Poor customer service! Time effort and money wasted

Reserved a table for valentine's day. The earliest booking they had was 10.30pm.

Turned up and was seated and we were handed regular menus. There were valentine set menus which we were unaware of. By this point poppadums were already given to us without requesting them. We had after 15 mins of deciding and 3 waiters later we decided to go with a curry and a naan to share. It was fairly late so we didn't have the appetite to eat a huge amount. We attempted to place our order and the same waiter asked 'has anyone explained the menu'. He showed us the set valentine menu which was 30 pounds a head for poppadums, starters each main each a side dish rice naan and a dessert. Which sounded great if we were hungry. We explained we didn't want the food to go to waste and would prefer it if we could have just chosen from the menu which was our first option.

The waiter explained tonight was a set menu and there's nothing they could have done. He had to charge us 30 pounds. We were left with no choice but to leave the restaurant. The waiter said that's fine but you still need to pay for your drinks but not your poppadums. We said that's fine. The bill came through and charged us for drinks we didn't finish and poppadums we didn't eat. I believe the store manager came and asked if everything was okay. We explained and he said okay no worries.

Just thought this was really poor customer service considering we wasted a whole evening waiting to eat at this place then to be given a menu with several options to then be presented with limited options. Its misrepresentation and was of our time money and effort since we booked a hotel to stay in Birmingham as we're not from here.

Wouldn't even go again to try the food..the customer service was disgraceful.

Cutting-edge Indian restaurant

Cutting-edge Indian restaurant with fast carrier and great meals - very flavoursome but mild, not oily or heavy in any respect. We had poppadoms with a tray of chutneys to begin - would really suggest, they have been scrumptious. The vegetarian segment of the menu has several popular dishes supplied as aspect quantities or you can have one as a complete size primary direction. I opted for 2 of the small dishes - saag paneer and mushroom bahjee - with rice and chilli garlic naan. The flavours had been fantastic and the mushrooms succulent. They did no longer skimp at the paneer, there has been plenty of it for a facet element. The chilli garlic naan became lovely, and the ideal quantity. i would say that in case you experience plenty of rice and naan bread with your meal, one of every among two won't be enough, however it turned into just proper for us. If I had one gripe it'd be about the clattering trolleys used to serve and clear tables, however it's one of these minor thing whilst the entirety else is extraordinary. moderately priced too.
