More interested in closing than helping people

These people are more interested in their closing times than helping people. Twice this week, I've been told they can't help as they are closing.
On Wednesday, I arrived to pick up a prescription just before 1pm. There was no-one in front of me. I asked for the prescription and the attendant said "we are closed for lunch".

Today, I arrived at 12:32, there was one person being served and another in the queue. The chemist then wasted five minutes nearly allowing a friend to queue-jump (until the lady in front of me forcefully reminded both that there was a queue), then, when I got to the front of the queue to ask for advice, the chemist told me (at 12:49pm) it was too late as they are about to close.

Very disappointing, and this pharmacy will not get a third chance from me.

Jansel Square star

Hi, I completely understand the comments from other reviewers about prescription issues and long queues, but I want to share my own experience from the past three visits where I needed help from the pharmacist. The young man at the Jansel Square branch has been absolutely fantastic.
About a year ago, I went in tears, struggling with a very painful infection. I had no help from my local surgery—as usual—and nothing from the Boots online GP service. I went to the pharmacy in desperation, hoping someone could help. This pharmacist did everything he possibly could: he wrote a handwritten note to the surgery, called them, and tried every route to secure a prescription for me. Unfortunately, the surgery refused his plea—no surprise there—and I ended up in A&E that same day to finally get the treatment I needed.
Last week, I returned with another urgent issue. The surgery had mistakenly sent my prescription to an online pharmacy, but I needed it that evening. Once again, the same young man went above and beyond. While I was still stuck on the automated phone system, he phoned Pharmacy2U, contacted the surgery, and managed to process the prescription himself. I walked out at 5:59pm with the medication I urgently needed.
I believe his name is Veron or something similar. He has been fantastic. Out of all the medical professionals involved during these episodes, he was the only one who truly seemed to care and genuinely wanted to help. Calm, thorough, and compassionate.
A real credit to the pharmacy. Well done.

Terrible Communication

My local Jardine's Pharmacy don't answer the phone, just leaving a forever rotating message saying to use the NHS app to check on the status of your prescription.

The problem is, they don't ever update this system. Ever. Every prescription I've ever had is logged as "awaiting preparation" whether it's one that's just been issued, or one that I've previously collected. Whether this is a month ago or years ago.

So, you're forced to go into the pharmacy if you want to check anything, which makes queue times far longer, and wastes your time if they're not ready.

Excellent service

Fortunately, having read other reviews, our Jardines Pharmacy in Bedgrove Aylesbury are always excellent. Blaze and the team are always friendly and helpful and try to do whatever they can even though being a small pharmacy right by GP surgery and always very busy.

Shambolic company

I had a pre-booked private Covid vaccination at Shenley Pharmacy, Milton Keynes. I received reminders, but when I got there they said there was no-one available to do it. (I had not been messaged). They assured me that if I went to Neath Hill Pharmacy, 5 miles away, I would be vaccinated straight away. When I got there, they said that they couldn't vaccinate me, for some reason which I forget. They directed me to Stantonbury Pharmacy, 2 miles away, and kindly called to check. I was told that they WOULD vaccinate me, but only after lunch. I killed more than an hour. At Stantonbury, the first employee went into refusal mode, but fortunately was overridden by her colleague, who had presumably taken the phone call.
All of this was so that I could give them £95 of my money! How does this pathetic company survive? My GP has had a robotic dispensary for 5 years. Every Jardines I've visited comprises a shabby shop, a small store-room, and several employees shuffling paper and falling over each other!

Head Office Executives. A PLEA

Head Office Executives: 0 Stars. Kingfisher staff 5 stars
A PLEA. (For the second time)
Why are the staff not being able to get necessary and important stock? This can cause customer frustration and, unfortunately, abuse.
Is this because of your failure to provide any form of cohesion to your erratic system?
All the staff in this branch are hard working and honourable ladies. For years I have been totally satisfied with the service that has always been faultless (Despite the chaotic transitional period in the last 12 months).
All the staff turn up because they love and enjoy what they do, serving and working for their customers. They get to know their customers, they can talk on a first name basis, understand their needs and that builds trust and confidence. They are at the coalface deflecting your failures. Those that leave are never replaced. Why?
Everything seems to point to money saving/ profit over efficiency/staff safety and customer satisfaction
Please, please, please, without hesitation:
1) Treat your hard working staff with respect.
2) Treat your customers/clients with respect.
3) Get the staffing sorted.
3) Sort your flawed systems and failures out

Yet again....ordered prescription through their app on 21st July, GP approved it same day, went to collect it today (6th August) and not only wasn't it ready, they hadn't even downloaded it! Staff are nice enough but it's an absolute shambles, I'm meant to be at work and I'm stood there for forty minutes waiting....

But leaving a review doesn't seem to change anything - does anyone read them Jardines?

Always the staff's first day at Kingfisher...

It always feels like it's the staff's first day at the Kingfisher Jardine's pharmacy in Newport Pagnell.

Today it was even worse, they are incredibly rude, unprofessional and I've repeatedly lost or misplaced my prescriptions, sometimes only need to be found underneath a trolley in the back corridor after I insisted they look for it further.

Awful service. Totally unprofessional.

Dreadful Service

So slow…..takes forever to process a prescription, always a huge queue/wait if you choose to collect, and a process to collect that is out of the dark ages - considering the prescriptions are electronic the dispensing isn’t, it’s a joke.

Plus use their collection machine, you’ll be lucky if you get a message within a fortnight to say it’s ready - and that’s when it’s working. As I can only order a prescription a fortnight before I run out, not really fit for purpose.

Currently waiting for my prescription to be ready - already a week gone by.

Shenley- getting back to a good place

Shenley- used to be a great chemist, went down hill when all the original
Staff left, has taken a while to ‘get back on its feet again’ but with the new system and process in place it seems to be getting back to a good place again. The pharmacist lady is always on hand to answer questions and hands out prescriptions when the counter staff are busy. Hopefully the good service will continue!

Loosing Jodie at Neath Hill is a…

Loosing Jodie at Neath Hill is a massive mistake by Head Office. She is worth her weight in gold. This girl had the place running smoothly. She knew the customers, knew what meds people could and couldn't take. Staff has all changed on a Saturday. Meds that should of been available to pick up aren't even in stock and told to come back Monday. I can't even trust that this bunch of staff are even going to make sure the correct brands are going to be issued! Shocking moves by upper management to try and cut corners by restricting the amount of medication branches can order and not valuing its good staff so you loose the good ones. All you're going to end up with is poor quality staff which will make you a bad company to go too!

A pharmacy shameful for Towcester

For most of 2024 and all of 2025 the level of service at Towcester Jardines has decreased, while the incompetence and ability to operate an adequate level of organisation has increased. I order 2 very common medications every month, wait 7-10 days after GP approval, but every month my prescription is not ready, after usually waiting 10-20 minutes I am told to return after another 3-4 days. When I return and check the bag contents I find one of the two medications is missing with no note or acknowledgement of that by the staff, when I question it I have to wait another 10 minutes to then be told they’ve run out or it wasn’t ordered, then told to return again in another 3-4 days for it. While I am in the store I witness patients having the same issue. Jardines is the only pharmacy in Towcester, therefore a captive audience with no competition to encourage improvement. I prefer to shop local, care about the environment and don’t have time or financial resources to travel to other towns each month. When I enquire about their policy; whether it is standard practice now for them to only check stock, order and dispense prescriptions when the patient goes into the pharmacy? I am met with shrugging of shoulders and that they are short staffed with “people from head office came down to help out” this has been the response every month for at least a year! I am considering using a large online company too avoid having to order prescriptions inappropriately early or running out - perhaps if more patients also take this action along with reviewing and official complaints Jardines may take stock and provide the service their profits increase from?
