As with other reviewers, my problem was not with the actual program but with the insanely restrictive licensing which will not allow you to switch computers. I bought the program in 2017 and installed it on my laptop, my husband’s laptop and our desktop with the three allowed installs. The two laptops have now been replaced, so those copies are lost forever, and now my ancient desktop is failing to load it. Even if it would still load there, or I could manage to reactívate it, I’d hardly use it as I want it on a laptop, not a desktop that I scarcely use. At the time of purchase I assumed that the limit of three installations was to prevent wholesale sharing, not to prevent genuine users from using it for longer than the life of a laptop. Very unhappy, and would find it hard to consider buying a new license under these circumstances. I am rarely in favour of subscription models v software purchase, but this variation seems even worse than a subscription.

For me also a very unpleasant license experience with Jack Bridge. After a motherboard replacement a few years ago I apparently "lost"one of my license codes. I tried customer service, but:
1) They responded only after about two weeks (the longest I have ever waited for customer service from any online company)
2) They declined to help me reactivate my third license.
3) They did this with a rude e-mail
4) With people buying new computers all the time this licensing stuff is as old as their latest release (a very long time ago)

Conclusion: A company milking an old (at that time very good) program.

Bridge Baron or Wbridge or Q-plus bridge, Here I come.

Do not buy this if you value long-term value

I have been using Jackbridge for a few years now. I am 85 years old and I live on my own. I am very fond of the Jack6 bridge program which is well designed. When I bought Jack6 from Chess and Bridge in London, I installed the program in 3 computers giving me the option to use Jack6 whenever I am on any of my computers. I also own the latest Bridge Baron program.
I often format my harddisk to remove bugs etc from my computers. Unfortunately, when the disk is formatted, I lose Jack 6 with it . When it happened first, their helpdesk helped me with the re-activation. It again happened, but this time I tried to deactivate the program from my laptop and there is no provision for deactivation and I contacted the helpdesk again. They declined to activate it again. I asked them if I could remove this program from another computer and they replied "That is not an option we offer". I consider this insensitive and not in the spirit of the license condition. I have other programs, e.g., ChessBase 16, Bridge Baron etc. which I can deactivate before formatting. If I fail to do that I telephone their consumer support and they reactivate for genuine owners of the software, without any questions. I respectfully suggest the designer of this program to consider introducing the option of deactivation and not unnecessarily penalise genuine owners!
Beware any prospective customer/owner!
