No refunds, not even for a disabled person who made an error

I am disabled. I ordered two tickets to Hampton Court by mistake thinking I was ordering tickets for Hampton Court Castle in Herefordshire. I contacted Historic Royal Palaces within an hour of my order requesting cancellation an refund, which was outright refused quoting their own 'no refunds' policy. In this specific circumstance I find that to be inconsiderate, inflexible and oblivious to the challenges disabled people have and by consequence their increased chance of making errors. I now hold Hisitoric Royal Palaces in nothing but contempt.

Daylight robbery with membership renewal. Initially in the counter they said it wont be automatically renewed but here they did and now they saying something like we need to cancel. But just like theives they didnt send any email or letter saying the membership renewal payment will be taken. Bullshit and we are so angry to waste our hardwork money

Scammers

They continue to bill your card even after cancelling membership. They don’t send any emails regarding this and hope you don’t notice. Despicable practice

Poppy Fields at Tower of London - underwhelming

Went to the Tower of London this evening for the Poppy Fields event. Queuing system was chaotic, staff were disorganised and rude. Once inside was extremely underwhelming, had such high hopes for remembering the fallen at the Tower but a few projectors of unclear graphics on building sides was a very disappointing. Couldn’t call it a tour as you walk across two areas then it’s the exit.

Attended with a disabled family member and there was no help when asked for it, the queue was running late and we were held in an enormous crowd for far too long before entry. So chaotic.

Wouldn’t recommend, other much more meaningful ways to honour this important time. This felt like a cheaply done money spinner.

I bought Tower of London tickets on…

I bought Tower of London tickets on line but the web site froze just as I entered my credit card details, so I assumed the transaction failed and proceeded to queue up for tickets at the ticket office. I then received an email with my on line tickets attached , which means I paid twice to get it. I applied for a refund a month ago and sent 2 reminders but have received zero response to my emails.

£110 was taken from my account without…

£110 was taken from my account without permission for renewed membership. They said they had sent a letter telling me of this but it certainly wasn’t received.
Such a shame because this has ruined my relationship with them and I certainly won’t take out any further memberships with them. There really should be a law in which companies need written permission to automatically renew memberships. I’ve spoken to customer services and as yet I’m still waiting for a manager to get back to me.

booking in error

I have given them 1* because they is nothing lower.
I bought tickets for hampton court when it should have been Hampton court flower show. A very simple error and costly as they will not refund even if it was my mistake. I informed them of this error withing 10 minutes but they dont want to know they simply refer you to the T&C's. Is there no sympathy with them?
never will i go again to any historic palaces and i have been on plenty before. i have been twice to Hampton court so this is a useless ticket and an expensive error. beware everyone they have no sympathy when it come to an error.

I bought a membership recently and…

I bought a membership recently and received fabulous service from the membership team. I got my money back pretty quickly by visiting Hampton Court and the Tower of London and also enjoyed an amazing Members' only day at Banqueting House. Such good value for money!

The Tower of London is great BUT.

I love everything about the Tower of London, but holding a membership card does not give you 10% off purchases. We wanted to buy refreshments from a corner kiosk within the grounds. The prices board indicated that 10% membership discount was available. Sadly the person working today 3rd Jan 2024 had not been given the training to deduct our discount. But in the gift shops the staff were fully trained and we received our discount from souvenirs. Therefore sadly a gap in this great attraction.

Payment debited twice, no answer or refund

I tried to buy an online ticket on the website in late May. The payment didn't go through (it was validated on my bank app, but somehow the website told me it didn't work). I tried it again, it worked, I've received my ticket.
Only to find out a couple of days later that I had been debited twice!
I contacted them through their contact email address, but I have never received an answer, despite sending again another email a couple of weeks afterwards.
I've asked the staff at the palace and obviously said they couldn't do anything...
Obviously I never got a refund.

Tower of London -Thanks Yeoman Warder Nev

We visited the Tower of London on Sunday 6th August, 2 x adults and 1 x 8 year old we had a great time and to be honest wished we had got their earlier as there is so much to see. However what made the day really special was the guided tour by a Beefeater (Yeoman Warder) Nev. He brought the history to life and made it amusing too with his little anecdotes, he also made time for us to get a photo with him afterwards which is a super momento of a great day out.
The only let down is the fact that I emailed HRP a week before we travelled to the Tower of London with a couple of questions and did not get a reply until today - 2 days after we got back!

Auto Renewal rip off

Hello,
I have same issue as everyone, I got auto renewal charge £120.
I moved address and just realised when I checked my bank statement.
Called and they told me they don’t issue refunds.
How this is possible for such a big company?

My review is about how HRP treated their members during Covid

My review is actually about how HRP treated their members during Covid. We couldn’t visit but HRP did not extend our membership to let us visit when they opened again. When I contacted them, they said my membership was a donation but they would give me 15 months membership for 12 month fee if I signed up for a new membership by DD when in fact that offer is open to all so wasn’t a compensation at all.

Worst still was that we bought our son and his family a gift membership for Christmas 2019 and they never got to use it - if they sell something as a gift - how can they then class it as a donation? Well that is what they did - it was a complete waste of money and I would encourage anyone not to do it.

My other memberships were extended without me ever having to ask. Not a good look HRP!

Necklace

Bought a necklace online, payment went through no issues and received the necklace. Then received a letter from a debt collection agency saying I hadn't paid! Threatened me with court if I didn't pay the £55!! If there was an issue with the payment which there wasn't then why send out the order?? Shocking service and will never use them again!! Avoid at all costs

The Glass Rooms Dining

We had a wonderful time we had when visiting the glass rooms on Saturday 13th August. We stumbled upon the glass room after exiting the superbloom and asked if it would be ok to come in for a drink and admire the amazing view. Jonny greeted us gave us a table with a great view, he chatted with us and made us feel so welcome. It was a wonderful end to my birthday, amazing views, amazing cocktails and amazing customer experience!

No Super Bloom only Sadly Brown

There are sadly no Blooms, and nothing was Super. Its clear that nothing has been done to keep the blooms alive during a dry summer.

A total disappointment topped off by the tickets being non refundable. Unless it rains, or they water it, its not worth your cost in either time or money.

Dont buy a ticket to this event, unless it rains a lot and you check that the colours are back. At the moment, its only Super Brown. Hugely Disappointed.

SUPERBLOOM the least super or bloom…

SUPERBLOOM the least super or bloom thing I have ever seen. We expected less flowers due to the dry spell but not the dry wasteland we were met with. My wildflower selection at home was a thousand times better. When we tried to get a refund we were advised to go to our ticket provider (See Tickets) & they would see the tickets hadn't been used & would refund is.....they said sorry "no refunds" so buy the tickets to see the flowers don't use them as the flowers were dead & no you can't get a refund. Very poor after sales service. Shame on you!
