Backpackers best friend
The Best!!!!! We do a lot of backpacking all over Africa, Europe and South America and these guys are always our "go to" for finding accommodation.
The site is easy to use, it always has pics of the accommodation and a description (which we find to be the most important part, We always say you have a look at the pics of the accommodation before you book). You have an option of adding in a payment protection fee if you want to cancel. I would recommend this site to anyone.

only website with free facilities in searched region. booking.com was sold out!
Very helpful when searching for familyroom in crowded area (Plitvice, Croatia in August). Funny experience though: Could only book for 6 persons in a 6 person appartment although I only needed 4. Received mail in Croatian next morning from owner, which I could not read. Took chances though and went there. Turned out he did not have a 6p apartment but guaranteed us an alternative. Now we have a standalone apartment at his neighbours. Very friendly people who only speak Croatian. Nevertheless perfect place. Best shower so far. Barbecue in garden. Washing machine, sattellite tv. Groceries around the corner. Nice...

Easy to use, video clips were important in my choice of a hostel. I'd prefer to have the calender scheme in both arrival and departure fields.
