Can't speak highly enough of Ivor. Did a set of photo's for us and even in windy weather came out really good. Do not hesitate in hiring him for any photo needs.

Ivor was so helpful, patient and knowledgeable. I had a problem I could NOT crack on my own in ON1 and had been banging my head on the wall for ages, but going through it together the solution was reached and I am a very happy snapper! Thank you Ivor.

Ivor was an excellent instructor, providing detailed information in a format suitable for beginners as well as those more familiar with cameras & photography.

The curriculum was well laid out, covering technical as well as artistic components and included handouts summarizing each session.

Was a lovely time outside around the amble pier, got this course as a birthday present to help learn to use my camera better to take higher quality photos. We went through how it works, whats needed, different settings and even a little bit of history. Would 100% recommend to others! The hand outs you get given from the course also help to remember everything you needed to!

Within an hour of my fist lesson you could tell Ivor has a passion for photography and to teach it. I recently did a beginners workshop which involved three 2 hour lessons with Ivor. Ivor has taught me to be so much more confident with my camera and how to use its settings, controls, understanding the exposure triangle & how to take amazing photos which aren't blurry or over/under contrasted. I had chose Ivor over other photographers I had contacted due to the fact that i noticed he is an ambassador for OM Systems, as well as being a known reviewer on the latest unreleased camera equipment, product reviews and articles on Fstoppers.com, and his articles are all a very good read which gave me the confidence he knows what he's talking about. I found Ivor very patient and very helpful with the amount of questions I had asked over the lessons, he was very happy to help, and also answered questions out of his normal working hours. The lessons were 2 hours long, which absolutely flew by, but I noticed Ivor didn't mind going over the allocated lesson time which was really nice.

Ivor went above & beyond to make the photography course I purchased for my sister a really enjoyable experience. She loved it & learned an awful lot of tips & tricks.

I have just completed a beginner’s photography course with Ivor and it was excellent. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about everything he showed me. I have learned so much from him which I will take forward in the months and years to come developing my own photography skills.

I recently did the bronze workshop with Ivor after several years away from photography. I had purchased a DSLR camera and great telephoto lens but only had 3 weeks to get up to speed before heading off to the USA national parks to try and put things into practice. I had 3x 2-hour sessions with Ivor which were fantastic. He went through the basics in the first session and then showed me how to get the most out of my new lens in session 2. The final new mystery to me was photo editing and software which we covered in the 3rd session. This has greatly helped to get up and going again, whilst hopefully taking some great shots! Ivor is also really prompt at getting back to you by email if you have any refresher questions after the sessions.

I would recommend working with Ivor. He's a really nice guy and the sessions are in beautiful coastal Northumberland which is an added bonus!

I have really benefitted from doing the Bronze level of lessons with Ivor. Ivor has the perfect combination of high level expertise, professionalism, friendliness and patience in all his lessons. He has helped me to better understand photography, navigate my way around my camera and all its buttons, and to start taking much better pictures. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ivor for lessons. You also get to practice in some beautiful venues. Thank you Ivor, and I look forward to some further tuition with you.

Ivor was extremely good at explaining complex photography & making it understandable to a complete beginner. Completely recommend this course.

Fantastic course for novice. Anyone who has a camera and just wants to get the best out of it and learn the basic but very important techniques which really can make all the difference to your photos. Ivor was great, everything was explained at my pace with hands tutorials around the Northumberland coast line. I really enjoyed each session and was excited by the end of each lesson to practice the techniques shown. Always on hand to answer any questions between sessions and offering great handouts I would highly recommend Ivor to anyone looking for a bespoke one to one learning experience

Ivor was a patient and enthusiastic teacher. I feel I know a great deal more now about how to use my camera to take good photos. I had never considered photography as art but Ivor helped me to see how I could achieve a far more artistic effect.

Ivor gave me two hours of one to one teaching on one day, and a second session taking photos of the sun rising over Coquet Island.
He is a great teacher, with an easy manner. He managed to explain some important technical concepts in a simple way, without bamboozling me. He is hugely experienced, but clearly enjoys sharing his knowledge so as to encourage his students to learn more.
It was just what I needed to get me out there taking more photos with a real camera, and to put down my camera phone!

My friend and I took a Basic Photography Course with Ivor which consisted of three two hour sessions. We are both beginners struggling to get beyond Automatic Settings. Ivor has given us the know how and skills to get beyond the basics and be a bit more adventurous and creative. Ivor is a lovely person, very patient. We also enjoyed exploring the harbour area in Amble and checking out the cafes and fresh fish for sale.

Ivor has the knack of bringing out and seeing the best in his pupils, how ever advanced or amateur they may be. He is extremely patient and generous with his skills and insights. I would have no hesitation in recommending his courses to anyone at whatever level they are in their photographic skills

Another successful trip down Learning Lane. Ivor is so patient and The Farne Islands make a good studio so I had a really fulfilling day (good photos too as it happens). Highly recommend Ivor's training for anyone.

Very useful sessions which have helped me get to know the capabilities of my new camera. Interesting to be challenged and guided to look at subjects from different angles, consider composition of the picture you are taking. Now I need to go out and use the techniques I have been shown!
