Disappointing Service and Poor Fit – Not Worth the Premium Price
I wouldn’t recommend Joyce Young based on my experience purchasing bridesmaids’ dresses.
With my bridesmaids based in both London and Glasgow, I was initially delighted to find Joyce Young had stores in both cities, this made us think the process of fittings and style selection seem straightforward. Wanting to make it a special experience, I booked an appointment at the Glasgow store months in advance and travelled up from London to attend with my Glasgow bridesmaids.
Unfortunately, after already travelling up to Glasgow, we were told that all of the regular staff were away at a wedding fair(making it unclear why they would have booked us the appointment months in advanced). The only person available to help was a seamstress who, although bit at fault, made it clear she didn’t usually handle appointments and was unable to answer most of our questions or provide guidance on browsing styles, leaving us to our own devices.
We eventually selected dresses and had everyone measured in-store, but when the dresses were later delivered, every single one was far too large(multiple dress sizes). We were forced to take them elsewhere for alterations, adding over £300 in unexpected costs.
For the premium price point and the brand’s reputation, I had expected a far higher level of service and a better fit on delivery. I wouldn’t describe the process as warm or welcoming. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend them based on my experience
