While we did have an awful experience with a Huboo customer onboarding personnel (out of respect, I refuse to "name and shame"), Brad made up for these shortcomings for sure.
Bradley Dunne-Cruse is a professional, engaging and proactive gent. Brilliant individual; make use of him while he is available, because I'm sure he will be going places...
Constructively, having a 24/7 (or perhaps longer term than 9:30-4:30), support would go a long way. For many, they are beginning as part time; i.e. working on their business in "closed hours". Having such support during these hours would benefit.
Rachel has been very professional in the way she managed our relationship. Super reactive, very trustable person, always ready to help.... It has been a key sucess factor for us.
Collaborating with Huboo has been an intensely frustrating ordeal; I strongly advise avoiding them and not being deceived by their empty promises and attractive prices.
Initially, my experience was excellent. Everyone appeared very friendly, quick to respond, and readily available by phone. I was even encouraged to leave a favourable review during the onboarding phase, which I willingly did because everything seemed impressive, and the service appeared outstanding (or so I thought). Therefore, if you encounter glowing reviews, it wouldn’t surprise me if they were written before any substantial service was actually delivered.
The problems started post-onboarding. I received information that directly contradicted what I had been told earlier. It seemed that the representatives either lacked knowledge and made false promises to secure our business or, at worst, were deliberately misleading. I'd prefer to think it was a lack of training rather than intentional deceit, but it’s unclear. In retrospect, instead of admitting their ignorance, they seemed to say whatever they thought would make us happy and encourage us to sign up.
The integration process was far more complicated than suggested, and we faced several issues that the Huboo tech team had to resolve. Although technical integrations can often be challenging, our expectation for a smoother experience was based on the fact that we use a common Shopify website with a straightforward product portfolio consisting of four items and 15 different SKUs.
Significant issues included:
- Huboo attempted to charge us extra for services they had initially stated were included—this happened on three separate occasions.
- They repeatedly packaged our goods incorrectly. Despite numerous complaints and assurances that notes had been updated, the problem persisted. We provided detailed instructions and images on how to apply a sticker properly. As a sustainable start-up, proper packaging is crucial for us. However, they seemed to ignore our custom packaging tape and stickers and instead used virgin plastic packaging, undermining our business principles.
- Orders were not fulfilled on time.
- Synchronisation issues with our Shopify store affected our accounts.
- They failed to follow 'internal protocols', leading to orders vanishing from our Huboo dashboard.
- Our point of contact stopped responding to emails and calls because they had left Huboo without notifying us.
Three months in, I am still grappling with understanding the actual internal processes, as most of the information provided before signing up and during onboarding was inaccurate.
What initially seemed like an exciting opportunity with Huboo has devolved into an excruciatingly time-consuming and energy-draining experience.

I have used Huboo for a few years now and am regularly am in contact with Suzanne from Huboo who has always been absolutely amazing at helping me out and assisting me with stock deliveries and any issue I might have with my hub! My first review was removed, I can only assume they falsely claimed I wasn't a real customer. They only want to protect their reputation not resolve customer issues. They've responded saying they want to fix this, but have ignored all my emails- laughable!
Avoid avoid avoid: A cautionary tale for small businesses
I regret to say that my experience with Huboo fulfilment services has been nothing short of disastrous. I entrusted Huboo with the handling of my business's logistics, hoping it would be a seamless partnership. Unfortunately, this decision has led to significant financial losses and irreparable damage to my business's reputation, which has now closed.
From the outset, issues with Huboo's fulfilment services became apparent. The escalating number of refunds and replacements, meticulously documented and provided to Huboo, illustrates the extent of the financial burden their errors imposed on my business. Each month, we were forced to issue refunds and replacements due to errors on Huboo's part, resulting in a staggering financial impact that exceeded £69k.
Moreover, incorrect shipments compounded our troubles, with orders consistently being mishandled and misdirected. Despite our best efforts to address these issues and communicate with Huboo, the situation only worsened over time. The lack of assistance and communication from Huboo, particularly during a desperate, personal visit made in July, further exacerbated the problem, leading to delays in dispatch and disgruntled customers.
The consequences of Huboo's shortcomings were not limited to financial losses. Our once-thriving customer base was eroded by the fulfilment errors, as evidenced by the numerous emails exchanged with disappointed clients and the subsequent loss of trust in our brand. We were compelled to implement compensation measures, conduct polls, and engage in extensive damage control on social media platforms to salvage what remained of our reputation.
The transition to Huboo, which we had hoped would be a lifeline for our business, instead became its downfall. Conversations with other businesses facing similar challenges with Huboo underscored the systemic nature of the issues we encountered, and we are now collectively looking to take action.
In light of the immense damage caused by Huboo's actions, I have implored them to take responsibility and provide appropriate financial compensation to rectify the situation. They have simply hidden behind terms and conditions which they insist means they relinquish responsibility, despite having the proof in front of them. I will not my business has outstanding invoices with them, which I have clearly communicated we will not be settling until we are acknowledged, understood and compensated fairly.
In conclusion, my experience with Huboo fulfilment services serves as a cautionary tale for small businesses considering their services. They'll butter you up until you sign on the dotted line, and then you'll be left in the dust. Proceed with extreme caution, as the consequences of entrusting your logistics to Huboo will likely be catastrophic.
We are extremely happy with the onboarding process and the Huboo team. Every aspect has been simple and straightforward and communications with the team have been excellent. We feel very confident that our products and shipping is in very safe hands with Huboo and the move from stocking and shipping our products ourselves to out sourcing will enable us to infinitely scale our business.
