If, like me, you just don't know where to start with getting fitter and stronger, the day you start at Iceni will be the day everything will change. We have been members for over 4 years and are proud to be amongst some the biggest advocates of this amazing gym. You will receive expert tuition from the best coaches who will adapt any exercise to whatever level you are. They will guide you, encourage you, keep you accountable and celebrate your progress with you. The only decision you need to make is to turn up - the coaches will take care of the rest.
We have gained so much from coming here - strength, fitness and confidence. It's been such a privilege to have trained with the best and make some amazing life-long friends along the way. The Iceni Community is unique - warm and friendly, welcoming and encouraging.
We are moving out of the area so our Iceni experience has sadly had to come to an end, and it's actually one of the hardest things to leave behind! The fire that Iceni has ignited within us to keep fit, strong and motivated will continue from afar and we hope to stay in touch with everyone there.
Joining Iceni is the best decision we have ever made and we are so grateful for what the experience of being a member has given us.

Aged 63 I decided it was time to go to the gym for the first time in my life. Back and shoulder problems plagued me and everyday objects were getting heavier, a bit like myself!
I realised I needed expert guidance to avoid injury and wanted a supportive environment – not mirrors and poseurs.
Iceni’s small group personal training was the perfect fit, After a 30 day trial I never looked back. Eighteen months on, thanks to Jan, Gemma and Olly’s guidance and encouragement, my strength and health have improved significantly and I have far fewer issues.
Iceni isn’t just a gym, the team make training fun, which I never thought possible, it’s a friendly, supportive community with a great social side too.

What a great experience so far. I’ve been going for one week and visited 3 times in that first week with the next week planned. The staff are exceptional and only increase your weights if you feel comfortable with the increase. The staff all bring something to the training sessions I have had so far and watch your technique to ensure that you do not hurt yourself and ensure that the muscle you are using is the muscle that needs to be engaged, repositioning if you are feeling it in the wrong place. The facilities are great with showers and towels available if you need them. Great vibe, all the people that I’ve met including other members have been approachable and friendly. So much nicer than just going to a gym. This is not just a gym it’s an experience providing you with a new found confidence.

The coaches are incredible! They really understand your goals and any limitations you might have. It’s a friendly, community-driven place where everything’s taken care of for you. I love that all I have to do is show up... the session’s ready, guided, and focused entirely on helping me reach my goals.

I would definitely avoid Iceni Gym Colchester
I developed significant muscle injury and injury to my shoulders after attending Iceni gym, nearly 5 months ago. The instructor pushes you to use heavier weights which is not always suitable for everyone.
However the place is nice and the instructors are friendly.
I am still receiving physiotherapy and I attended the gym from February to April 25

I love this place! I’ve never been a gym person but this isn’t like the soulless gyms that most people think of. Super friendly, not at all intimidating and really fun, it’s addictive!

Best decision in my fitness journey I ever made. Opened up a new way of training and looking after my health now and in the future. Plus its really good fun!

Iceni is a very special place and it's definitely way more than a 'gym'.
I've now been going for almost 2 years and can say it's the best decision I have ever made. I'm stronger, fitter, more resilient and now view fitness and wellbeing in a whole new way.
You can't compare it to other 'gyms' - what Iceni offers is unique! The coaches are all amazing and the warm and friendly environment is so welcoming to walk into after a busy day.

Great place , a gym i look forward to going too , made some good friends . Trainers are top notch , brilliant at what they do. Best gym I have ever been too .
