Poor Washing Machine Installation Service and Lack of Customer Support
I bought a washing machine from Hughes, and their installation team came today. Unfortunately, the hose they brought did not fit our existing pipe. Instead of resolving the issue, they told us that our pipe was faulty or that we needed a larger hose.
This is a new-build property, and the previous owners had a washing machine installed without any problems. If Hughes offers an installation service, shouldn’t the installers have the necessary alternative hoses or tools to complete the job? Am I really expected to call a plumber and replace all the pipes simply because the installer did not bring the correct hose?
When I contacted customer service, the first thing they offered was a refund. I felt that the person I spoke to simply wanted to get rid of me rather than understand the situation or find a solution. I was told that, because the installation was free, another installer could not be sent out. However, offering a refund does not solve the problem.
Never again. If Hughes cannot properly provide an installation service, they should not offer it. Customers deserve to know what to expect.

Good morning Mr Atalan, I'm very sorry to hear of the issues you faced upon receiving your new washing machine. I will be escalating this the delivery company to look into further. Sadly the crew only have access to the brand new hose/pipes that would come with the machine, in the event the tap for instance too far away from where the machine needs fitting or doesn't fit existing taps etc - a new/longer hose would need to be obtained the customers end. Once I obtain an update from their customer services team regarding the failure I'm more than happy to call you directly and discuss this further. It would have been five stars but the delivery was not great. Had to ask them to remove packaging done with some reluctance. Younger man put on the delivery note that I refused to have it unpacked.
I noticed on the delivery note on the email I received was not the one I signed it is not my signature.

Today I renewed my washing machine insurance and the chap I spoke with over the phone, was a legend. He had to jump through hoops to get the information and correct quite a few misspellings of my email and name etc (which was done by other people previously). Nick L from Ipswich was courteous, helpful, and went the extra mile. After the conversation I felt like I had made a new friend at Hughes.

So Iv had a rental account with Hughes for well over 7 years now..... Well my tumble dryer broke, I had to wait a week to get it fixed witch is fine. I then got my dryer fixed for it to brake on me again the exact day it was fixed. I spent ages on the phone with this woman, can't remember her name but she just didn't seem to know or care, I was told I would get a phone call back. That never happend. This morning I ring them again and I speak with this lovely man called nick, who quickly shorted the problem out and refunded me for my issues. He said he had worked there for 20 years. The way he handled the situation today was amazing made me remember why I went with Hughes all them years ago thankyou NICK

The goods were as described and arrived on time. Communication was good but we paid for the connection charges and packaging taken away and this service was less than average . Not very friendly and the. Connection leaked when I put on the washing machine. I had to tighten the connection . Should have saved myself the money

We can advise a promotional installation service was running when you placed your order, as such no charge was taken for the install service. However, due to the experience you received we will process a refund for the removal service on your purchase as a way of an apology and we can confirm your comments will be passed on to the courier company for them to directly investigate the issues raised.
We do hope now you have resolved the install issue that you are happy with the appliance purchased.

Poor delivery
I paid for delivery, installation, and removal of my old appliance. However, the driver failed to make the promised 30-minute pre-arrival call and appeared ready to leave without removing the old tumble dryer until this was pointed out.
More importantly, no installation service was provided. The driver told us he did not know what appliance he was delivering and could not explain how to set it up. As the new appliance is a heat pump condenser dryer, we specifically expected assistance as part of the installation service we had paid for.
