Oakham Overlap Shed 10 x 7 Review Update

Also t/a iLiketosell.com. So ILikeToSell aka ILikeSheds.com have finally replaced the shed floor after a lot of discussion and providing pictures of shed floor rot to the OSB board. Because at first their suppliers didn't believe that the floor had been treated and said the treatment had failed, so I wasn't best pleased. Since then, they have agreed to replace it. I will say that the customer service assistant at ILikeToSell was pleasant and helpful though. The problem initially was with the suppliers. This time we will not only treat the floor, but we are also going to find some extra durable protection for it, as OSB board (like chipboard) seems to soak up the damp easily within the first couple of years and can disintegrate, so extra protection is recommended for this budget flooring. But thankyou to the customer service assistant for your help.

Appalling service

I ordered a summer house and paid in full in May, and was originally given a delivery date for May 21st. That couldn’t go ahead as they then said it couldn’t be erected for some time given the pandemic. Since, then, the only communication with them has been from me. I was given 3 more delivery dates, sept, nov, and finally Oct 29th, having been assured it would be erected then. This week I rang to ascertain that this was on track and would go ahead as promised, only to be told delivery would go ahead but putting it up would be sometime later as their fitters we’re very busy!! Unbelievable.!!
So after having our money and waiting for 6 months I’ve cancelled the order. Appalling service.

Shocking service

Shocking service, still waiting for shed, I understand as you state that it has been difficult during these times and whilst I fully appreciate that, your care for your customers is shocking. Twice we have been given a delivery date and twice it’s not arrived, with no phone call or email of explanation.
I think constantly using Covid as an excuse is pretty poor, it shouldn’t affect your communication.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I ordered 2 12 x 8 sheds one was for my husbands 60th Birthday. We put them up and within a week the panels started coming apart BECAUSE there was not enough overlap on the panels, some had splits in them because the nail gum used when manufactured was set too high causing the wood to split!
They have replaced the doors on both sheds but they are not much better than the original ones. We cannot replace the panels as the sheds are side by side and there's no room to be able to replace the panels.
I have sent photos of the conditions of the sheds as requested, but are now ignoring my emails.
The sheds are made at a company called Shire and this company are selling them.
I'm sending the last email today, if I don't get an acceptable reply I will be taking this complaint further.
PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY IT TAKES LONG ENOUGH TO EARN.

One star is two too many

One star is two too many. Ordered shed November 2019 Christmas present for my husband delivered and erected before Xmas. Problems from word go. One man to erect 10 x 8 shed After erection faults included leaking windows and splits in wood. January repair windows, advised by repair man too many faults for him to fix. Arranged after several calls e mails for repair 26th March Then covid lockdown happened. Understood. Then after work could resume numerous phone calls e mails to them. No response. Then sent notification of impending court proceedings, Agreed new replacement shed in July with Jo Delivery 13th August because they want to check all is well with new shed. Guess what today 13th August no shed. Phone call to them as no contact from them. No shed until next week as not built yet. Asked for full refund now waiting for phone call Do Not Use Them I have asked for phone calls from management on several occassions it never happens.

Wooden pirate ship

I agree with the reviews left by the unhappy customers below.

In my case I have ordered two sheds of which one has been delivered via Power Sheds in a reasonable time frame. So if ordering, order a power shed as power sheds contact you and arrange the delivery themselves.

The second shed I ordered is from Marlborough sheds and I ordered it in early June. I am still waiting for the shed.

It is the customer service that really lets down this company as they do not answer the phone or reply to emails from me requesting updates so I can at least know when to expect the shed. I don't mind a delay its just the lack of customer service and being kept updated.

Due to the poor level of service I did an internet search and found these reviews all with similar problems / issues. I decided to write a review on here in the hope I would receive an update from ilikesheds as all other channels have failed miserably.

I would avoid ordering from this company altogether and order elsewhere to save yourself the hassle that I am experiencing.

DO NOT USE THIS COWBOY COMPANY. WE ORDERED AND PAID IN FULL FOR OUR SHED ON 31 MAY 20 ,AND THE WEBSITE ADVERTISING THAT THEY HAVE 8 IN STOCK .I HAVE CHASED AND CHASED BUT THEY RARELY REPLY, EMPTY PROMISE AFTER PROMISE IS SEEMS, AND COVID IS A VERY CONVENIENT EXCUSE.

I have now started legal action to get my money back as i am unable to get through on the phone and they have ignored my last 4 e-mails, at the very least they should be keeping customers updated as this is not difficult with technology these days , my only conclusion is they just don't give a dam about any of there customers and clearly don't deserve the business. I will order from a local company who i can trust when i get my refund . If you read this ilikesheds my order no is 385823 and i would like you to refund in full.

Woopie I have finally got a reply though sadly they couldn't be bothered to contact me personally, again excuses why we haven't had our shed delivered, despite there website saying they have 8 of what we ordered in stock. DO NOT believe that they are looking into it i emailed them on 8/7/20, 14/7/20,17/7/20 ,and the 29/7/20 how long does it take to "look into it " none have been replied to ,so how would i know what's going on behind the scenes if they can't be bothered to inform you, though they seem to have managed it when threatening legal action and putting posts on here. so you have now been warned THIS COMPANY WANT TO TAKE YOUR MONEY AND SIT ON IT FOR A WHILE WHILE THEY MESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AROUND, NOT CARING ABOUT THE WIDER IMPACT OF TO THEIR CUSTOMERS ,who in my opinion this company do not deserve. Do not buy from ilike sheds they are complete and utter cowboys. If any potential customer is unsure i will happily send you the emails i have sent and copies of letters to them.

Would give zero stars if I could

Would give zero stars if I could, waited two months for a shed and they hadn't even planned the delivery. Two dates came and went still no shed. The customer service is appalling one of the lovely replies I received were "if shes not happy then she can cancel it" . Absolute disgrace of a company stay well away from them . I understand due to covid that delivery dates were changed but the way the email replies were worded were quite rude I was very patient all I wanted was a confirmed day so I knew when to plan for it .

Disappointing

I agree, this company couldn’t care less about anyone!

Our bar arrived 3 weeks ago and we didn't have enough felt for the roof. We were short so purchased some from Wickes. I emailed the receipt and asked Kayleigh for a reimbursement 3 weeks ago but I've not even had a reply. Such a shame as if we received the small refund I would have posted 5 star and sent pics of our painted shed. Not happy.

The Reason This Company Is So Awful!

The reason everyone on here is complaining, is that this company couldn’t care less about anyone!

I have a friend who worked there, they were expected to knock out two sheds a day, with minimal training, and poor quality, sometimes dangerous, equipment, for minimum wage!!

The management treats everyone like they are disposable. The whole company is a mess with a high turnover of overworked and underpaid staff.

They have no integrity.

But then what do you expect from “Ilikesheds.com” and actual family business?

Avoid at all costs!!

EDIT: The Company have reported this review to try to get it removed!

Warning - Do not buy from this company!

After a lengthy wait, my shed arrived but without the roof panels, glass and batons. After waiting for weeks and numerous calls and emails being ignored, the wrong roof panels were delivered and still no batons.
I waited patiently for a delivery date for the right panels and the week I was given, there was no delivery. As they missed the deadline I had given them, I decided to cancel the order and request a full refund. I am now waiting for collection but who knows when that could be! And even if it is ever collected, I’m sure there will be a lengthy wait for my refund.
I have never dealt with a company like this. They simply do not care about their customers and the current situation is no excuse. Even if there are delays, you should communicate with your customers. Disgraceful !!

This company is an absolute joke.

This company is an absolute joke. Even allowing for COVID their customer service is zero. I wish I had seen these reviews before ordering. I ordered in May and paid for installation of the shed and base. When the installer arrived he said that I had only paid for installation of the shed, and not the base.😳
This was late Friday July 17th. Customer service told me they would ring me on Monday 20th to arrange exchange of bases and new delivery date. No phone call !!!!!!! I have emailed, I have phoned, but nobody returns your call or answers your email. I am of course considering cancellation of my order, and visiting their premises in person. They appear to have no clue about how to run a business.
Wow. They just called me.
Still can’t give me a delivery date though.

Never again!

Same as everyone else. Placed the order, took my money and no communication on delivery even though I selected the delivery date on the live calendar.
after weeks of no contact, finally managed to get through the phone and I was told I would get a refund and an email confirmation, but no confirmation. Now unable to get hold of them again.

Covid is no excuse not to get back to customers. You should not be taking orders and money from people if you can not handle responding to them or delivering what they paid for!

On the phone line is an automated message which says dont panic, they have been trading for 12 years..what a joke!

I wish i had read this "trail" before…

I wish i had read this "trail" before ordering.
Pretty much the same as all others......
Fully appreciate these are difficult times (for all of us), but it takes no time to answer an email request for an update....if they really "aspire" to delivering any form of customer service.
BTW, ilike sheds, posting a copy and paste response on here does nothing but further destroy your "aspiration" to offer good customer service.
I guess i have to put it doewn to one of lifes mistakes and learn from it.
I will be taking a rdie over to Bedford this wk, to see if they really exist.

Shambles! Terrible service, faulty overpriced products.

This response is a straight cut and paste from the lies on your website and means nothing. Your parts that supposedly make up a shed remain on my driveway. Please collect by Monday or I will have too take to dump as I have a delivery on Tuesday.

I purchased a shed on 28 April 2020 with delivery on 14 May 2020. No contact from the company until I contacted them on 14 May 2020. Eventually the shed was couriered on 3 June 2020 and arrived with over 50% of the pieces damaged.

I had to work with the damaged parts as far as possible as I had a contractor on site and we were 6 weeks behind with my project due to late delivery, to do the build. 4 replacements parts were still required, as they were damaged beyond use and it took over 3 weeks for these to arrive as they missed out two parts in the first courier. During this time Natalie refused to take my call and only responded when I advised that I had disputed the payment with my credit card company. When I wrote to her on 8 June 2020 about the replacement parts I received no reply until today, as I was speaking to my credit card company.

Here is her reply:

Good afternoon,

I’m afraid we are not liable for third party costs and therefore would not be able to provide you with any financial recompense for the issues that you have experienced. As a company, we also do not offer compensation for issues experienced.


If you try to claim any money back through your credit card company, we would dispute this as a fraudulent claim as we have provided the goods that you have ordered and the replacement parts required.
