AVOID... Absolutely disgraceful company...
Absolutely disgraceful company. I was a loyal FitTrack customer for over 5 years before they rebranded to Hume. My original scales worked perfectly, but I was effectively forced into buying their overpriced Body Pod after support for older devices was dropped. They advertise a “45-day no questions asked” refund policy - which is completely misleading.
I requested a refund within 10 days because the Body Pod barely worked. It constantly disconnected, failed to sync, and produced wildly inconsistent readings. Instead of honouring their guarantee, they made the return process intentionally difficult, insisting THEY had to confirm a fault first - despite this being nowhere in their advertised policy.
What followed was weeks of delays, endless hoops to jump through, and replies taking 4-5 days each time. By the time I finally demanded a refund outright, they conveniently claimed the 45-day window had expired - entirely because of their own stalling tactics.
Avoid this company at all costs.
This works as a scale, but that’s it
This works as a scale, but it is certainly not worth the extra $.
I have not had issues with weighing in or using the app, but it is too imprecise to be useful in the way it is advertised. I wanted to track the changes in my body composition, but the pounds of muscle and fat bounce all over the place. If my weight goes down one day, it will show that I’ve lost muscle and gained fat, and when the weight goes up, it will show that miraculously the muscle has come back and the fat has disappeared. It might help show trends month after month, but after 3 weeks I can say it is not helpful for week over week trends, which really deflates my weight loss motivation.
I pretty much hate this thing for reminding me every day that I’m an idiot for buying it.
I’ve tried to give Hume the benefit of…
I’ve tried to give Hume the benefit of the doubt for over a year, but honestly my experience has been pretty disappointing.
Initially, I actually liked the scale and app. I was tracking consistently and had built up around 6 months of body composition data. Then I had an issue with the app and support advised me to delete and reinstall it. I specifically asked whether this would affect my saved data and was told it would be fine.
It wasn’t.
I lost around 6 months of tracked progress overnight, which was incredibly frustrating considering the whole point of buying this type of product is long-term tracking and analysis.
Then came the Hume Plus subscription issue.
I signed up for what was advertised as a 3-month free trial through Apple, but was charged £99.99 almost immediately. I cancelled the subscription straight away and contacted support, who told me it had to go through Apple. Apple never responded, and after multiple emails I eventually just gave up. Hume extended the subscription and added the 3 free months, but I was still left £99.99 out of pocket for a service I didn’t really want.
The biggest issue though is accuracy and reliability.
The scale claims very high accuracy, but I’ve had readings where my muscle mass supposedly increased by around 4kg literally overnight. Unless I accidentally turned into The Hulk while sleeping, that’s obviously nonsense.
The app insights also don’t line up remotely with Apple Health data:
Hume says my average daily steps are around 2,000
Apple Health shows closer to 12,000 over 6 months
Hume gives my sleep an “F”
Apple Health consistently scores my sleep around 90/100 with 7+ hours nightly
At this point the insights feel more random than useful.
I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but this product is marketed as a serious health and body composition tool, and right now it feels more like an expensive gadget with unreliable data and poor subscription handling.
Hopefully Hume improves the app, data syncing and customer support because there is potential there, but in its current state I wouldn’t recommend it.

Waste of money and they will not accept returns . Scam company
Totally disappointed on the scale I never…
Can't comment on the scale I never received it. Ordered it three weeks ago and nobody can give me an answer. They keep saying it's gonna be delivered the next day. They're using some third-party center unique unique I've never heard of that before. I think they're doing that because they don't want to use FedEx and UPS and the others which are more money but are required by eBay and Shopify. I used to have those stores so they told me they would give me a refund within 30 days or I said a refund for what I never received my package you should just give me my money back away. We have to inspect a package upon return and inspect a package. How is that associated to me? I've never receive the package so I can't comment on the scale. I just actually researched and I didn't realize there was so many poor reviews of this product. I'll go spend my monthly 100. 110 for a Dexter scam. I've already got my money back call the bank and disputed my charge last night. Money is back in my account this morning. I'll send her a screenshot. Don't worry about it.
I’ve used this for a couple of months
I’ve used this for a couple of months. The scale is inaccurate, it shows wildly low body fat figures, “metabolic age” and inconsistent heart rate reads. Two measurements taken one after the other can show ~30bpm difference in heart rate. It’s fiddly to use, doesn’t always connect to the phone app and even when it does can still fail the measurement. My previous smart scale was a £40 Amazon buy, which was much more consistent than this thing - and that scale could store data so I didn’t need to connect my phone every single time.
This is up there with my worst ever…
This is up there with my worst ever purchases. I have spent so much time
trying to get the Bluetooth to connect that at times it’s been almost an hour and still nothing. Then it works for a day or two then back to no connection for a few days again. I have literally spent hours trying to connect with nothing but disappointment. Don’t waste your money honestly you’ll regret buying one of these. By the way this is the only product I have ever given a bad review on
BAD REVIEWS EXTREMELY VALID TAKE HEED.
I purchased a hume body pod weighing scale and admittedly i did see bad reviews but their marketing is so good you somehow get sucked in. The scale for the price is very cheap looking once received if i was to price this for consumers it would be no more than £25/35.
You expect to see something robust especially for the £169 price tag the box it came in was a thin box definitely once you see it you realise you have been ripped off.
It does not live up to the advert or anyone advertising it . It actually weights you heavier than other reputable scales (way cheaper and others have mentioned). I literally thought this was the game changer i was looking for.
The purchasing of things is one thing but the refund process once returned was an absolute stressful thing i have never experienced such a harrowing situation other than waiting 2 months to get a refund. Once you can see the company have received back their item their hurry to pay you back is abysmal, something others did mention. Save yourself any stress and do not bother with this im sorry Hume health but i will give you credit for your marketing skills.
You really can sell any old tat if you market it well.
Better you buy a salter scale.
Hume Health Pod is very inaccurate
Hume Health Pod is very inaccurate. I took a Dexa to prove it, but unfortunately no refund from them regardless
Skip it. Device to App data connection is horrible.
The metrics are fine, but the app connectivity is horrible. I have tried everything from dampening my feet and hands, playing with the app, nothing is consistent. One out of 4 attempts are successful in having the scale data collected by the app….essentially making the scale worthless for the purpose they sell it.
Extremely unreliable
Extremely unreliable. I have some cheap, mechanical scales that are great for weight. I bought the Hume health pod for its extra features, the data can only be viewed in the app. After 2 months of weekly weigh ins the app has managed to sync twice. Today, with my phone next to the scales I did the weigh in 7 times and the app failed to sync each time. Useless. The data exists in the scales, but I cannot view it. An expensive mistake.
EDIT:I tried again an hour later. The scales gave an accurate weight, the app recorded it as 11kg, as a 6 foot tall adult, its a bit off.... The app reports that my weight is 11kg and it is high, and that my BMI of 10 is very high. The BMI is also wrong. The other data adds up to a total weight higher than by body weight, its a bit confusing!
The pod is inaccurate in its…
The pod is inaccurate in its measurement of weight compared to two other digital scales. It has given me an age of 46 against two other systems showing 56, I am 57. Now I know the tech does not work or moreover, gives inaccurate readings what is the point to it and I no longer trust anything it says. I also keep getting bombarded with emails giving me 44% off the new price. It’s clear they are no selling.
My advice. Don’t buy it.
Completly innacurate and false…
Completly innacurate and false advertisement, can get it even weight you consistently, bad customer service, slow as hell
Utterly dreadful product
Utterly dreadful product. Doesnt work at all, cant even get my weight correct, over 0.6kg wrong vs my professional machine at the gym - and bodyweight more than massively - 6% vs 15.9%. Worse still is teh so-called customer service - there is none, asked for a replacement, not even a refund, and experienced endless auto responses designed to wear you down to give up.
Do not buy!
Junk. Can get on the scale 5 times and all different weights. Gives bogus information.
Super light and cheap.
I fell for the advertising, next time I'm joining a fb group of anything high priced so I can see what it's really like. Fb group for hume is FILLED with unhappy people and people that have waited months for a refund after sending device to in. .Absolutely hate that I bought it
I was sent 2 defective scales that…
I was sent 2 defective scales that would not connect to the app. I’ve asked for my refund 10 times and am still waiting. They “ensure they’ve escalated the concern” but never do.
I wanted to track my sleep
I wanted to track my sleep. It is useless for everything. So disappointed. Total waste of money. Please don't buy one. I didn't look here first. Got totally sucked into their advertising. Absolutely idiot.
SCAM
Absolutely don’t trust a word. I had not even opened the package and returned the item. I should have not bothered spending the postage as they have still not refunded me despite their promises to process the refund.
Hume Health Pod Scale
Good morning, I was excited to receive my Hume Health Pod Scale. I'm not real tech suave and had difficulty setting it up despite all the videos and e-mails. The company responded when I said that I needed to speak with a human. Jerson called and spent an hour or more with us. He was patient and kind. I can't thank him enough for all his help. The company was great in helping us now being able to enjoy your product. Thank you and Jerson, Nancy and Joe Berenato
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I denied receiving of the package several weeks ago and still have not received my money back. Dropshipping scam business. NEVER buy anyting from them!
