I wouldn’t recommend Joyce Young based on my experience purchasing bridesmaids’ dresses.

With my bridesmaids based in both London and Glasgow, I was initially delighted to find Joyce Young had stores in both cities, this made us think the process of fittings and style selection seem straightforward. Wanting to make it a special experience, I booked an appointment at the Glasgow store months in advance and travelled up from London to attend with my Glasgow bridesmaids.

Unfortunately, after already travelling up to Glasgow, we were told that all of the regular staff were away at a wedding fair(making it unclear why they would have booked us the appointment months in advanced). The only person available to help was a seamstress who, although bit at fault, made it clear she didn’t usually handle appointments and was unable to answer most of our questions or provide guidance on browsing styles, leaving us to our own devices.

We eventually selected dresses and had everyone measured in-store, but when the dresses were later delivered, every single one was far too large(multiple dress sizes). We were forced to take them elsewhere for alterations, adding over £300 in unexpected costs.

For the premium price point and the brand’s reputation, I had expected a far higher level of service and a better fit on delivery. I wouldn’t describe the process as warm or welcoming. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend them based on my experience

From arriving to look for a Grandmother of the Bride outfit to actually taking home the most stunning and very personalised outfit it was a totally magical experience. Valerie helped choose colour and style and her advice was spot on; Elena was there to organise and advise on absolutely everything and I couldn't have coped without her; Debbie was there on the last visit to try it all on and take it home and was very helpful and understanding of my getting the time wrong and Simona was just amazing, fantastic - fitting me, helping me with the little tweeks to the outfit and making it up. Every woman should experience this at least once in a lifetime and I feel so honoured and thrilled at the result. Made me feel very special. Thank you all so much.

Joyce Young is utterly delightful, highly professional. Joyce has designed the perfect couture Mother of the Groom outfit as a result of her superlative close attention to detail allied with high attention to individual client preferences and/or requirements. Joyce can also work with international clients based abroad or UK based clients, which was a huge bonus for my personal situation initially. Simply can't recommend Joyce Young and her team highly enough.

Well I was overwhelmed by the choice in this beautiful shop. However with the help of Elena she soon found different gorgeous mother of the Bride outfits that suited me. Having narrowed in down I was simply thrilled with our choice and it was approved by my daughter - most important!! The outfit was beautifully made and tailored to my size and at every step there was Elena and other members of the staff to approve, advise and alter. It was such a lovely experience after having the initial - oh gosh what am I going to wear thoughts. I thoroughly recommend Joyce Young to anyone who wants a stunning outfit and to definitely stand out in the crowd. I was comfortable in my outfit all day and through to the evening when I even graced the dance floor! Thank you everyone for making it all so easy for me. Well done on making beautiful clothes.

I had my mother of the bride outfit made at Joyce Young.
It was unique, it was a one off hybrid of two outfits with my own personal twist.
It was of course hand made and tailored for me and it was exquisite.
I felt a million dollars.
It’s one of my best life experiences.
I felt very special. Thank you to Joyce and all her team.
