Refused payment after a full day's work
I worked a single day for this company on a site in Wolverton, Milton Keynes on 1st June. The day started at 7:30am with a two-hour induction, followed by fence demolition work using what I felt were inadequate tools for the task.
At 3pm I was dismissed, with the company stating the unsupervised work didn't meet their standard — a standard that, in my experience, hadn't been clearly communicated beforehand. I was then refused payment for the day (£132.80). When I called directly to ask about this, I was given the same explanation, raised only after the fact.
Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend hiring this company, and I'd be cautious about working for them.
