I’m relieved injoy closed down for good…
I’m relieved that Injoy has closed down after what happened to my daughter five months prior to them shutting down. The place was poorly run and lacked even the most basic safety standards.
My 2-year-old broke her arm and suffered concussion and may have potentially injured her neck after landing on her head on the trampoline. I arranged an appointment to view the CCTV footage, hoping to understand what happened.
From the moment we arrived, Alexandra (one of the managers) was defensive and extremely rude. She showed no concern or offered any apology. Instead, she immediately blamed my daughter, completely disregarding the involvement of an older child — and this was before we even viewed the footage.
She was reluctant to show the video, falsely claiming only the police could view it. This is incorrect — under UK GDPR Article 15, I have the right to access footage involving my child. She also made it clear she was in a rush to organize a party, despite me only being there for ten minutes and having traveled 1.5 hours to get there.
When I raised concerns about the lack of safety, she became even more defensive. There was no staff induction video playing that day, we were told grip socks weren’t necessary, and no staff were actively supervising the trampolines. In fact, the footage showed staff sitting in the corner while my child was clearly in pain.
Alexandra told me it was entirely my responsibility to supervise — which is alarming, considering this is a business marketed as a safe, child-friendly play environment.
I wasn’t there to cause trouble or pursue legal action — I just wanted to understand what happened to my daughter. But the dismissive and unprofessional response I received was deeply concerning.
It’s clear this business prioritised profits over the safety and well-being of children. Frankly, I’m not surprised they were shut down by the HSE.
