Extremely informative. This was a valuable session that I will benefit greatly from and can apply knowledge and skills acquired to work practice.
Having David Dunkley as a guest speaker was great. The lecture was very informative and very engaging with activities and stories, scenarios that had us thinking. I enjoyed the lecture, I think it was short, there was more to learn about the substance use or maybe the lesson was just too fun and good needed more! :)

As a Masters Degree student studying social work this session provided great insight into Drug and Alcohol awareness as During social work practice we will come across various of service users wanting the best help possible. David did an excellent Job providing myself and my class mates the profound knowledge into drugs and the implications surrounding them which can now allow myself to enter the world of Substance misuse and use my knowledge and skills required to deliver the best care and support for all the different types of service users.
David delivered his annual alcohol/drug awareness workshop to our Year 6 pupils. David is extremely knowledgeable and is able to deliver material and information that both engages and promotes discussion and questions.
The workshop carried out in Y6 was great! Very engaging and informative - the children learnt a lot from it!
A very engaging, informative and important workshop. David was absolutely amazing. The level at which the workshop was pitched, was perfect. We will definitely be asking him to come back to our school next year as well as run a workshop for our parents.

David came to deliver training to Masters level student Social Workers. As someone who has experienced Addiction & regularly works with others who have, I was not expecting to learn much, but I was really blown away by this training. I learned some really interesting facts that could really help others and David delivered it with passion and great people skills. He had us all engaged and interacting with one another. He also updated information on a slide that has changed, showing that he reflects on facts etc often to keep his training as informative as possible. I can imagine this training & David's skill really helps young people. It is helpful, non-judgemental & clearly intends to help us all understand how to effectively support people struggling with substance use, but most importantly, how to deliver information that will help those hardest to reach still engaging with it. Thanks David & keep up the great work. You're an asset to the community. So many schools, charities & mental health services would benefit from this training. 🙏✨️
We recently had the pleasure of hosting David for his annual Drugs and Alcohol Workshop for our Year 6 students, a session he has been delivering at our school over the past four years. Once again, his workshop proved to be an outstanding educational experience, incorporating important information with engaging, interactive elements that made the topic accessible and thought-provoking for our pupils.
David's delivery is consistently excellent. He is very knowledgeable and adapts his lesson based on the children, ensuring it is age-appropriate and that sensitive topics are handled with care and understanding.
We look forward to welcoming him back next year!

Drugs & Alcohol Workshop was amazing. David managed to engage some of our very hard to reach students, who struggle daily with any form of education, and have not been working with other students for a while. The students carried on talking about what they had learnt after the workshop and engaged well with each other and have asked for more workshops. I would highly recommend David who has a friendly approach to our students , making it easier for them to be able to talk around the topics, including how trauma can lead to drug use. Thank you David, you were amazing!
The Drug and Alcohol workshop was excellent! It was very accessible to the students in year 9. Students were very engaged in the workshop as it was interactive, informative and easy to follow.
David provided a welcoming environment for everyone to participate and appreciated every student in the room. He is a very experienced professional who was passionate about helping the community. Many students stayed after the lesson to talk to him and engage with the prompts he had brought. He has got a very friendly and calm manner which is a very valuable trait any educator must have to work with children.
I highly recommend the workshop to schools.

A superb PSHE workshop! David has been coming to Newstead for several years now, and he always tailors his talks to current issues, as well as addressing the key areas of the topic. He establishes excellent rapport with the students, and I'll finish with our Head Student (Y13) feedback: 'I think it was incredibly informative, and I’ve heard a lot of people’s opinions change after the talk. It was great to be able to address the topic and to educate people about its dangers, and it has shown a positive impact on the year group so far. '

Excellent workshops - highly recommended
We had workshops delivered across our school, from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5. Each workshop was adapted for the relevant year group so the students were engaged and interested. We are a special school for students with SEMH needs so to hear how much the students enjoyed the workshops, and the further questions it raised, was great. Thank you.

David led a workshop for our year 6 classes which was delivered with passion, expertise and professionalism. David had a great manner about him, which sustained the children’s attention and made them feel comfortable enough to ask and answer questions about such a sensitive topic.

David has given the drugs and alcohol workshop several year sin a row in year 6, and each year he is professional, engaging and informative. He updates the slides with new trends e.g. khat and vapes and always answers the children's questions honestly yet sensitively.
