This was our third trip with Inntravel, and, as usual, it did not disappoint! We hiked the Tour Du Mont Blanc, and loved it! Though the hiking was very challenging (lots of up an down, rocky paths, an... See more

A terrific walking holiday near Porto in Portugal. The walks were lovely, a good level for us, we stayed in some truly lovely Quintas and a very good hotel in Porto.

We walked the East Lycian Way in late September. The agents in Turkey, Middle Earth, were excellent, with great communication, transfers that were on time, in comfy vehicles, and hotels that were small, personal and in fantastic locations. Food was excellent. The walks were harder than advertised with unrealistic times- it was still hot, however we are seasoned hikers and would have struggled to complete walks in the times quoted. GPS maps definitely needed as the written instructions were confusing.
Inn Travel, however, were not up to scratch. Our itinerary was incorrect and I was unable to get a timely response- no replies to emails, waiting for half an hour on the phone, missed callbacks -over two days. When I finally got through I spoke to an agent who said she knew little about the trip we were undertaking. On arrival in Turkey, I checked with the middle earth rep who said the timed transfer back to the airport was incorrect-he amended it. I was told on one phone call to Inn travel that a new phone system was being installed and that it was August so the team were very busy.

We travelled this year to the Dolomites and had a lovely time with another couple. A local train strike caused some confusion for us on the trip to Bolzano. But once that had passed our trip went very well. Accommodation and food were excellent. Yet, the true stars were the mountains. A postcard view at every turn!

Inn travel did not tell us that the Zingaro park was closed ahead of time
We found out by chance. Very poor. Also didn't get twin beds despite requesting it.

Excellent choice of varied accommodation in well chosen locations, suitable to each Island. Special mention of Casa do Antonio, Sao Jorge, a family run establishment, with ‘personal’ touch from fruit & local homemade biscuits available throughout the day and a selection of hot drinks; to calm and caring assistance given when we needed it after overstretching ourselves on Serra do Topo walk.
Be aware proper id is required when using the inter-island ferries for all passengers.
We took advantage of the round the Island local bus on Faial (runs once a day at lunchtime) which was a cheap and interesting way to get an overview of the whole Island, with added interest of being used by locals in particular school children.
When moving between Islands, we found it useful to pack a day bag, as when arriving at the next hotel before check in time, rooms were not always available, but everywhere was happy to store luggage.
Our final destination at Terra Nostra Hotel was fabulous, with the beautiful gardens/arboretum complete with thermal pool attached to the hotel. Our sunrise dip in the thermal pool frequently on our own is a memory we will treasure for many years

The Secret Appenines walk was a great adventure.
Inntravel provided excellent walking notes with good recommendations about what to do and what to see. The accomodation provided was on the whole very comfortable with a few stand outs regarding aspect and cuisine.

We enjoyed an excellent one week walking holiday in the South Tyrol organised by InnTravel. In late September the weather was variable but did not interfere with our walks and added an extra spice with snow one night on the highest trails and peaks. Views and scenery were spectacular. The organisation was superb. We were sent a small ring binder with details of flights, taxis from airport to hotel, and information about all aspects of our week. All the routes were described in detail with GPX files for my Garmin and iPad. The hotel was excellent and we particularly enjoyed dinners with four courses of local ingredients and tastes, accompanied by excellent local wines. The hotel staff were always available and helpful. We have no suggestions for improvement - the holiday met all our expectations and more.

A wonderful holiday in the Dolomites - 4 nights acclimatising in Val Gardena, then a week's walking in the High Dolomites. Wonderful scenery, great walk notes, marvellous views. Hotels from good to superb. Train travel from London in both directions was well planned, with all the tickets and transfer notes.

This was our first walking holiday and I couldn’t be happier with the information, recommendations and walking routes that Inntravel supplied for our Swiss 6 day break. Everything was well planned, from the train travel through to the excellent accommodation at the Resort La Ginabelle in Zermatt, the half price fare card which was well worth while having, and the amazing walks. The route information was excellent, very detailed and accurate, allow a little extra time than stated on the walks, due to the amount of time needed to stop and take photographs of the outstanding scenery! In the build up to the holiday it was so nice to be able to call Inntravel and speak to someone easily, and ask any questions, and get the answers without any hassle. Very professional company, friendly and knowledgeable, would definitely use again.

we have booked several holidays with Inntravel over 20 years or so and our recent one showed that Inntravel is still a good company to use for a self guided walking holiday. Pre booking queries are responded to quickly and you feel that the company really knows the hotels and areas well and can be relied upon to ensure the holiday runs smoothly. We even had a message mid holiday to notify us of an issue arising on one of the suggested " gentle"walks.
The Hotel La Perla in Ortisei was excellent , with good food, a spacious comfortable bedroom, well thought out bathroom, very helpful reception staff and immaculately clean. It was also so lovely to find a paper " daily info sheet" on our breakfast table.

We have just returned from a walking holiday in the Dolomites organised by Inntravel. This is the first time we have booked through a company and found everything extremely well organised. The hotels, transfers and of course the walking were fantastic. All the hotels had swimming pools and spa facilities which were perfect at the end of a long day on the hills. The walking notes provided by Inntravel were very helpful - we used Kamoot too - but the descriptions of the walks were very accurate and up to date. We would book through Inntravel again and would recommend them to anyone considering this type of holiday.

We had a great holiday based on Menton and Villefranche sur Mer on the French Riviera. The two hotels were excellent, and we found some good local restaurants for dinner each evening. There is fine walking, mainly along the coast, although we found some of the paths a bit rugged for our abilities. we travelled by train, with overnight stops in Paris to extend our holiday. Even though there was industrial action in France at that time, with the guidance of hotel staff we had no significant problems.

We booked the hill top towns of Tuscany tour. The scenery, towns and walks were spectacular. Two of the major routes followed the pilgrimage route between Canterbury and Rome.
The weather was sunny in late September and the temperature was around 22c, perfect. The hotel accommodation was satisfactory, given that it was a walking holiday. Volterra and San Gimignano were our favourite stops. The hotel Relais Della Rovere in Colle di Val d'Elsa was stunning, although, we were less impressed with the town.
The walking route instructions were very accurate and easy to follow, plus, the GPS maps downloaded on our phones gave us extra reassurance.
We booked an extra night in Siena, and enjoyed the city very much. We also booked two nights in Florence as an add-on. Florence was so busy, even in early October. We didn't enjoy this so much, particularly as our booking of the Uffizi Gallery was cancelled due to an Italian strike action.
The only thing that downgraded our holiday to a 4 rather than a 5 star was the flight experiences.
We requested indirect flights from Leeds/Bradford rather than direct from Gatwick. Sadly, with only an hour changeover in Amsterdam, we made the connection to Florence, but our cases didn't. A mix up between Lost & Found at the airport, and KLM, meant we requested we collect the cases when they arrived, but KLM took it upon themselves to deliver to our hotel, more than 48 hours later, which meant that we missed two walks while we shopped for essentials, and spent time on the phone to Inntravel, the airport and KLM trying to locate and repatriate our walking gear.
Finally, through no fault of Inntravel, Storm Aimee intervened with our return, meaning that we missed our connection in Amsterdam, and had to wait over ten hours in Schipol airport for a flight the next day. As thousands of travellers were in the same position, we couldn't find hotel rooms in Amsterdam, we tried six hotels in a 5km radius, with no luck.
No KLM assistance around at 11pm at night.
Lesson learned, accept the hassle to getting to Gatwick for a direct flight, which for us in North Yorkshire meant three trains and an overnight hotel stay for the early flight, and expect potential storm disruption at this time of the year.
We would go again, but arrange our own flights next time.

The information provided up front is comprehensive and well laid out. The holiday was very enjoyable with the choice of hotel being excellent. It was very relaxing though also active and healthy.

We booked for a 7-day self-guided cycle tour of the Austrian Lakes. The organisation of the holiday was efficiently taken care of. We could go away, knowing everything would be ready for us and it was! From the flight booking (which was optional) to the hotel bookings and bag delivery, it all worked so well. The routes we took on bikes were just spectacular. The hotels were all different but well appointed. I had an electric bike and my husband had a normal bike. The trips each day were manageable and enjoyable, with plenty of time to stop for a coffee and cake. I would use Inntravel again for another fab holiday. Thank you.

We have been travelling with Inntravel for over 20 years walking to all parts of Europe. We have never been disappointed, their attention to detail with their walking instructions, history of the places we walk through and the outstanding inns and hotels they find for us to stay in make Inntravel our go to walking company to travel with. Malta again proved their standards are still excellent

We had a lovely holiday walking in Northern Portugal along carefully chosen and varied routes, through beautiful scenery. The walking notes and background information provided by Inn Travel were excellent, along with restaurant recommendations and suggestions of what to see in the villages and small towns we passed through. Accommodation was in small hotels and a self catering granite house, typical of the local area, with a treat in a converted monastery hotel at the end. Great holiday!

This was a total rip off. We had four night of hotel, one was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, the other was great. We were charged 2000Euro for the rooms and three transfer of less than 10 miles each. I would not recommend this company. I am attaching photos of the hotel. One is their towel, the other is the sh.t we got out of the drain in the shower. I called them but, of course, you can't talk to anyone. I am really unhappy with these people. When I add the prices that we could have paid for these on our own, I come up with 1100 Euro. What a joke.

We had a fabulous trip with Inn Travel walking the Hill Towns of Tuscany. The hotels were exceptional as were all the maps and associated paperwork. This was my second trip this year (Istrian Peninsula in Croatia) where we had the same very positive experience. We are planning to go to Puglia next year and are hoping that Inn Travel add Corsica to their catalogue!

The choice of hotels close to the main features of each city was perfect. The hotel at Ronda with dining terrace overlooking Puente Nuevo bridge was magical. The train connections went smoothly with helpful advice from Inntravel. The visits to cathedrals in Seville and Cordoba and the Alhambra were a must as were evening tapas watching the world go by.
