Freegle Reviews 

I have offered a few items on freegle, ie chairs and hi-fi/cd/radio. I like the concept of not just dumping things and also trying to help others.
However on ALL the items that I offered was to result in being let down!
I contacted by people wanting the items and agreeing pick up times etc only for the people not to come and also not responding to my messages ref collection.
All very annoying when you have waited in for them. They were all desperate for the items and I had refused other people the items in trying to be fair on first come basis, it makes you wonder really.

We all know we should be reusing more things and saving them from landfill - thankfully Freegle helps take the hassle out of finding things a second life.

A fantastic place to recycle. I hate throwing things out as I think its a waste. Listing them on Freegle means things I no longer want or need can be put into use by others. I've also found many useful things on there that I can re-use. Its a two way street. Highly recommended.

My mum died and needed to clear the house. Chary shops shut furniture recycling stores closed. So Freegle saved the day people contacted and collected items. It was easy to list items contact was simple. Top marks. Would give more stars if I could. Thanks Freegle

I've been using Freegle now for about 2 years after trying to find an alternative to Freecycle as it's so difficult to use on a phone - and the desktop. Freegle is a pleasure to use on both devices.
I've only had positive experiences so far of people coming to collect things. The majority are super-friendly and polite. Even if you don't get a "thanks" afterwards then at least your item isn't going into landfill.

I’ve been a Freegle giver for six months now. It’s a fantastic way of saving the planet one small step at a time. And your unwanted items become others treasures - or at least tide them over when in need. The site is easy to use, I have always operated on a contactless collection basis and though I have had the odd bod let me down the vast majority have been great to deal with. Latest Freegles were a small chest freezer and a double glazing pane of glass, both answered someone’s need. Brilliant!

For the most part, I have an excellent experience with freegle. Other users have been responsible and helpful. What lets it down is a very few other users, but they don't hang around long. You can't knock a site back for things it cannot control. The idea is superb.

It's a great way to rid yourself of clutter and sometimes help people out who would be struggling. You can do contact free collections, just the same as doorstep deliveries.

It's a great site - recycle, upcycle and indeed just help people out with stuff no longer needed - could be anything - pots and pans, lamps, children clothes toys...endless list - the important thing is you not adding the landfill with items that can still be used - I recently gave away bed to a young person who got her own place..doing good never killed anyone ;)

I love freegle. I have been able to share excess plants, books, clothes etc etc with some wonderful people and I have made some firm friends along the way. Yes there will always be time wasters and no-shows but they are in the minority. Most of the people on here are genuine, warm, and wonderful. I cant rate this site highly enough

I love freegle, it helps clear space of your clutter indoors (for more junk lol) without having it having to go to landfill, helping someone out in the progress, you can offer almost anything from a cup and saucer to a large bed or wardrobe, its so easy, someone answers your post asking for the item, then you make arrangements for them to come collect it, normally very quickly and smoothly. Well done Freegle for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.

Wanted a sofa due to covid we had some financial constraints on us, glad to know there's a place that brings like-minded people and make them a community for sharing stuff. Highly recommended

Easy to use, and a good service to local communities

Great service to our community. It feels good to be able to give away something I no longer need to someone who needs it.

Easy to use website and app, gave away several things that weren't worth the hassle listing on ebay or marketplace, to polite people who will hopefully get more use out of them, win-win!

Freegle is so amazing. Not only to recycle, this is a place you can spread love and happiness. I have received a dining table yesterday. It definitely makes my day.

I posted a Wanted for fence posts and a lady responded saying that she had 6 posts left over by the bulders when they had finished her extention but was worried they might not be long enough for me. I went to have a look and they were perfect for the job, we exchanged greetings from a safe distance and I took them home to fix my broken fence.
Freegle works and that is the best recommendation that I can give it.

Freegle is my little corner of the world that is actually just and kind and generous. If you want to reduce your impact on the environment by buying new less or if you have a low income or want to declutter and give your stuff to someone you know will use it then this is your site. I managed to furnish almost a whole flat with stuff i got for free and i use it every week to ask others if they have something they don't need before i think about spending any money. It's a dream. The website is easy to use too and there's volunteers keeping it running smoothly.

I love freegling. I hate throwing things away that someone might need, it makes me feel so guilty! I also love getting things that may have been used, but still have a lot of life in them. Thanks to the generosity of other freeglers, I have received quite a few things that I am still using. Thank you, all freeglers, and keep on freegling.

Don't throw it out freegle it

Some reviewers have claimed that posters are not genuine and maybe selling on products that are given away. In my view, the bottom line is 'do I want it- no', 'can someone else make use of it - yes'.
There are other options for selling items but if you can avoid landfill and help someone out then this site is good. You may get timewasters - but that is not the fault of the website and most of the time I have very positive experiences.
