Very long call hold times

At this point I have been on hold with Ivy Bank for 45 minutes and counting to speak with a representative about why I am unable to access my online account (no information is given when I attempt to login except that I am blocked and need to contact the bank to gain access). This is an infuriating experience. It’s the banks responsibility to ensure that they staff accordingly to meet call demand so customers don’t have to wait on the phone this long. This is only the 3rd time I have called the bank across a couple years and each time I have been on hold an obscene amount of time.

Shockingly Horrible Experience & Rude Manager

On May 14th and May 15th, I attempted to execute an external transfer from my Ivy account to facilitate an auto purchase for a special needs family member. My account holds a balance of $XXX,XXX.XX. Despite reaching out twice and finally speaking to a manager, I was informed that external transfers are not permitted. Furthermore, I was told that neither an external transfer nor a domestic wire transfer could be conducted.

When I inquired about accessing my funds, the response was silence. The transfer amount was $14,930.15, which would have left over $XXX,XXX.XX in my account. Despite maintaining professionalism, the manager, Stephen, was exceptionally rude. I offered to verify my identity, but the response remained the same: I was denied access to use my funds and advised to use another bank account.

To clarify, I hold accounts with Citibank, Discover, Trustmark Bank, and Guardian Credit Union. We have been with Guardian Credit Union for over 21 years, Discover for 18 years, Trustmark for 7 years, and Citibank for 2 years. I opened the Ivy account to ensure our funds' safety given federal deposit limits. In 27+ years of banking, I have never been denied access to my verified funds.

Guardian Credit Union successfully completed the transfer to the dealership within 90 minutes. I fail to see the value in maintaining an account with Ivy Bank if I cannot access my funds, perform a transfer, or complete a wire transfer. Accounts with balances approaching $400,000 are significant, especially for a bank of your size.

I’d like to thank Maverique Bruce for going above and beyond.

I’d like to thank Maverique Bruce for doing a amazing job with helping me out with my depositing my money into Ivy Bank and also with helping me along the way with questions and answers throughout my experience with Ivy Bank.
Recently I tried transferring monies from Ivy Bank to my personal bank and it wouldn’t go through. Maverique stayed on the phone with me patiently while I entered everything through my phone. I can honestly say that when I woke up this morning my blood pressure was elevated until I heard him say “ Welcome to Ivy Bank, this is Maverique “ I knew right away that he’d help me out.
I’d like to give Maverique 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars do going above and beyond.
I’m not sure if he’ll get to hear this review or not but if he does “ Well done young man, well done.
Thank you and have a great day.
