Hydra Is the Only Prop Firm That Feels Like a Real Trading Community

Hydra has been incredible from day one. What really stands out is how interactive and present they are within the community. They communicate constantly, they’re hands-on, and you can feel that the people running Hydra are actual traders — not just a corporate team behind a logo.

They’ve built an environment that genuinely supports you in becoming a professional trader if you approach it with the right mindset. It’s more than chasing payouts; it’s a space designed to elevate your craft. The quality, the structure, the communication — all top tier.

I’ve already purchased three products from Hydra and look forward to doing even more with them. Highly recommended.

Var — this is the kind of review that hits home for us.

You nailed exactly what we’re building: a real trading environment run by real traders, not a faceless prop firm. The community, the transparency, the hands-on support — that’s the heartbeat of Hydra, and it means a lot to see it recognized.

We want traders to grow with us, not just chase payouts. Hearing that you’re elevating your craft and coming back for more products tells us we’re doing it right.

Appreciate you being part of the Hydra family — and we’re excited to keep leveling up this journey with you. ⚡️

Lost my account on the 3rd trade due to slippage when placing the trade by $17 ridiculous no warning at all just straight account closure.
What a waste of $30 was up a few hundred on the account aswel.
These prop firms are are just one big scam they want you to fail and will make it near impossible to stick to the rules. Avoid

Hi Jon,

We hear your frustration — but we want to clear this up for anyone reading.

A hard breach on a funded account only happens when the equity drops below the daily or overall drawdown limit. Slippage alone cannot close an account unless the trade already exceeded the allowed risk. This is a standard rule across every prop firm, and it’s clearly displayed on our Challenge page and FAQ before purchase.

We also checked our system and didn’t find any support tickets from you. If something genuinely went wrong on execution, we need the trade ID to investigate — we can’t resolve or review anything without you reaching out.

We’re more than happy to look into your case properly. Please email support@hydrafunding.io
with:

• Your account number
• The trade ID(s) in question
• A screenshot of the breach notice

If your account was impacted by abnormal execution, our risk team will review it immediately.

We don’t “want traders to fail” — we pay out daily, and profitable traders are the backbone of Hydra. But risk rules apply to everyone, and violations will always trigger an automatic closure.

Reach out so we can look into it properly — we’re here to help.

Hi Vish,

We’ve reviewed your case in detail, so let’s be clear for anyone reading:

🔹 You received your full payout — the $144 was processed without issue.
🔹 After a payout, the account’s max drawdown moves back to the initial balance, which is stated clearly in our FAQs and confirmed by support before every withdrawal.
🔹 By requesting a full withdrawal, you removed all profit buffer — leaving no room for drawdown on the next trade, which is why the account breached.

This wasn’t a platform error or “scam” — it was simply the drawdown rule you agreed to at purchase and were reminded of again before payout. Our team even walked you through your exact numbers step-by-step.

We understand it’s frustrating to lose an account, but the rules weren’t hidden or unclear. Hydra processes every valid payout, including yours, and we’ll continue to operate with full transparency.

There seems to be issues with…

There seems to be issues with Gooeytrade which is what this prop firm uses.
1. XAU charts didn't align with Trading view charts; CS response was that the prices are market prices.
2. Prices of currency pairs (e.g., XAU and BTC are highlighted as the same in the P&L column yet have 2 different PV). This is rather confusing (?)
3. When writing to CS on this, and checking back on gooeytrade, there seems to be extreme price volatility all of the sudden. Have you had this experience? If so, what is the best way to resolve it?

Hi Jen,

Appreciate you taking the time to outline your concerns — and thanks for trading with Hydra. Let’s clear up a few points for anyone reading:

Chart differences: Gooeytrade uses aggregated institutional liquidity feeds, which can show slight variation from TradingView (which relies on retail data providers). The pricing you see on Gooey is always market-executed, not simulated.

Pair labeling: What you’re seeing with XAU/BTC is a display formatting issue within Gooey’s interface — not a data error. The P&L and PV columns pull from separate feeds, which can look mismatched visually but are correct in execution.

Volatility: Markets like XAU and BTC are naturally high-volatility assets, especially during overlapping session times. What you experienced wasn’t a system bug but real market movement reflected in real time.

That said, our team is already working with Gooeytrade on UI improvements to make chart and column data clearer for traders. Transparency and accuracy are non-negotiable for us.

If you’d like us to review your account data directly, just reach out to support@hydrafunding.io and we’ll take care of it.

I got funded with this prop firm and got a payout, but my experience is mid because they have starting balance drawdown after the first withdrawal which should be on their challenge table when buying the account because it's such an important factor to consider when funded. I ended up breaching the count just from withdrawing my profit.

Hi Lucas,

Appreciate you sharing your experience — and congrats again on securing a payout. That’s always a win in itself.

To clarify for future traders reading this: our drawdown policy post-withdrawal is clearly outlined in both our Trader Agreement and FAQ section. Once the first payout is made, the account’s max drawdown moves to the initial balance. Our team also reaches out to confirm with any trader looking to withdraw the max allowed profit to inform them regarding this rule and double check.

That said, we take your feedback seriously and will explore how to make this information even more visible during the purchase process. The goal is always full clarity upfront.

Thanks again for trading with Hydra, and we wish you continued success wherever you go.

The same predatory model other "prop…

The same predatory model other "prop firms" use. Demo trades with vague rules wording saying they may or may not hedge against your virtual trades (lol). They imply in one rule that some trades are real while others are not. Fact is that they profit from traders losing challenges (90%+) and every cent a winning trader wins comes off of their bottom line. Think about that before spending thousands with the dream to scale multiple accounts with fake funds in the millions. They need you to fail long term.
Here's a snippet of the rules: "For purposes of managing risk and minimizing transaction costs, we may offset or negate market risk and act as the direct counterparty to certain trades initiated in the Account. Such trades are executed at prices provided by arm’s length third parties. This framework is intended to ensure you receive real market execution on your trades, while simultaneously allowing us to manage risk dynamically by routing existing positions or future orders to third parties for execution as we deem appropriate." -ask yourself why they "may" trade as counterparty to manage non-existent "risk" on virtual trades. As support continuously stated, they just "may" trade as counterparty. As you can see form the language, it's anything but clear and can mean what you (or they) want it to mean.

Just as their reply to my review shows, it's marketing language. They will not be able to give you a specific as to how they make any money other than from failed challenges. Payouts are their marketing costs, failed challenges their main revenue. That's the model.

Hi Sebastian,

We hear your frustration — but let’s set the record straight for anyone reading:

🔹 Hydra doesn’t hide behind vague terms. Our challenge rules are publicly posted, clearly written, and visible before purchase. No fine print. No traps. Funded accounts trade the exact same way as challenges with 0 manipulation.

🔹 We don’t profit off failure — we reward skill. Our business is built on payouts, not disqualifications. In fact, we’re one of the few firms in the industry that honor payouts even if your account is breached.

🔹 Our model is sustainable and built by real traders. We’ve seen the shady side of this space too — which is exactly why we built Hydra differently.

If you've had a direct issue with our platform, we’re happy to review it. But blanket accusations without any specific reference to Hydra aren’t productive — and they’re not accurate.

We’ll keep doing what we do best: fast payouts, clear rules, real opportunity.

so far I'm happy with the whole process. I purchased the instant crypto funded account, made a few trades and first payout all in a week.

Bryan — certified first-mover.

You didn’t just get funded… you locked in the very first Instant Crypto payout in Hydra history. $2,325 in the bag in under a week. Legendary stuff.

Appreciate you dropping a 5-star without even being asked — that kind of energy doesn’t go unnoticed. We already featured your payout on our socials, and we hope it’s just the first of many.

And yep, we get it — 33% consistency is no joke, especially in crypto. But that’s what makes the wins clean.

Respect for trading it right. Keep stacking.

Banned after taking a profit split

I would like this off with some positives...... I think the website is good and the structure of the challenges are good and well priced. I became funded and worked my way into profit on my $100k account. I grew this account to $118k. I decided to withdraw my 75% profit split which came to $13.6K. I was warned that if I took all my profits out I would forfeit my account and would need to start a new challenge. This was frustrating but I accepted what they said and made the decision to take profit and buy a new challenge and start again. My payment arrived in my rise account in good timing which I was very pleased with.

However, after trying to purchase my new challenge I found out that they had blocked me from new challenges and sent me an email to say I am no longer welcome to participate in their program due to risk management. I wonder if this would have happened if I had a smaller payout!

For traders who are purchasing challenges, be aware that they obviously are not looking for profitable traders and will happily accept payments from you until you make a decent size payout.

Its a shame, they looked so good from the outside.

Background on me, I am funded with FTMO, Alpha Capital, FX2 and have been for a couple years.

My response to Hydra Reply..... This is the first message I have received from you with any level of detail with any form of explanation to why you closed my account. The challenges I took were aggressive style trading but never risked more than the daily amount as the account would be closed after 5% so I am struggling to see how I could risk more than that! You had multiple opportunity's to give me a warning or place me on risk review ect if you felt that way but decided to share nothing. You were happy for me to purchase accounts and spend money, I wonder if I would have been banned if I did not request a payout of that size. Before requesting my payout I emailed you asking if there was a opportunity to scale my account or build with the business if I took a smaller withdrawal and left profit on account. You replied no.
Your reply to my review states that you are looking for long term, ecosystem for discipline, consistent traders. I showed that by growing my account 18% over 24 trades with a 60%+ win rate and asking for a pathway to grow my account.

I am disappointed with the lack of communication and explanation.

Hi Sam,

We appreciate your acknowledgment of the positive aspects of your experience — including the payout process, pricing, and overall challenge structure. However, we need to be fully transparent for the sake of other traders reading this.

Your account was closed due to repeated violations of our Prohibited Trading Practices policy — specifically for gambling-style behavior and excessive risk-taking that breached both margin and risk management thresholds.

To be clear:

Your margin utilization reached as high as 86%, consistently.

You were risking 30–60% of your account on individual trades or clusters of positions.

With drawdown limits of 5% daily / 9% overall, you were trading at 6–12x the allowable risk.

Our policy explicitly prohibits “all-in” or coinflip-style trading, and you agreed to those terms when joining. We’re not looking for traders who hit one home run and blow out—we’re building a long-term ecosystem for disciplined, consistent traders.

You were paid your full profit split ($13.6K) on time, with no issues. But after reviewing your trade history and risk profile, our risk team determined this type of activity is unsustainable and incompatible with Hydra’s model.

We stand by that decision, and we wish you the best with other firms aligned with your approach.

No sneaky rules, just fair trading

You know how some prop firms have hidden conditions that make you fail? Not here. The rules are upfront, and I passed my challenge without any stress. Now, I trade with 5:1 leverage on BTC, and it’s been an awesome experience. Also, withdrawals are quick—my first one in ETH took just a few hours! It’s refreshing to find a firm that actually delivers.

Hi Mike,

We appreciate the compliment on our professionalism — we work hard to keep things fair and trader-first. That said, your review leaves out a key point.

Trading during restricted high-impact news events is clearly outlined in our Terms & Conditions and in the Challenge Rules page before purchase. These aren’t “hidden” — they’re part of how we manage firm risk and ensure a level playing field for all traders.

We absolutely welcome skilled traders, but compliance with rules is non-negotiable. Many firms don’t enforce these standards — we do, and it’s what allows us to stay fast, consistent, and sustainable.

We wish you the best on your trading journey and appreciate the time you took to share feedback.
