Worst Customer Service Experience EVER!
Customer service rep barely spoke English and couldn't understand a basic question. He became agitated and belligerent very quickly.
I wish I could give 0 stars.
They think they're the government or something
They try really hard to pretend they're some kind of insurance company or a government fund, approving access to your own savings. Their customer service is basically phone only -- they won't just correspond in writing about anything substantial. Yet they require you submit PDFs for basic functions like withdrawing or transferring your funds. Simply transferring to another HSA turned into a weeks long process, and I ultimately had to just close the account and handle the rollover myself. I cannot believe such a customer-hostile entity is still in business.
300 step process to update your mailing…
300 step process to update your mailing address. Can't understand the person I was speaking with. Had to repeat over and over again.
I recently tried to access the funds in my FSA and they declined for no reason
I recently tried to access the funds in my FSA that is administered by HSA Bank along with my HSA and they declined the transaction for a legitimate dental expense. I had to call and hold for over an hour to speak with a supervisor and then they tried to avoid transferring me. My bank account is linked and they denied me access to my funds and them later apologized for the oversight and told me to manually resubmit the request. I had to pay the entire bill from my bank account. They constantly demand receipts and then flag the account and put it on hold. I always submit the receipts immediately but 15-20 days later they say the case is still waiting to be worked. They do everything they can to deny or stall your claim and their customer service is horrible and they have to put you on hold to get answers from management constantly. I am going to report them to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and I would encourage others to do the same. Highly unethical company.
Incredibly shitty company
I finally was in a position to move my HSA account out of HSA bank. Their own form says they can transfer assets in kind. My new bank (Fidelity) send a transfer request. Days and weeks pass, and nothing happens. A MONTH later I get a letter in the mail saying the transfer was rejected since I need to liquidate the funds.
1. Why a MONTH?!
2. Why not use the messaging app or email? They have been sending me useless updates for years. But not this important update?
3. Why can’t they transfer in kind, when their own instructions say they can?
Basically, they’ll do anything to hold to your money.
This company is the worst
This company is the worst. My medical claim payments keep getting denied even though I am submitting the correct documentation and the customer service representatives are RUDE. I will never use my companies spending account benefit again if this is the company we have to use. AWFUL.
After the management changed HSA has…
After the management changed HSA has provide very poor services. When one sell a stocks, the money is not always available the next business day. Sometimes, it took 3 business days for the fuinds show up. Avoid this company if you can
Terrible Customer Service
I found an older card and called to get the balance. I gave my social, name, street address and the rep. kept saying the address wasn't correct. She put me on hold for quite a while to check with her supervisor. She came back saying even after I gave ALL that info, she couldn't give me my balance because I didn't have the "complete" address so I'm thinking someone got access and hacked me.
It was alarming and even after I explained I now have some concerns about security, she just kept saying she couldn't help me. I then realized that on some of my mail (10%), there's a "NE" at the end of my street address. I never use this, this postal service doesn't require it because most of my mail doesn't have this on it and it gets delivered.
I then gave her the "NE" and she then proceeded to tell me my balance was zero. Are you kidding me, waiting on the phone for 20 minutes when she could have just told me that upfront. What a waste of time. I will never use this company again and will make sure my employer knows there is ZERO customer service here.
Complete and Utter Scam. Say goodbye to your money.
This place is a scam, through-and-through.
This is the single worst business I've ever interfaced with. They make deals with employers to take over old HSA accounts when you change employment, and then they intentionally obstruct you at every turn to prevent you taking the money out of their fee-heavy accounts. This is so they can steal your money.
Want to withdraw or move your own money? Forget about it. It's theirs now.
You have to print and fill out archaic forms with your personal info, including the account number. Except you can't get the account number. It's not on your profile, not on the homepage, not on the "account info" section, even. No, they intentionally hide it in the SETTINGS MENU (!!!) multiple options deep. Is your account number a setting? Obviously it is not. They want you to give up. They are scammers.
Must be paper-filed, hand-signed, and mailed, both from the new account at another company, and also from these scammers. They don't tell you this anywhere of course, you have to call and sit on the phone for hours. They want you to give up. They are scammers.
8 weeks processing. And then they will send the check to a random address where you haven't lived for 7 years, despite confirming beforehand, repeatedly, the correct address on the paper documents, phone, online, and on the physical letter you sent - wait 8 weeks and start all over again. They want you to give up. They are scammers.
This entire time they are drawing fees on your account, by the way. They stole thousands from me.
HSA Bank is intentionally obstructionist, there is no possible doubt in my mind. This is the biggest scam company I've ever seen.
Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible customer service. I switched jobs, and needed to update my email address, but couldn't do it because I couldn't get into the account to see the information needed to verify my identity. Now I am completely locked out of my account and no amount of personal information will satisfy their "security protocols." Several hours on the phone with CS and I am still locked out.
HSA Bank relies heavily on poor AI…
HSA Bank relies heavily on poor AI technology. When you call the support number they have you talking to an AI agent who's recorded voice sounds like a poor connection over cellular. You explain the issue and all it says is let me check my system. Please wait. Then when it transfers you it takes at least 10 mins before you get a live agent and have to answer all of the security questions and restate the issue again. HSA Bank is the most difficult company to work with to get reimbursed for medical expenses with your own money.
Ridiculous hold times
Ridiculous hold times
Called to cancel one of my claims. It took over 40 minutes just to request!! . Now I have to call them back to confirm with a different team and has already been on hold for 12 minutes. Be prepared with some reading or work before you call them. The worst system ever.
HSA Bank awful
The website, app, and support all stink. I have been trying to liquidate my remaining invested funds into cash so I can transfer it to a better HSA account elsewhere. But there website/app fail at this task. I have spoken with numerous agents and supervisors. All they do is apologize and say it can take three days to fix. Weeks have gone by. They say that there is no way for me to speak with the "investment team" (looks like a company called DriveWealth; no phone number). I have filed complaints with the Office of the Controller of the Currency and with FINRA for this "denial of access" to my funds.
0 stars - will never use HSA back again if I can avoid it
0 stars
Customer service is terrible
Verification must be done over and over
If the phone hangs up 'or disconnects' they never call you back
It is impossible to speak to a supervisor, and when a supervisor call back is requested, it never happens
Answers from representatives are not consistent
The HSA side and the COBRA side are 2 separate entities and they do not communicate with each other
While they will take your money immediately for transfer, for certain activities they only accept US mail and only checks sent by US mail - especially when it benefits them and not the customer
Extremely unhelpful
Charge fees for everything including keeping an HSA account; they charged me 10% of the money I had in the account to keep the account open every month, and it was a very difficult process to move my money out of their institution - I am still waiting for it to happen
Papers sent to them do not seem to arrive
They use to be the best for HSA’s but…
They use to be the best for HSA’s but they got greedy and removed Schwab to collect more fees. The change was not thought out well or planned. I’ve closed my account and moved to a better option.
Customer Service are Liars
Requested an amount of $297 in check be mailed to me. No check. No check. They assured me multiple times this was on USPS. After a few weeks of waiting, I had HSA void the check because I didn't want to risk "USPS" giving my money to somebody else. HSA told me twice, two different times, it was voided. Well over a month later the money is STILL not back in my account. So they lied saying USPS lost it because they definitely sent it as I received it AFTER requesting it to be voided date showed written AFTER they said USPS lost it. Now after voiding, about a month and a half later, the money has NOT been returned to my account. This is MY money for MEDICAL expenses.
worst bank I've ever dealt with
worst bank I've ever dealt with, surprised they are still in business. Customer service straight up hung up on me and I hope no companies keep business with them for the sake of the employees' mental health.
The worst bank ever…
The worst bank ever…. Terrible service and I coil wrote a novel i the repeated cluster messes I have encountered with them. Yes, tax conservations, and system limitations are a complex component of HSA administration, but these folks are SLOW and I am convinced they generate revenue from “float” time on consumer transactions and high account fees. Go somewhere elae if ou are considering an HSA
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service! Unable to get responses or talk to upper management concerning contribution errors.
We will be leaving this company very soon.
Genuinely HATE this bank
Genuinely HATE this bank. Wish I could give it 0 stars for the wort platform to exist. Both cash and investment options suck. My prior employer clearly hated the staff so much that they transitioned us from Schwab to HSA Bank. Rollover is a nightmare. They say no fees but do in fact have fees. They are unwilling to assist and initiate transfers or work with other custodians.
