Fraudulent Scam/Phishing Website
If something seems too good to be true––it usually is.
In a mad rush I learned this the hard way, and would leave a 0 rating if possible––as the website in question is a (possibly AI designed) scam created to steal money from unwitting "customers" unable to find certain items elsewhere.
The pricing should have provided red enough of a flag, though I have seen similar items on Chinese websites (which actually deliver within the same projected delivery period of this particular site) and assumed that it was just a Chinese drop shipping operation.
However, the next red flags came in form of "mail undeliverable" bounces of email enquiries––followed by a bit of research which led me to discover that the physical address (found via contact link on the website) belonged to another business entirely.
I contacted that business located at the physical address, was advised by the rep that "Hounslow Soup Kitchen" was not a legitimate business associated with that address, and was advised to seek immediate reversal of payment.
So there you have it, folks!
There seem to be a number of these scam websites going these days, as a friend recently reported that her own business was targeted by thieves who posted some of her items on a fraudulent URL and she had to fight for ages to have it taken down before they destroyed her reputation entirely.
The bottom line seems to be that the modern Internet is full of nasty predators of all sorts, likely best avoided at all cost, and brick and mortar shops should return as our main source for everyday needs.
Even TrustPilot itself is a rubbish site, as most reviews such as these never seem to make it online (or are "removed") for reasons uncertain by the ridiculous AI bots running it.
So tread carefully, all––although I'll be completely gobsmacked if this review ever sees the light of day.
