I don't even care about US politics.

But is painfull obvious 50% of the content is leftist propaganda.

Beyond it having become an overly politicized platform, it has also become extremely hateful towards anything that suggests there's a bit more nuance to be had than just agreeing to everything on the extreme side of liberal. I had moved to 9gag before, but came back because I have been often accused for being a 'libtard' there, for trying to explain there's a lot of middle of the road solutions to be found rather than becoming hateful towards entire ethnic groups and whatnot. Was down voted to oblivion on imgur for suggesting a slightly more centrist view then what they hold dear. My replies where I tried to explain myself further to not get treated like I was a racist monster disappear as soon as I write them. Not ok in the slightest.

As a disclaimer, I am for equal rights for all, an inclusive society and am approximately a social Democrat. But apparently I wasn't extreme enough to not get lots of hatred from the community.

Stay away if you are a creative person. I started posting my art (which takes days to finish) and got abused by leftist cult members (dont know why) they hated everything and the mods relish in the hate or delete your own comment that you posted if you disagree with the haters. So you feel sick to the stomach, deleted app straight away.

About half the time I try to go back to a comment I have left I notice that it has been removed. The mods are removing whatever they feel like that does not make for a healthy place on the internet where people of all kinds can discuss and share their views.

Hate to stop using what used to be a nice site where I’ve had an account for over 10 years but over moderation has killed it.

Once a great site for... well, just about anything fun. Cat pics, memes, interesting photography. Just a fun place to kill some time. This lasted for a while, but sometime around 2015-2017, the site changed. It's now a Leftist hivemind/echo chamber/circlejerk, full of some of the most hateful rhetoric I've seen on the internet. Nobody with opinions outside of the Hivemind's approval are allowed.

There's little to be found in the way of humor or anything else that used to make the site good now. Just hate. Lots and lots of hate.

I thought Reddit was bad but Imgur took it to a different level. Things are bad and are only getting worse because of the current administration. Sites like this would never be tolerated if they were conservative.

Many years ago, this was a positive website sharing memes and interesting photos. It's degraded into an extremist left wing community where they openly encourage violence on people they despise and disagree with. I feel sorry for anyone who takes Imgur seriously. Don't let your kids go on this site.

I loved Imgur for so long but since 2020 it's became a echo chamber for left wing biased propaganda. I think of myself as being fairly neutral but when force fed rhetoric I find myself pushing in the other direction. Every other post is bashing anything deemed as "right wing" or Conservative. Blue haired trolls sit behind their keyboard churning out hateful bile and one look at the comments tells you the disease is catching. If you try to be impartial or God forbid you challenge this and you're shouted down from the rooftops. For the past year I've barely commented on the site and after reading some really ignorant posts over the past week I've decided to part ways with Imgur once and for all and deleted the app. I'll miss the platform but the community is a disgrace and so far off the mark it's terrifying.

healthcare, police brutality, wealth inequality, gender theory, systemic racism and the fascist/neo-nazi/white supremacist GOP, all mixed together to form an ocean of meaningless, political diarrhea that stretches out as far as the eye can see. Imgur has essentially deteriorated into some sort of deformed news outlet, with virtually nothing in the way of ordinary content. even the memes are political. embarrassing.

They need to curate their content. Lots of illegal content. Also a ton of medical misinformation. This is incredibly dangerous and they should be held liable for the lives that have been lost due to their editorial decisions.

Imgur is literally just a place for socialist college kids to cry about conservatives.

THIS SITE IS A PEDOPHILE HEAVEN! Somehow this site has become dominated by child predators, if you post anything that calls this out it will be downvoted and the mods will remove it. I'm not kidding, find any image of a child and it will be filled with accounts that have been on the site for a while lusting after them.

I just started using imgur app. I'm a photographer and I enjoy social media for entertainment. I like looking at photos as well as sharing them. I was disappointed as soon as I launched imgur because of the comments; not just comments but the amount and the hate. It bad enough to read angry rude posts, but imgur has a following of some of the deepest darkest disgusting vile evil sociopathic mean ignorant bullying hate I've observed on what's supposed to be a site for any and all to use without dealing with political extremism. If imgur is a political site then it must identify itself as such and if it leans far to the Left or Right then it must warn all who enter. It's a great app to see the kinds of human beings that are out there. Sad day for humanity. Is this what we've become? Petty, cruel, small minded, resentful, and self pitying people?

Imgur used to be a great website, but somehow it has turned into a nasty place where people get bullied for their political leanings (by left-wing bigots). A lot of nasty toxic posts get upvoted and anyone who disagreed gets downvoted. Just an example of a comment that was left for me lol "If these comments seem toxic to you, then you are probably a plague rat and the poison is meant for you anyway."

This website has gone to s**t.

I joined and I was a member for about 3 months. I posted a lot of content and a lot of my material went viral and I gained various accolades and awards, but the hard part was dealing with what seemed like the majority of users there... which in my opinion were the drecks of society. I've never had contact with so many people who complained simply because you posted a video clip with music, even though the clip when it was published would already be muted and if you wanted to hear the sound all you had to do was unmute. But no they felt like they had to warn everybody else by posting the 'do not unmute' sign or tell everybody not to unmute the sound. Even though I replied to these complainers and told them my rationalization which is that I felt everybody should have a choice to whether they wanted to listen to the sound or not and no one else should dictate or take that choice away from them. In addition there are a lot of nasty, ugly people there that gave me a hard time and when I stood up to them and gave it right back to them suddenly I gained a reputation as being a bit*h and a very ugly person and even one user there called me the dreaded 'c' word which most women hate. They also hated any post or sharing of a post which came from TikTok. And most of the time will downvote your post simply because it's from that SM site. In addition there is so much rudeness and insensitivity there which just tells me the intelligence level of most of these trolls and the person that called me the c word, that was the straw that broke the camel's back and I decided enough is enough and I deleted my account.

The website claims to be safe but constantly there are posts of pornstars, nearly nude women and disgusting comments following. If you have any differing opinion, political, scientific or otherwise you will be ridiculed by the community and insulted no matter what. The entire staff including Alan and Sara are complete gutter trash or play favorites on topics and users. The website screams elitism but I guess that shouldn't surprise anybody seeing as it's based in San Francisco. Do yourself a favor and stay away. No scratch that run away, fast and far. If you thought Reddit was toxic you haven't seen nothing yet.

The website is full of disgusting alt left propaganda biased towards Marxist ideology & identity politics. Christians are vilified and are basically portrayed as the worse people alive. Capitalism is horrible and there are numerous misinformation memes & articles against Conservative politics. And if you try to comment against it, you are down voted into oblivion and banned from commenting further. This website represents everything wrong with the USA (world) today. And I'm Canadian. Absolutely disgusting site which is the definition of hate. But as a Conservative I believe in free speech so I don't believe in shutting the website down.
But I can tell you that the people running this site are blocking free speech from the right.

This is no mistake. Many users have quit using the site or never use it to engage with the community. In all honesty who can blame them? You can look at all of the other reviews here about the website, while many are low effort, they ring some truth with very similar accounts.

Not every post/image is about politics thankfully, but many are. If you do not share the same beliefs & opinions you will be treated as a plagued outcast to be ridiculed & shamed. Do not go looking for any political discussions that don't lean heavily left here because you will not find it before it's beaten down or removed outright.

I had used Imgur for many years for all of the memes for my enjoyment, which many other users I'm sure had as well. There was many a slow going night that browsing Imgur helped pass the time when it was far less political as it has become now.
