I was contacted today by the HSBC fraud…
I was contacted today by the HSBC fraud team whilst at work concerning a £2000 transaction that had gone missing. I called the team back and was put on hold for 50 minutes before I ended the call and called customer services. I was told by 'Syeda' that she would put me through to the fraud team within 10 minutes, but after a further 26 minutes I cancelled this call and called customer services again, but this time I was told by Aaliya' that it would be a minimum of 40 minutes before I would get through to the fraud team. HSBC don't seem to have any consistency, and clearly don't care about the customers money. I have been with HSBC for 28 years, and I can't even call them or use the on-line chat to get through to anyone because the chat line keeps closing without response, and no one will pick up the phone. I had been thinking about leaving HSBC for some years now, but could not be bothered with the fuss, now I have a reason to leave once and for all.

Two account reviews in two weeks not…
Two account reviews in two weeks not on, each time account block on my debit card and only found out at weekend when they are shut. Had too wait until Monday too make contact as relevant department was closed. The relevant department would not talk to me as my account was under investigation for a unknown reason. So i have no money now and have to wait until the investigation is complete which could take months.

HSBC has infamous reputation for its credit card customer service. Their customer service representatives gave customer confusing answers to customers' questions on their credit card products. They always gave customers empty promises. Please refrain from signing up as their customers or you will regret it.
What the nightmare these Bank
What the nightmare these Bank. Never ever receive the correct information. I give up no way no way. Hard to understand how these people are able to work for a Bank.
Unable to reach customer svc agent and dispute team doesn't seem helpful
Its very hard to get thru to customer svc via phone...gave up after waiting for 18mins. Had to dispute a CC transaction but the person processing it is either inexperienced or couldnt care less. Sent me a wrong SMS claiming my cashier's order is not approved but I did not request for cashiers order. Subsequently sent me a letter to prepare more info for CC dispute but the letter reached AFTER their deadline or they will close the case so Im trying to get to their customer svc agent but unable get to them. The info they have requested 75% Ive already told them/provided evidence during my submission. Why are they asking again? Totally ridiculous!
HSBC Singapore
HSBC Singapore. Decided to give the bank a second change on Credit Card Application when telesales approached and invited me to apply for the card. After 3 days of resubmitting, application was inally successfully submitted on 21 Oct 2020.
In the mean time, I have requested to expedite the approval process and have been following up on status on my application since. I called again the customer service hot line this morning 2 Nov 2020, as the telesales line was engaged, and discovered that the the application has been rejected on 28 Oct 2020 and the reason for rejection was "Covid situation" and they cannot disclose any further details.
Firstly, this was rejected on 28 Oct 2020, but, there was no notification email, no status update from anyone and I was told to expect the rejection letter in my mailbox in another x workday time. Thanks for the "efficiency" and please be environment friendly, and don't bother to send me any letter. Secondly, please stop using the lame reason code on "Covid" for everything.
Thanks HSBC Singapore once again in wasting my time in credit card application and for giving such a "lame" excuse in rejection. Kudos to the "excellent" service provided once again!
Awful service at MAIDSTONE town centre branch
I have banked with FIRST DIRECT, part of the HSBC group for 14 years now. I cannot physically pay cash In down the telephone line, so have to go into the local HSBC branch. Pre covid, I could just manage to get there before closing time on a week day. Last year I had an operation on my foot and was in crutches for over a year, one such weeknight I managed to get to the branch on a Friday afternoon, to avoid paying in on a Saturday, when you are just confronted by machines! There was no other customers in the branch, and i explained to the cashier that I wanted to pay some money in, but did not have a paying slip with me. She gave me a paying slip, then told me i could not fill out the slip at the counter, even though there was nobody there, and would have to go to the table opposite and do it, even though she could see I was on crutches and have difficulty walking! The jobs worth then made me wait until she called me over, even though there was nobody else to serve!
I stumbled across the road to Metrobank and opened up an account there and then!
Fast forward a year... As the shops are open again, post lock down, why are HSBC still only open 10am to 2pm weekdays? I am a frontline worker, have worked all the way through the pandemic and cannot get to HSBC during a weekday, due to their hours of opening.
METROBANK across the road manage to be open again, from to 5pm,7 days a week and that is reduced covid hours!
I am a front line worker and have been working all through the epidemic, and simply cannot get to HSBC during these times on a weekday. 2 days ago, I had a day off to attend a diabetic eye screening, and after, I had a chance to visit HSBC Maidstone, where I waited in the glare of the sun, outside with my eyes very blurry in the queue outside for ages, even telling the Unsympathetic staff about my eye condition, and after finally being allowed in and out of the glare of the sun, I was told by the counter staff that they could not help me to a transfer, as i had a FIRST direct card, and not an HSBC account despite the fact i could not see to transfer it online ( which I don't do anyway) or over the phone as I would not be able to read out my card number!
I walked straight into metrobank across the road, who were genuinely concerned about my temporary sight problems and did the transfer for me in under 2 minutes! Needless to say, the remaining money I have with THE HSBC group will now be transferred over to my metrobank account, where the staff actually take an interest and help their customers!

HSBC Westbury-on-trym branch
HSBC Westbury-on-trym branch. Oh dear we've been here before. Previously they refused to change currency as I'm a first direct customer. Today as their ATM was down. They grudgingly let me withdraw £10 with the proviso that next time I'd have to get authorisation from my bank. Again they denied that first direct are part of the HSBC group. ( despite it being printed on my bank card) rude unhelpful And deliberately obstructive. Business as usual.
Update 10/5/22 dealt with a very pleasant and personable young man. I’d arranged in advance to make a cash withdrawal and he had all the details to hand. Thanks where it’s due to the man thank you.
HSBC moves so slow
HSBC moves so slow. HSBC keep claiming that, because of COVDI19, all responses takes four days or so. I have contacted my relationship manger and his response is at most one a week. This new culture at HSBC slows down all process and HSBC is unable to complete my request even after a few weeks. Relationship mangers at HSBC just take advantage of the situation and use it as an excuse to reduce their workload. I totally regret that I chose HSBC. Don't choose HSBC.
HSBC's Premier is second-class
If you are thinking of a premier account, choose CITI or other SG banks. Never choose HSBC.
Relationship managers for Premier account did not want to help you and they just want to save their time. I requested to open an account but Relationship managers postponed the process. They suddenly said that your manger changed. I cannot move money for more than one month due to mess of inside of HSBC. This is simply because there is no incentive for them to work hard for costumers and they just tried to sell complicated products, which secretly has huge risk (Don't buy what they recommend).
Terrible service.
Terrible service.. I called HSBC(SG) as I paid to Scam company, my enquiry is I wanted to cancel my current transaction and prevent from any future transaction.. Bank officer was checking my full name, DOB and last 4 digit of my two credit cards.. I answered all correctly and then she asked my mum middle name.. I am Myanmar Nationality we don't have any first name, middle name and last name. So sometime I just put one name sometimes I just put full name. So when I answer one name she said can't proceed with my call so I told her my mum full name as I was not sure whether I put full name or middle name. I even requested to ask me another question but she keep saying sorry I can't procced with your call..
I was unhappy that she keep saying she can't proceed with my call and didn't answer what is the solution for my issue.. I told her I don't want to get charged as this is totally scam and also want to prevent for future transaction.. I know HSBC has right to ask security question but it should be depends on situation..While I am already stress with that fraud payment and HSBC can't even answer whether I can cancel my current transaction and how to prevent future transaction because I can only correctly answer 4 out of 5 questions that they asked.. In order to know that information I need to personally go down to branch and verify at the counter service?
We wanted to open a business account…
We wanted to open a business account with HSBC. After filling out the application form on line and after having answered lots more questions when telephoned by the bank, we were told to go to their branch in Exeter so that they could verify our identities. Apparently it cannot be done at a local branch. It is a 120 mile round trip from where we live. We arrived 15mins late due to traffic and were told that we would not be seen as it would take 2hours and there was another appointment after ours. We explained how far we had come and that our appointment was only to show our proof of identity. We did not want to borrow any money or have an overdraft or credit card, we simply wanted to put our start up money in an account in order to start trading. None of this made any difference. The person we were supposed to be seeing did not even have the curtesy to speak to us himself and all this was relayed by telephone to a junior employee in the foyer. We were told to make another appointment. Of course we did not. We went to another bank. I would recommend everyone to stay well away from HSBC. Their attitude is absolutely outrageous. I will never have any kind of dealings with HSBC again.
NO Star shall be given to HSBC

Never buy any saving insurance from HSBC. the interest of the investment plan average below 0.03% 30K you got $1000+ after 10 yrs. Why not put in the bank. Bank of China offers a higher interest rate

I used to bank with HSBC all the way back to when they were called Midlands Bank. But since 2016 I have been very unhappy with the attitude I got from the backroom staff at HSBC Maidstone so I have closed my account. I just wish I knew why they became so anti Me and would not supply answers to my questions etc
The worst local world bank on the…
The worst local world bank on the planet run by goons who have no respect for decency when items go wrong and fail to up hold and administer court items in a timely manner, producing relevant documents which show they were wrong after a case, deliberate non\compliant as they know they were wrong then fail to respond to E-Mails and registered letters. sack the whole company
Save yourself the trouble and never open accounts with HSBC
Save yourself the trouble and never open accounts with HSBC! They just closed my accounts and did not even send a letter or call as should be required. No reasons, no explanation, just get lost, your accounts are closed. HSBC had issues with the US authorities and for some now reason seem to be randomly blocking/closing accounts with no explanation. To avoid having your accounts randomly closed for no good reason, I suggest you never open accounts at HSBC!
