asking of the company. This made it significantly easier to overcome any mental barriers and negotiate for my worth, which most people shy away from doing. We practiced my pitch together until I felt confident presenting my case.

Initially, the company offered me $100,000 for a full-time Aerospace Engineer position. By following Kara’s strategy, I was able to negotiate a 15% increase to $115,000. This was a significant win, especially since I was uncertain about my bargaining power, and given I already received a raise 8 months ago.

Kara’s coaching is both practical and effective, and she is very friendly. She helped me structure my arguments, stay focused on facts, and approach the conversation as a collaboration rather than a confrontation. If you’re in a technical field like engineering and want to negotiate with confidence, I highly recommend Kara. Her coaching not only helped me secure a better salary but also taught me skills I’ll use throughout my career.
