I ordered my usual size and when the shoes arrived they didn’t fit. I could see stitching coming apart on the instep which I assume would grown into a hole if the shoes were worn. These shoes seem like they are counterfeit but I purchased them directly from the Josef Seibel website using an account I’ve had for years. I returned the shoes and will move to another shoe brand in the foreseeable future, by the looks of it this company has started using a low quality manufacturer in order to increase profit. Judging by the reviews it has backfired spectacularly.

Really bad quality shoes made in China. And you must pay for the return yourself. What a joke. I have learnt to tell the difference between genuine and fake trainers by the quality and these shoes were so obviously low quality when I got to look at them up close. Sort it out Josef, the people you have making your shoes have done you up like a kipper mate.

Terrible. Bought boots for my daughter for Christmas. Not even a month old and one zip is broken and the inner sole is worn through on the other. Such ashame as used to be excellent quality. Must have outsourced to cheap company. Just awful! Avoid!

Bought a pair of Westland boots last winter, which were so comfortable for the couple of months I wore them. When I got them out again this winter, the uppers are detaching from the soles and the water poured in. As others have said, Josef Seibel referred me to the retailer John Lewis who wouldn’t do anything. I liked the boots so much last winter that I bought a pair of JS leather trainers and the soles wore out within a few weeks. I’ve never known other footwear wear out like this. Shocking quality for the price.

Well, what a disappointment. Bought supposedly waterproof shoes. They are lovely but within a month are no longer waterproof.
The company will refund on return but if I want another pair I have to order. They won't send a replacement.
This is such a shame as they are comfortable but not fit for purpose.
The first response was I could spray them! They are meant to be waterproof!! Also specifically says don't spray them.
Avoid this company.

It's the worst shoe so far. I will never buy them again.
Bought two pairs two months apart. The first pair beautiful, lightweight, comfortable leather shoes. That's why I bought another pair. On both pairs soles broke after four months of light wear. Horror! Expensive horror!
Their answer is that sellers are held accountable for omissions. Well, who made a bad product! Quality and tradition....

Zips were faulty, shoes uncomfortable, but you always have to pay for returns. Wish I hadn't purchased.

My wife has worn Josef Seibel shoes for years. Having just ordered a new pair similar to what she has when they arrived the design had changed and although they were the right size apparently they were vittually impossible to put on as the heel area was too tight . They were returned and a refund was issued withiut any problems.

Dreadful quality. The soles disintegrate after three months of light use. The laces disintegrate quicker. This has happened to me with three pairs in 9 months. Thankfully, I kept the receipt (so Charles Clinkard, the shop I bought the original pair from, replaced them twice). Still not even close to being worth the money. Do not buy!

I have bought the Josef Seibel Max mule slip on slippers for many many years. The first pair is still in use near the back door for popping on to do a bin run etc.. I have a pair at work to slip on if I was to be in work boots and need to go in office!
They are more than an in door only slipper, great foot wear.

Had high hopes for these shoes but ended up very disappointed. Soles seem very hard, some sort of rubber or plastic type material I would suspect, so soles have no 'give' and are uncomfortable when walking. Lesson - always check reviews before buying.

Bought 2 pairs of summer shoes in 2023. Soles have split on the inside of the shoes. Shoes have had light usage.

How is Joseph Seibel getting away with selling this rubbish.

I e-mailed the company prior to buying the Westland Glider 01 to ask if it will be waterproof if I walk into water their response: "the Glider 01 product is 100% waterproof ". I bought it and walked ankle height into water only to find that it is not waterproof and the shoes started getting wet after 5 seconds in the water. I am deeply disappointed that they would just blatantly lie. On top of that the calves are a really tight fit. I'm afraid I have no use for them and it was a complete waste of money.

I bought the Lenny 51 shoes. Within around 2 weeks the laces were fraying, and almost 3 months in, the soles are splitting. Awful quality. Fast fashion, and bad for the environment. I used to highly regard this brand, but my last 2 purchases have had issues with the quality.

Fantastic shoes. I dress smartly for work (suit, blazer etc) but I also have a decent walk to & from my local railway station. It’s difficult to find comfortable, durable shoes that also look smart and fashionable for the office.
Josef Seibel cross that line perfectly, beautifully made shoes at a fair price.

This is an old establish company which I first came across some years ago . My wife has two pairs of their Selena 59 Autumn/Winter boots the first pair are some 3/4 years old and apart from heeling and cleaning have performed as expected from a quality product and have stood up well to some rough walking
The second pair she is wearing this winter as a smart fashionable town shoe for this wet seasons weather a roll they are amply suited for.
I recently purchased a pair of there Jasper 50 Chelsea boots in grey suede, I expected them to be a problem in the current wet spell , but no, I have worn them most days and other than wiping the rain from them and a suede brush clean they look pretty good, and they are so comfortable

Quality (soles particularly) of Josef Seibel shoes has deteriorated big time. Bought 2 pairs of Alastair 01 men’s shoes. Soles on both pairs split on middle after very little wear. One pair was replaced but I am still left with a pair that are unusable. Personal opinion is that the quality of rubber ( I assume that is what it is) being used is on the lower end of the scale.
I noticed a comment on Trust Pilot about the company not publishing negative reviews - have had the same experience. Posted a 1 star review on the above shoes and as yet it has not appeared on JS site as far as I can see. Have also noted that there are no reviews of any men’s shoes on the JS by post site - wonder why?
Shoes were very comfortable but buying them has proved to be an expensive mistake.
I did have quite a bit of contact (E Mail and phone) with the company over the last few months and Customer Service staff were professional in dealing with my issue.
Have purchased various Josef Seibel shoes for years but unfortunately I am now an ex customer.
