Delta was more helpful than Hopper was. Do not buy their travel insurance! I bought insurance to protect against rescheduled flights- they said I was not eligible to use the insurance because the first rescheduling happened in April which was more than 24 hours before my scheduled flight, even though technically my flight was rescheduled AGAIN the day of my flight!! I won’t be buying that insurance again!!

Bought a ticket through Hopper in a pinch when my Delta ticket back the the US was cancelled. The price on my screen when I hit the "purchase" button did not match the purchase price in my flight confirmation email. Hopper charged me an additional $600! Their resolution department was not helpful. I will never use them again. Risky company, do not use!

Impossible to reach any assistance or modify your flight tickets - neither through Hopper, nor through the airlines coz they are right to say that the booking was made through a 3rd party website. No Whatsapp number in this era, ridiculous! One feels helpless. What can one do with toll free US number when not having international calls !?

Update to Hopper reply:
I called the number they gave, told them about the reply (and sent screenshots). The customer service representative looked into it and told me that the reply to this review was automated (not a real person), and he checked and there actually was nothing that could be done about the situation. Good to know that Hopper has AI replying to their bad reviews on this website, providing false promises to try and remedy the situation.
Original Review:
Lost money through Hopper. Technically, they are operating according to their policies, but their policies are very "fine print" and SUCK. Their $50+ "cancel for any reason" coverage expires after a week or two, no matter what the situation is (for me, an airline switched one of my return flights, which didn't work with my schedule). Not only did they NOT refund a flight I can't make, but they also kept that "cancel for any reason" fee, even though it didn't do anything for me. Never booking through them again. It's way easier and less financial loss to just book through the airline directly.

Basically we received a confirmation of our booking to
Miami. It clearly stated that breakfast was included with the price. When we arrived to the hotel, there was no note to say that breakfast was included. So we called customer service and they denied it was ever offered. The agent asked me for a screen shot of the email and confirmation and he agreed that it was an error on their part. He transferred me to the manager Shamadi and he was the rudest most arrogant manager for customer service I have ever spoken to. Even with the email , he denied that it was true. There was no help from his end nor any accommodation on his part.
Never again !!! Frustrated and upset to say the least. Pay more and save yourself time … it’s not worth it.

App is frustratingly inaccurate with flight predictions and often glitches.

I booked a hotel a few months ago, for personal reasons I needed to cancel. I cancelled within the refundable period, I also took screenshots of this being confirmed. When I tried to call Hopper, they were trying to tell me the cancellation didn’t go through on their end and that they couldn’t process my refund. I sent them the screenshots of the cancellation being confirmed and was then told again there was nothing that could be done about my refund, followed by alot of excuses. Hundreds of dollars wasted and poor customer service. I would not recommend booking with them, if anything goes wrong and you need to cancel, your time will be wasted on the phone to them with no solution and you will not get your money back. The biggest scam

Terrible company. They do not accept responsibility for things that are their fault, they lack transparency, and if there’s an issue, they will do nothing to rectify it. AVOID!

The worst customer service ever! I've used the app for years and now on a connecting flight home we are now stuck with over a 8 hr layover. They never updated the app or informed us to show that the connecting flight has changed times. If we would have at least known then we could have moved things around. Now we have 1 extra day to pay the baby sitter 1 extra day of parking and 1 more unpaid day from work. After talking to customer service and the manager we were not even given any type of credit or resolution at all. AVOID THIS APP!!! (5 more hours to go)

On the weekend of the London Marathon, I used the Hopper website to secure a hotel booking after struggling to find competitive deals on other platforms. I initially utilized the "Price Freeze" option for a hotel, intending to confirm later. However, I found a more affordable option directly on the hotel’s website and proceeded to book it, assuming the funds for the initial Price Freeze would be refunded automatically.
Unfortunately, Hopper retained the payment for the unconfirmed reservation without providing a valid explanation, citing only their terms and conditions. This lack of transparency felt deceptive and unacceptable. Furthermore, their customer service was highly unprofessional, unresponsive, and, at times, outright rude, failing to address my concerns adequately or offer a resolution.
This experience has led me to question the reliability of Hopper’s platform. I strongly advise potential users to exercise caution and consider booking directly with hotels or through more reputable platforms to avoid similar issues.

I am very disappointed with Hopper service!
First of all, they left me alone to solve the problems by my self, no support at all, and second, when I requested a Hotel on Yosemite Park, it was told me that the hotel given was very close, and happens that it was 1 hour of travel to Yosemite!
So, that is the first and last time I will use this service.
I had 2 confirmations codes, and I entered the last one, the one for Yosemite.

HOPPER'S HOTEL PRICE FREEZE SCAM
HOPPER used fake advertisement about hotel price freeze SCAM where they pretended to keep hotels'price low. They never contacted the hotel, but they only stole my $52 directly from my account and never made the reservation nor returned my money.
I want my money back.

I believe I was scammed by Hopper and Easirent due to a combination of deceptive practices, exploitative policies, and coordinated inaction that left me without a rental car, out $457.97, and forced to pay an additional $900 for a replacement rental. I have evidence of all of this and it has happened to many people.

Been with Hopper for a while but this service has definitely fallen off. Anyway, these guys are crooks and not worth the time. I got a car in Italy with Europcar for a short trip. I was charged GBP236. After completing the trip and returning the car with more fuel than it came with. On time. No damage. I'll abbreviate this headache. In short I was sent another invoice from Europcar saying I was being charged for refueling and also standard charges associated because it was an airport (separately from the first charge). When I looked at the invoice directly from Europcar (which I have in my possession and sent to Hopper), I had been charged only EUR189 (GBP160) by Europcar. In other words, hopper overcharged me GBP80, a 50% markup for no reason.
Additionally, I argued my case with Europcar directly about the refueling with photo evidence of fuel level, timing, damage etc. (also made me question what the point of having an agent like Hopper was). They rightfully reimbursed, but the extra charge for the location (which perhaps was meant to be factored in Hopper's charge) was still EUR 60 (GBP 50). In short, I am now GBP130 out of pocket, and Hopper has provided no response as to why my initial charge was so high, or why the standard charge applied after was not included in the original overcharge from Hopper. Complete mess up all the way around. Worst of all, not possible at all to reach Hopper. Virtual Assistant bots suck, number in the US if you need help, but patched through to a call center in India. These guys don't care about you. Worse thing is, I bit the bullet and called them to resolve the issue. Provided all the evidence in terms of invoices, responses from Europcar etc., only for them to give me a nonsensical response about how I would get no refund because I didn't return the car with enough fuel. These guys are actually incompetent nincompoops. They will waste your time, they will put you on hold, they will be unreachable and make you send emails to an inbox that they don't monitor, and then will slam the door in your face without actually doing the work required (probably in the hope that you get tired of it all and give up). I won't be giving up. These guys have made a small killing off of me, and have cost me even more in peace of mind.
Literally do not bother with Hopper. Even if you hear back from me and I tell you that I've gotten my GBP 130 back, or gotten a full refund because I've been a loyal customer and they 'somehow made an honest mistake', don't bamboozle yourself with this terrible service. You literally cannot be an agent with terrible customer service - defeats the entire model. Go use google flights or a proper agent, and actually give yourself the peace of mind you were looking for. To Hopper, I have sent another email laying out the entire issue to your 'unmonitored' help@ address. I hope you make this right soon before I escalate this further. Do better / pack up shop.
I won't be falling/let anyone else fall for this poor service offering. Just go ahead and take a look at the responses that they'll send for this. They'll answer a fraction of the issue presented and leave you in a ditch with a hole in your wallet. I'll wait for them to prove me right so you all have the evidence you need.

The app itself and everything else works fine and I've felt confident for years using it, but after dealing with customer service and getting literally LIED TO from their "Canadian help" I am never ever again using their services.
I rented a car through the app but unfortunately forgot my driver's license so there was no way for me to collect the it (from sixth) so my immediate thought was to call hopper and try to fix this situation or maybe hope for a refund. To my surprise, after talking to the customer support for 20 minutes, they told me that sixth has agreed to refund me within 7-10 days.
2 weeks had passed and I didn't get the money back so I called back again and asked what the situation is like. This time someone else answered and they said that there was no information about my case and that it's not possible to get the money back. Literally scamming people by lying and giving false hope through their incompetence.
Btw it's about 2USD per minute to call from my country to their customer support so I've lost ~50usd with that as well and I told them I can't talk for long but they kept saying "just give me a minute" which turned into 20.

Awful. Kept predicting prices would drop and they didn’t. Delete app and research on your own prices

Update***
Hopper did end up refunding me the money but it took leaving multiple poor reviews on the internet. I am willing to update to 2 stars due to this resolution.
I am not pleased with Hopper at this point. I had 2 very good experiences with no issues. My 3rd experience has been frustrating. I booked a car rental through the app and upon booking it said “includes all taxes and fees”. Just prior to pick up I checked in online with the rental company and saw additional taxes and fees displayed in the amount of approx $92. I contacted hopper immediately and provided screen shots. They told me there would be no additional fees unless I sign up for insurance or gas. I picked up the vehicle and they essentially said pay the extra $92 or you can’t take the car. They told me the fees were required and to take it up with Hopper. I took it, informed hopper, provided them with the receipt as requested. I called the next day, they stated they would look into this after the reservation had concluded. Afterwards I contacted them again, waited on hold for 30 mins to tell me that fee is required and it’s state taxes despite the fact that the reservation said all taxes and fees included upon booking and it did not state in the rental agreement that you should anticipate additional fees upon check in.

I used Hopper for the first time booking my flights and purchased the insurance to cancel anytime any reason. I had some unexpected come up and I cancelled my flights and when trying to get my full refund Hopper said I wasn’t eligible for a refund because I was one day outside my cancellation window! First when purchasing this extra insurance it’s very misleading because you think you can cancel anytime for any reason and that’s definitely not the case there is a fine print of the bottom of the email that has a date which as any person who gets an email doesn’t read the email in entirety. When asking for a solution to either rebook the flight that was just canceled with 10 minutes of the call or requesting a credit neither was done and when requesting for a supervisor to see if they could offer a solution it was that same excuse they took my my money canceled my flight and told me there was nothing they could do! I lost over 500 dollars when I purchased insurance just to be on the safe side and I still couldn’t get my money back they wanted to charge me an additional 300 to rebook the same flight I paid 500 for!! I reported them to the BBB this should be against any company to take people‘s money especially if they paid extra for the insurance to cancel anytime. I will never use this third party company again! I would advise you do the same.

Hopper travel protection is a HUGE SCAM. I will never book another flight with this app. Booked a flight I knew I might have to cancel during peak season. Not only was there no flexibility for travel origin and destination, NONE of the dates I wanted were available, but the cost of the flight during NON PEAK season was MORE expensive than the previously booked flight. This was through
Scandinavian Airlines by the way so I also will not be booking with this airline ever again.

For a car rental I called Hopper tog get clarification about any interstate restrictions. I trusted they knew the correct answers, which they did not. Of course, at the rental agency there was an extra $25 per day charge to leave the state. So the car cost more than twice as much as I initially paid Hopper. And with the holiday weekend, there was no chance or time to shop around.
I will deal with the car rental agency itself from now on. when I called after my trip, they informed me that i signed the contract at the rental agency and nothing could be done. Oh, they said I should of called them from the car rental place. Right, and waste precious travel time to our destination. No thanks Hopper!
