The name of the review is the introduction that professionalism is much more than wear a shirt with the logo of the company and nice pictures inside of a truck.
I bought a couch at Seats and Sofas Zandaam in June 22, and as any person, I was excited to receive my couch. They don't offer delivery service, but they do recommend a company, and this company is Joey's Transport.
As it was a recommendation from the company, I trusted and didn't look up for any other review or so. I saw the prices in the flyer and accepted the prices. And the irony of it, is that when my boyfriend asked me when and how I would pick the couch up, I said to him that I was going to hire the company. When I said the price, he thought it was quite expensive, and I said to him: "I rather pay professionals to do the service and have no stress about it than try to do pick it myself and damage something".
Day 1: That said, the day of the delivery finally arrived, and I was really happy. The delivery was done by two men. They used the stroller to carry the couch to my apartment and for the first half of the couch they used the stroller to carry the couch to inside of the apartment. And when one was leaving the apartment, he bumped the stroller in my washing maschine, making a scratch. I was waiting to him to comeback to show to him. In the meantime the other man (allegedly named Joey) was unpacking the first part of the couch and let the couch fall in the wall, which caused a hole and a red scratch on the wall (my couch is red). I immediately picked it up my phone and took a picture and he pretended that he didn't see. Then I said to him that would need to fixed. And he said that the couch would cover it, so no one was going to see it. Then I said, I have to return the apartment and definitely they will see it. Then he said that I could easily fix with plaster, the ones that we could buy at Hema. I said, look the other man already scratched my maschine with the stroller and now you did this hole in my wall, I need a solution. Then he said that he could ask for a repair to his boss and they could send another driver to repair, or they could deduct the price of the plaster (7 euros) from the total price. I was not happy, but at least was a solution. He asked two more times if I wanted the price to be deducted or the company to send another driver to fix it. Then I said, I prefer that the company repairs it, because it was done by you. Also for the maschine.
I paid, and he assured me three times at least, that he had already contacted his boss and that they would try to fix it as soon as possible. And if didn't hear anything from them, I should contact them.
To formally report, I sent a message to the WhatsApp number where I hired the service in the same day describing what happened (2h to be precise).
Day 2: when I realized how bad was the hole, I contacted the building management company to inform them.
I sent another message to the WhatsApp saying that I would actually ask for repair from the building company and the support center of the maschine since the maschine is new (I bought a month ago).
Day 3: the allegedly owner of the company calls me from a private number. He introduced himself in Dutch, I asked to him to speak in English. And then he said that it was regarding the damage. And his first sentence was that he was not paying for anything, because it was the first time that he was listening about it. Then I said that this could not be true because the driver assured me three times at least that he reported to his boss and I sent a message to them in the same day as well. He insisted that I didn't report and that I couldn't prove that was done by the drivers and that he couldn't identify the driver that was on the service. Then I said that this could not be true, because they must have a schedule and in any case, the building has security camera, that was not an issue. Then he said that it was my word against theirs and I couldn't prove that the damages were not there before. So I could file a complain that his has his lawyers.
At this point I was so taken aback for the whole lying and threatening tone that I just couldn't believe that a company could be that unprofessional. And I tried again and he kept saying in an almost moking tone that I couldn't do anything that they would get away with it.
In conclusion, I hired this delivery company to have a professional service and in the end I ended up with a huge issue and headache and a material and financial loss. Because I paid the full service and now I will have to pay for their damages.
I also recommend that Seats and Sofas stop to recommend this company.
