My integrated Beko fridge freezer lost the ability to refrigerate, so we called the Beko Helpline given the appliance was only 6 years old. Beko is now under umbrella brand of Hotpoint, along with Indesit. They told us the fee was £162 and if they couldn’t repair it, they would refund it all apart from a £75 call out fee and would subsequently give us access to their own prices which will be 20% cheaper than the retail prices you may find at AO and Currys. It sounded a pretty good deal so we followed through and unfortunately, the engineer couldn’t repair the fridge freezer. Disappointingly, we are still waiting 3 weeks later for the report that was promised. The subsequent offered internal prices are nearer 5% lower than retail prices, rather then the promised 20%. However, at no point did Hotpoint explain us to us that nearly all their services are outsourced. Both the engineers attendance was delayed to a couple of weeks rather than a few days, and then the delivery of the new fridge freezer was postponed a couple of times with two different delivery firms engaged.
Unfortunately, upon delivery, they weren’t unable to install the integrated fridge freezer because the supporting bottom shelf of the kitchen unit had deteriorated from a previous leak. The engineer told us that the £89.99 installation fee would be refunded automatically. We got a local tradesmen to fit a new shelf and install the new FF for roughly the same price and then waited and waited for the refund. Then the fun and games started. We had to call them, on hold and then passed to 4 different departments and we were told the engineer gave us erroneous information. You have to call and request a refund, which seemed dishonest to me. Why wouldn’t it be automatic if the promised paid for service wasn’t supplied? On the whole, a very disappointed experience I don’t like to use word charlatans, but the fact that a refund wouldn’t be automatic does suggest that, and a 20% discount which in reality turns out to be a 5% discount really wasn’t worth the extra hassle of 7/8 phone calls and numerous delays of such an essential kitchen appliance.

I have an email saying "thanks for registering your 10 years parts warranty". I haven't done this. Did Hotpoint do this? Would be great if Hotpoint had told me. Have I been gifted this warranty, or not?.

Simple registration process but absolutely hate they hound you daily about upgrading your warranty to sign up to an insurance policy to extend the warranty , you get emails, post and messaging, all totally unnecessary

Easy to register the appliance but it took a while for the confirmation email to come through, resulting in registering the appliance a second time as I thought my initial registration wasn't successful.

Covered all the items we have bought recently - not just Hotpoint but Whirlpool and Lamona as well which made life a lot easier.

Phone answered promptly. Polite and informative but wasn’t expecting a five minute long sales pitch to register my appliance.

The process seemed straight forward and easy, except it seemed to be focused on purchases of one appliance, whereas I purchased and wanted to register two (fridge and freezer). It got confusing when it came to know if both have been accepted. Plus, I have seemed to have only received a confirming email for 1 years standard warranty and not the ten for BOTH appliances

The engineer arrived on time. He was very efficient and talked me through what he had done. His initial thought was that the problem was the element on the oven and he proceeded to replace the master board. Initial tests seemed to show that the problem was solved. However I came to use the oven today and the original problem has returned.
