My rating is based on excellent customer service and and a process to protect consumers making online purchase decisions for high price purchases by reducing risk. I have dealt with another very similar company in the past who delivered a very flawed piece of jewelry and who soured my desire to buy anything valuable online.
I decided to try one more time, this time with James Allen. I was not disappointed. One of the pieces was going to be delivered after Christmas but after contacting customer service James Allen made sure that both ensembles arrived days before Christmas so that my wife would receive both on Christmas Day.
Also, it was very noticeable that James Allen took care of presentation and delivered quality. I was much more impressed with their delivery and process compared with the previous online retailer. The piece I ordered from the previous online retailer was nowhere close to the photo that depicted the piece of jewelry on their web site whereas the James Allen earrings were exactly like the ones depicted on their web site and are stunning.
The stones are brilliant and outstanding in their clarity and color. My wife loves them. The ring was also beautiful. The stone in the center of the ring was not quite the same as the picture, it was a little darker than I expected and less transparent but having done my homework I know that it is more difficult to get the a stone of that size with the same color and transparency. Even so, when I asked about that, customer service listened and I told them that if my wife liked the ring then I would be happy to keep it. My wife loved the ring and I love seeing it on her finger every day. Customer Service is everything and quality of product as well of course.
I am very pleased with the service and the products and I would certainly purchase from James Allen again without hesitation. Why go anywhere else after all the searching I did before selecting them and finding that my searching paid off. (I evaluated 5 jewelers before selecting James Allen).

Disappointed it didn’t work out
I’ve been shopping for a wedding ring for years and finally found, I thought, a great ring. Unfortunately it didn’t work out. It was listed as a 3mm ring (the diamond helix ring) but is 1.5 mm at best. I have returned it.
That said, I love the design and wish they had one that is actually 2.5-3mm wide.

I bought my fiance's engagement ring here. It was beautiful. When I received it they gave me a 25% off code to use for our wedding bands. When I tried to use it they said they were not going to honor the code. I spoke to a manager and he didn't care. I still bought my fiance's wedding band here,but I will buy mine elsewhere. They lost someone who would have been a lifelong customer.

Find a company that will treat you with respect even after the sale.
I’m very happy with the sales person that I dealt with and the quality of the product, but shipping and the people in your company that I dealt with during that process were horrific. I would seriously consider not buying from your company again just because of that.
