We stayed with HostaHome for around…

We stayed with HostaHome for around four months while our own house was being renovated and had a really positive experience. During that time we stayed in two of their properties in Manchester and both were lovely

They were extremely accommodating throughout our stay and always helpful whenever we needed anything.

Having somewhere that genuinely felt like home made a stressful few months of renovations so much easier. Would definitely recommend HostaHome them

Dishonest promises & severe safety hazards

Dishonest promises, severe safety hazards, ruined family holiday, and absurd management.

I had an appalling experience with Host A Home. From start to finish, this stay was built on dishonest promises, misrepresentation, and absolute management chaos.

1. Broken Promises & Severe Holiday Disruption:
Before booking, I explicitly requested a Portable A/C, and Host A Home agreed in writing. A month prior to check-in, I followed up to double-confirm, but they evaded my messages. Upon arrival, the A/C was missing, and support absurdly claimed electric fans were equivalent to "Portable A/C"! Because the flat was unlivable, we refused to stay, forcing them to finally buy a Portable A/C—but our family holiday was already severely delayed and disrupted. Although they eventually compensated us for 3 days of hotel stay (proving their fault), our pre-planned itinerary was completely ruined.

2. Severe Safety Hazard Upon Return:
The nightmare didn't end there. Shortly after returning to the flat, a severe leak from the apartment above caused part of the hallway ceiling to collapse, along with a light fixture—directly in front of my two young children.

3. "Not Just a Safe Shelter, But a Comfortable Stay":
When we requested a fair refund for the remaining nights, Host A Home flatly refused, hiding behind technical jargon that the flat was "structurally safe." We paid full price for a comfortable, enjoyable holiday home, not the absolute bare minimum of a basic shelter that merely avoids collapsing. Expecting a family with two young children to stay inside an active drying/repair site—with an open hole in the ceiling, visible dampness, and a collapsed light fixture—completely destroys the vacation experience.

4. Total Lack of Responsibility & Ghosting:
To make matters worse, whenever we raised legitimate safety and comfort concerns for our children, their management simply ghosted us and stopped responding to our messages.

This stay was a complete nightmare. Host A Home's management is dishonest, chaotic, and totally lacking in basic empathy for paying guests.

Do not trust Host A Home. Highly unprofessional, dishonest, and unsafe. I strongly advise everyone—especially families—to avoid booking with them.
