Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 38 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found customer service unhelpful and difficult to navigate, often spending hours on calls without resolution and repeatedly explaining issues. Consumers also faced significant problems with payment processing, including delays, account lockouts, and transfer difficulties, leading to frustration and inconvenience. However, some customers also noted concerns regarding the bank's handling of fraud and disputes. Several reviewers reported that the bank seemed to favor customers in transaction disputes, even with merchant evidence, and some felt its dispute resolution process was unfair. Others experienced accounts closed or compromised, feeling the bank did not adequately protect them in such situations.

Chase is pathetic

This company is pathetic! Right now in the middle of the busiest shopping time of the year I can't sign into the app! The guy I had to spend 30 valuable minutes talking to...who gave every stupid excuse in the world...finally told me to uninstall and reinstall. Good God! They evidently don't pay their IT folks enough. I never have this problem with any other app I have and I use many! No wonder less than 2 stars on here. I would give "0" if possilble.

New account offers from Chase beware

My daughter just had a very bad experience with JP Morgan Chase. She opened up a savings and checking account from one of their offers and deposited money. Then they closed her account and will not give her her money! They closed it because she made deposits into her account a few days in a row to meet the required amount to be deposited to get the bonus from opening up a new account. They did not contact her or anything and just close the account and now a couple thousand dollars she cannot get and they said they're going to mail a check. This is such a bad experience for an 18-year-old opening her first own account
She went to a branch to find out what was going on and they did not help and were not responsive. I would not recommend taking Chase up on any of these offers. They send through the mail to open up a new savings and or checking account.

CHASE has done NOTHING to help

I sent a complaint via consumer affairs. The Company CHASE has done NOTHING. My account was made inaccessible when I tried to send money to my daughter's Chase account Now they suggest I call a number that I've called numerous times before. They are determined to thwart my ability to access my accounts. What proof of my identity do they require? I sent a copy of the letter they sent to me. How could I fake such a letter? Their response is disgraceful. It would have been so easy for them to grant my request but they are too lazy or obstinate to do it.

This company is HORRID!! The worst part is I DON'T EVEN BANK WITH THESE CLOWNS!!!!!
New business owner here and was searching for business lending options, when this outfit came up with several others, however they had Numerous offers on the table, ALL FOR CHECKING or WEIGHING MY QUALIFYING OPTIONS,...with an ALLEGED SOFT INQUIRY to be done, again...I am a NEW Business Owner, I have never done any business with the entity before so I thought, let's just see what their offer is...
I was immediately DENIED any Business Funding/Credit no matter the fact of my personal Credit Score being over 750. No worries, never worked with them before anyway, however these JACK CLOWNS did a HARD INQUIRY on my Credit that immediately dropped my score and when contacted about it did the Run Around Game by transferring me 5 TIMES!!!! Then left me on hold whilst waiting for a Super/Mgr to assist for over 20 minutes!!
THIS BANK(and I use the term Bank loosely) SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chase has denied disputed fraudulent charges

Chase has denied disputed charges on my credit card from a taxi driver that charged me a total of $2367 for a $5.00 taxi ride. They said because my card wasn’t stolen their “investigation” decided the charges were valid. Chase has not provided me with any evidence from their investigation. Chase themselves sent me a text alert warning of suspicious charges at the time these charges were pending and I responded immediately confirming the charges were fraudulent. I disputed them, as instructed, once the charges were posted. This is my business card. I’ve been a loyal customer and paid them thousands of dollars in interest over the last 20 years. I’m appalled they can charge me for such blatant theft. I might as well have been robbed in broad daylight for all they care.

Worst broker I've ever dealt with.

Worst broker I've ever dealt with.

Let me start off by saying I have accounts with 5 different brokerages and have looked into several others, I am also a qualified purchaser so I am very well versed in this industry.

Jp Morgan's self directed account is the absolute WORST platform to invest on, the next worst doesn't even come close to how bad this platform is.

No extended hours trading, no securities lending, you cannot simultaneously have a margin account and trade options, you cannot buy OTC equities, and the customer support is the worst.

I've been trying to transfer shares out of my JPM account into Fidelity for the past 30 days and JPM doesn't even have an ounce of a clue as to why their system is rejecting the transfer. They've cost me thousands of dollars in securities lending income.

RUN don't walk away from these guys.

I moved form NY York to Pennsylvania,I…

I moved form NY York to Pennsylvania,I am 56 years of age, and on medications, that impair me. I am partially immobile due to my diagnosis. In the summer of 2021, I had to leave my rented house that ,my deceased father I lived with due to his passing. I was under total duress. I secured a home in western PA. Three years later, I got a deduction out of my Checking Account from the Long Island branch of Chase Bank. The box was only utilized for a week until I drew the funds and put them into my Chase Savings, to have a cashiers check for 39K for down payment on my new home in PA. Time elapsed until I seen $97 was deducted fro my account in PA for failing to return the keys and close the box. I called them and notified both branches about my situation. I recovered the keys hidden in my vehicle after forgetting about them for the last 3 years. That's half the dilemma. In order for me to refunded, and to stop having the $97 dollars taking out of my account every year, I need a "Power of Attorney present at the NY branch for the document to be signed in their presence. I am alone, and have to ties there anymore, and I am sure, nobody would want to take on that responsibility; if I did. I would need to travel 450 miles away just to close the box. very unreasonable ultimatum. Their policies are over zealous, over rigid, and is not tailored for people who are immobile. I cant even have statement from my local branch surrendering the keys, I sign a waver to cancel the box, notarized, and sent that, and the keys through interoffice mail; remotely to my previous branch in Long Island NY, Babylon Village."No I have to be their branch office in person," and I have NO Power of Attorney. I am a lone in this world. They are really giving me a hard time closing out the box. I haven't got the health, and the means of driving out there to NY just to have safe deposit box closed. They are, discriminatory as far as my mobility, and unfair, and tyrannical policies restrict people in my position, that have accessibility problems, I was contacted by their "complaint department to be told the same ultimatum. Totally useless agents, and customer service. at the corporate level, and the Babylon New York branch. Please help me, Joseph Donato. 412-613-7051. NOTE: If this is not resolved, I will take every dime out of my Chase Savings, total of $17000, open a new account , and Blog negative feedback about this racket. Its is totally absurd, and unacceptable on how you treat a disabled human beings. By the way. My father was a decorated Korean War Vet. who fraught Communism for fascists like your establishment to prosper on the backs of the down and out.

Tried to cash a check from a multinational corporation at the local Chase and they told me since I was not a customer of theirs I would have to pay them $10.00 to cash a business check written on one of their accounts. I guess I'm just not understanding why they think it is appropriate for them to charge me $10.00 to cash one of their checks. I suppose I should feel lucky they didn't charge me to walk into their lobby. I checked at my bank, who I have been with for 40+ years, and they said that Chase is just about the most expensive bank to do business with. A fee for EVERYTHING.

Terrible personnel and communication

Paid off my auto loan and was told “lies” by the first 2 associates I spoke to before my payment processed and then “truths” during the 3rd and 4th calls after my payment processed.

They lost me as a future customer over the headaches and circles they drug me through over $50 after I paid $40k. Ridiculous company, will never obtain a loan through them again.

I'm the executor of my parents' estate

I'm the executor of my parents' estate. JPM did not have beneficiary information for all 4 accounts even though my parents were in their upper 80s. After forwarding both death certificates, they closed Dad's accounts and said they were now Mom's. Explained Mom was also passed. Oh, we thought it was two certificates for Dad. 5 more days. Customer service overseas with heavy accent.
Then they closed all the accounts, even the custodial account with a grandchild. Then they entered the grandchild as deceased also. No. She is very much alive and on active duty with the Army. They canceled her credit card and she had to spend hours on the phone to make sure this terrible mistake didn't impact her further.
Again called customer service in India (?) Pakistan (?). Two more days until I got one account straightened out, maybe...
This is ongoing.
No more Chase or JP Morgan.

Update (6/18/24)
Still dealing with incompetent customer service.
Chase Bank cannot help with anything from JP Morgan. My lawyer told me to bring the will that was filed with the county. That proves I am executor so they can tell me who is listed as beneficiary. Nope. Chase personal banking rep said I need proof of estate executor not will executor. The will says I am executor of the estate. That's not good enough.
JP Morgan sent me pages and pages of beneficiary forms for me to fill out. I asked if my brothers also got the paperwork. They can't tell me. So should I have my brothers call ? They couldn't tell me that either. So should I have the whole country call just in case they are named as beneficiaries? They can't tell me that...

Poor Client Service

In a little over a year after opening a JPMorganChase checking account and a brokerage account, I lost confidence in Chase based on the way I was treated, and I closed all accounts.
Denied credit card even though I had excellent credit rating and had extensive assets in the brokerage account.
I did research and found out that Chase has a binary rule (5/24) rule stating that you won't be approved for a Chase credit card if you've opened five or more cards from any bank (excluding most business credit cards) in the past 24 months. This rule is never stated in the credit card application. I have opened credit cards that offered cash bonuses after a fixed dollar amount was charged to the card and paid. In one case, the offer was a $200 bonus after $1,000 was charged to the card within a set time period and paid off. Taking this offer yields $200 benefit with no additional expenditures as long as the credit card is used to make the necessary purchase. Using such bonus offers is an excellent way to manage personal finances.
Chase put a 10 day hold on a check I deposited in the Checking account.
JPMorgan incorrectly titled/registered the Brokerage account with the wrong Trust date, and omitted one of the trustees. When I noticed the error (yes, I noticed it and JPMorgan did not), I notified the Client Advisor about the error. 46 days later, I closed all JPMorgan Chase accounts with the error not corrected.
During this 46 day period there was no change in the title/registration of the Brokerage account after numerous efforts on my part to get JPMorgan to make the correction. On two separate occasions I was told that the error would be corrected within a couple of days. At a meeting to check the status of efforts to correct the trust date error. I was requested to sign a “Trust Certification” certifying to a fact that was not true. I lost confidence in JPMorgan/Chase after I was encouraged to sign a document that all meeting personnel knew was not true.

We tried to reach out their customer service and it was completely useless.

ATM maintenance is nonexistent in Ohio.

I have been banking with chase for many years. I have been so impressed in the past. However, the past year or so I’ve noticed more than one atm being down, not working, out of money, and one the touch screen was broken. It’s so frustrating to drive to the bank only to discover you can not in fact use it. This is west Carrollton Ohio, Kettering Ohio, and centerville Ohio. I’m not even sure what’s going on with the maintenance of these atms, but it makes me want to switch to a different bank because that’s unacceptable. I’ve wasted too much gas driving around trying to find an atm that actually works. During business hours it’s fine but after hours is when the issues arise. If you go to an atm only location you’re out of luck. Ohioans beware!

Don't use Chase for anything

On March 6th, 2024, I found a bunch of transfers and withdrawals from mine and my college son's accounts. With help from the Chase branch in Livingston, I filed claims. A verbal PIN and new access questions were created. On March 13th, Chase Livingston created new accounts, transferring the balances from the old accounts. On March 14th around noon, I discovered another set of transfers and withdrawals from my college son's new accounts created on March 13th. All the withdrawals were made in person at a Chase teller. Chase returned one of the withdrawals and accused me, stating "the item(s) being disputed were authorized, or you received benefit from the item(s)." The total loss is around $50K. Chase allowed the withdrawals based solely on a fake photo ID without a debit card or checks with signatures. So far, Chase refuses to admit any wrongdoing and refuses to return the unauthorized withdrawals. Although I have a set of alerts set, but had never received any cellphone text or email for those unauthorized pin change, transfers and withdrawals For the safety of your money, I suggest staying away from Chase.

If I could give this collection of…

If I could give this collection of CLOWNS a negative 50 score, I would. This pack of pigs - led by Jamie Diamond - has the3 nerve to have customer service and also their Security Dept in INDIA! India? This is a country the World Health Org said was THE MOST unsanitary condition in the world. AKA they crap in the streets and their neighbors lawns. NPR reported that the lot next to the crumbling Taj Mahal is filled with the carcasses of dead animals. In other words, a house dies, these pigs dump it there. Let not forget the rape gangs that are so prevalent. Chase has become a joke of a bank. There i no customer service, there is no real security, and if one of the rape gang members gets your credit card info, they can sell it and there is no recourse. India has no laws protecting your personal info. Are you going to fly to India to prosecute the offender? NO! Pull your money out of Chase. It's at risk and Diamond does not give a crap about retail banking. Chase does not want to hear about the terrible service given from India. They have employees in the US that think its funny to hang up on customers if their precious Indians are criticized. Let the Treasury Dept know how horrible Chase is. Encourage that they yank their operating license. Chase used to be a good bank - decades ago. As you can see from their low ratings - they STINK at what they do. Let's work to close them!!!!!!!!

I hope you read this Chase. Now DIE
