Very good experience
I’m not really good writing reviews. This one be easy. Everyting went according to a plan. Everyone was very helpful, answered every detail of your questions and even the staff did not speak English, there was always someone who will translate for you or the nurses took a phone out and translate it for you. Medically, when something is not right, they know what to do and no need for communication. If you seeking for 5* hospital accommodation - it is not, but it’s clean, and have all what you need. You won’t eat, you will be recovering with amazing staff who is always there for you, smiling, and happy to assist. If I would be in different place - let’s say very posh hospital - I would not be able to do any more, than over there.

Amazing experience!!!
Had the best experience with this clinic. Mustafa was 100/10 at his job. From day 1, he made me feel super comfortable with everything and the procedure and even advised me on everything. He was forthcoming with information at all times. When I landed, he quickly answered his phone and arranged for transport to come and get me. I stepped into the hospital and he was already waiting for me. Excellent customer service. The hospital was great too. I had an awesome team working day & night to make sure I was okay. Even with the language barrier, my needs were attended to. They encouraged me to walk to feel better. Always with a smile on their face! My surgeon came to see me more than once during this time too. Best experience so far. So much support esp coz I came by myself.

My sister and my self had the gastric…
First off Melissa was absolutely amazing , nothing was too much for her but personally I think she’s working for the wrong people. My sister and my self had the gastric sleeve. The level of care wasn’t great , fine up until you had the operation and was left to fend for yourself . Hospital wasn’t the cleanest in my opinion. Language barrier was definitely a problem with the nurses and every so often they would talk and laugh while looking at you , which made me uncomfortable . With other hospitals you are given medication and protein shakes within the price . We were given nothing and had advice from a different hospital on what we SHOULD have been given . My brother had the gastric balloon which was put in with a stomach ulcer . That was a big NO NO but we wasn’t to know as the information was not given to us there . He was going to have the sleeve but was terrified as you can imagine it’s a big operation. The surgeons came in calling him a chicken and doing chicken noises and impressions ( very unprofessional ). And on having the balloon removed yesterday after just 8 days, one of the medics basically said it was over inflated hence why he was in constant pain and constantly vomiting. Mustafa on arrival had his son with him but yesterday when my brother in law had it out he came with his wife and child to collect payment (again not very professional) all after having my gastric sleeve he came into my room with another lady who was about to have it done without asking me to tell her how easy it was etc which I didn’t find very professional AGAIN. It seemed a case of you’ve paid and we have done what we needed to do and then the care was bare minimum. Also my sister has a latex allergy an was wearing a red band to show nurses there was an allergy, which then resulted in my sister having a severely swollen hand for two days as they used latex on her. Which could have been a lot more serious. No gloves were worn when they were changing my IV . Blood was seeping in to the IV and I was looked at like an inconvenience. I won’t be recommending to anybody …..
Last Friday before leaving Istanbul to come home , Mustafa told us that the balloon removal would be 250GBP as we were already clients of the hospital , but we were told 445GBP including one night in the hotel , when he asked Mustafa about this before removal yesterday , Mustafa brushed it off and said Melissa deals with finance and took the 445 and went .

We would like to clarify that patient safety, dignity, hygiene, and professional conduct are core principles for us. Any behavior that causes a patient to feel disrespected, anxious, or uneasy is taken extremely seriously. Your comments regarding staff behavior, communication style, and professionalism have been escalated to hospital management for internal review, as this does not align with the standards we expect from our partner institutions.
Regarding post-operative care, medication, and nutritional support: treatment protocols and inclusions can vary depending on the procedure, clinical findings, and hospital policy. That said, we acknowledge that clearer communication should always be provided so patients fully understand what is included, what is medically required, and what may differ from other hospitals. If expectations were not properly managed, we take responsibility for that gap in communication.
The concerns you raised about language barriers are also valid. Patients should always feel understood and reassured, especially in a medical environment. Interpreter support is intended to prevent exactly this kind of discomfort, and we regret if it was insufficient at any point during your stay.
Latex allergy awareness and hygiene protocols are matters of utmost importance. We are very sorry to hear about the reaction your sister experienced. This feedback has been treated as a priority and shared with the relevant medical teams, as patient allergies must always be handled with strict caution.
Concerning the gastric balloon and its removal: all procedures are carried out following medical evaluation. However, we understand your frustration regarding the information provided and the distress this situation caused. Pricing for balloon removal can vary depending on urgency, hospital involvement, and whether accommodation is included. While there was no intention to cause confusion or discomfort, we acknowledge that the situation could and should have been communicated more clearly.

Excellent care and support from start to finish
This is my second time with Istanbul Obesity Center, and once again I had a great experience. I had the Endoscopic 6-Month Gastric Balloon procedure, and from the very beginning I asked hundreds of questions. They never once got tired of me and were always patient, reassuring, and honest, which made me feel very comfortable and informed.
On the day of the procedure, the hospital was very clean and well organised. Mustafa was there to support me, especially when I got scared about the needle (I really hate needles!). He was calm, kind, and completely non-judgmental, which helped me so much. Everything happened very quickly, and before I knew it, it was done.
The nurses and doctor were incredibly friendly and supportive. Even though their English was limited, they made a real effort to communicate and reassure me throughout.
I’ll be honest, the first three days were uncomfortable, but they checked in on me regularly to see how I was feeling and made sure I was okay, which I really appreciated.
What really stood out to me is that they are still checking on me now, even after I’ve returned back to London, which shows how much they genuinely care about their patients.
I would genuinely recommend Istanbul Obesity Center to anyone considering a procedure. They are honest, straightforward, and offer amazing care at very affordable prices.
A big thank you to Mustafa for making my experience comfortable and to Melissa for patiently answering all of my questions. I’m very grateful.

3 months post Gastric balloon
I came from London to get my gastric balloon placed here. Mustafa, my agent set everything up, from the appointment, to all transits and the hotel. He is very warm, friendly, happy to help, and efficient. He knows his stuff and will guide you every step of the way. His communication is swift (it's like he never sleeps too lol). The procedure was quick and all hospital staff were good. The balloon will be uncomfortable for about a week but will settle in and will do it's work by occupying space in your stomach so you physically cannot eat as much as before. It's still important to have a healthy diet and exercise after a few weeks to get the best results out of this. In this 6 months really try and curve your bad eating habits or the weight will simply just return after and this investment would be worthless. Other than that good luck and definitely use Istanbul Obesity Centre.

Positive Experience
We found this place after some extensive research and my first point of contact was Melissa. She was incredibly helpful and explained all the options and prices very well plus the coordination with travelling etc.
Soon after I was in contact with Mustafa who was very friendly, attentive and positive all around. He assured to meet us at the hospital which he did. I was also referred to a dietician before the procedure for our presurgery diet and prep which was extremely helpful.
After confirming our flights, our surgery dates and hotel stay were finalised.
Upon arrival to Turkey, we were picked up and taken to the hospital for pre surgical tests and examinations, and spent the first night at the hospital, everything went smoothly and the staff and doctors were all very helpful. My recovery after the procedure was a little more difficult then my other companions but this was mainly due to my preexisting conditions, I was told I was 1 in 10 patients statistically this happens to and the symptoms should clear up within a week which they mostly did. Due to my health concerns the doctors kept me at the hospital for an extra night to let me recover better which was just what I needed. I felt much stronger the next day and was able to transfer to the hotel.
Overall the trip was successful, everything was well organised and easy to book and plan.
Mustafa was a big help all the way through and still continues to be over what's app.
My only point to improve would be for the nurses to be a little more careful and vigilant with patients like myself with preexisting health issues who do not respond as the majority of patients do and deal with them accordingly. Otherwise everything was great and on point and all service were excellent!

Good experience overall, the doctors and nurses were very positive and kind, and our guide Mustafa was great. The language barrier was a little difficult to get past with the nurses, but we began using a translator and everything went smoothly after that.
