The worst bank in the world

The worst bank in the world, absolutely everything about them is bad.
We have banked with HSBC UK for 30 years so when setting up a business branch in India we opted for HSBC India.... the worst decision I have ever made in my life!!!
Staff are clueless, poorly trained, don't know what they are doing, unable to answer any questions, never stay in their jobs for long, so you are always dealing with someone different. There is no customer service, staff are rude and just quote official documents without actually helping (mainly because they don't know what they are doing).
Even if you escalate to VP level, they are just as bad, all they are interested in is enjoying their elevated job titles and have no interest in actually getting involved, they just send emails instructing the clueless staff to deal with it. Then if pushed they just close your account.
A staggeringly bad banking experience!!
If you are a British company thinking about investing in India as part of the upcoming free trade deal, DO NOT BANK WITH HSBC India!!!!!!

I will never tell anyone to use HSBC.

I will never tell anyone to use HSBC bank. They are a bank. They do not know what they are doing.
I am 52 years old I work for myself. I have two kids in university. I have been with HSBC for over three years now. In that time I have had four people looking after my account at HSBC. Yes, four people. Each one of them got fired because they were not doing their job. Each time I had to start over and explain my money situation, my mortgage and my business. I wasted a lot of time doing this.
Because of all the changes and confusion at HSBC they made a mistake with a business payment. I lost eight thousand five hundred pounds because of this mistake. This was the money I needed to pay for my kids university fees. They also froze my account twice for no reason so I could not pay the people I owed money to. I almost lost a contract because of HSBC.
I have felt a lot of stress and upset because of HSBC. I had nights when I could not sleep, panic attacks and arguments at home. I felt like I was begging HSBC to do their job.
I am very grateful that I got in touch with pomaadvisory. They are helping me get back the eight thousand five hundred pounds from HSBC. They are also trying to get me some money for all the stress I have been through because of HSBC. If it was not for pomaadvisory HSBC would just have kept passing me from one manager to another. It is shocking that someone like me a 52-year- small business owner needs help from outside just to get basic banking services from HSBC.
I think everyone should avoid using HSBC. I am moving all my accounts to another bank. If I could give HSBC a minus five-star rating I would. I will always say that HSBC is not a bank and people should stay away, from HSBC.

HSBC Bandra branch and HSBC in general…

HSBC Bandra branch and HSBC in general are one of the WORST banks to deal with. Being an International bank, your HSBC Customer Service is absolutely appalling. Their grievance process ensures that you do not get to the next level as you do not get a 'complaint number' for the first level, which is 'necessary' to take the formal complaint to the next level.
Their staff are one of the first people to 'keep hounding' when they want you to invest 'money' in their bank. The same enthusiasm is TOTALLY LACKING when it is related to addressing a complaint!!!!!!

HSBC shows it's incompetence... Very poor service

I am an expat employed in India with a PAN card and taxed salary earner. At the end of every month my salary gets paid into my HSBC account, and then I iniate at TT transfer of funds to my home country's bank account.. A large commercial bank.
On the 02 Sept 2025, HSBC was instructed to transfer INR 11 Lakh to my home bank, but after 5 days the money had not appeared in my home bank. I queried the whereabouts of the funds and after a lot of searching, it was discovered that HSBC had routed the funds to the wrong bank!
The funds were recalled and on the 12 September the funds were once again sent by HSBC and after 5 days the funds still had not appeared in my home bank. Once again a trace found that HSBC had once again sent the money to another wrong bank for the second time in a row. So as of today the money needs to be recalled and sent again, but what chance do I have to actually getting the money the third time?
There seems to be nobody that can be held or is held to account for this shameful display of incompetence by what is supposed to be a leading international bank.
I recommend that anyone needing a competent financial institution, remain clear of HSBC.
Incompetence there is the standard.

HSBC Bandra - Worst customer Service

Probably one of the worst if not THE worst customer service.
They have a so called "Relationship Manager" to help and assist one in banking matters. While the name sound great, this gentleman is almost impossible to get in touch with. He just does not respond to email, text or does not answer his phone.
When a complaint is lodged online, HSBC is very very quick to close the matter BEFORE EVEN FIXING THE ISSUE. This level of service may be tolerable to someone who has never left India. But for someone like myself having left India more than 30 years ago, this is unbelievable. I don't know how these folks can still hang on to their jobs. They would have been fired long ago for this deplorable performance. My biggest regret is having opened an account with them. Never never again. Please stay away from this bank. The words "customer service" do not exist in their dictionary.

My bank account has been frozen for…

My bank account has been frozen for five months because I need to complete my KYC. Despite sending the documents several times, they keen asking for my signature on some documents that they have sent but can't be opened. Either I get no response, or the standard response that I need to sign up for a premier account to get any customer service. Appalling customer service. Do not bank with them.

Absolutely appalling service!

Have had two accounts with them for a short time now. Deposited a cheque into one of them on the 5th of August. Was advised that it would be realised within a day. Get a statement for that exact account the day after (6th). Six hours later when I check on line whether the cheque has been realised I cannot find the account at all! On calling customer services, I am advised that the account has been closed! Was promised a response. Contacted the personal relationship manager of our branch in Chennai - Mr C J - who promised to get back within two hours and it is now two days! Absolutely appalling service by Mr CJ and this is NOT the first time I might add! The eager and enthusiasm that was present when we explored opening the NRE and NRO accounts with them some months back is no longer seen! Very very disappointed HSBC India/Chennai!!
