What customer service?

Customer service? What customer service? I've searched on their website for the manual for my T3R thermostat (which keeps dropping out and switching the heating off). The search returns NOTHING! Are they pretending they didn't make it then? So why does it say HONEYWELL on the front? I've tried to use the chat but "no agents are available". They seem only to cater for the US market which is not much help in the UK is it? And you can't email them. All you can do is to sign up to receive spam email from some cowboys called "Resideo".
Useless. Utterly useless.

Honeywell support good and bad

When you're able to reach somebody, support runs hot or cold. I've had really good support but I've also experienced horrible support. The company is based in Mexico and when you call in, the voice tree is from some annoying Indian or British voice, and the phone tree is complicated and makes you want to give up before getting through. And then when you get through, you often have to wait 30 minutes. That's why Google is my friend.

Terrible support and product doesn’t work

Terrible support. I have the T6 and hasn’t worked properly since I’ve had it. There is no complaints department, only support. The support is open for limited hours and the person is incredibly patronising and rude, he accused me of lying about the problem I continue to have.

This is a review of the T3 wireless…

This is a review of the T3 wireless boiler controller, not Honeywell themselves. I've not experienced their customer service. When I had my new boiler fitted, it came with a T3. I wasn't offered anything else by my plumber. It's a useless piece of kit, completely user unfriendly. In the old days, you would have your boiler on/off/on/off. Then we progressed to pin wheels, where you could have it coming on and off as many times as you wanted, based on people's comings and goings in the home. It was easy to add an hour, easy to take an evening off. Just push the pins one way or the other. The T3 does none of that. It is like going back to the 1970s, with the red and blue sliders on a wheel, but without the added benefit of being able to put it on constant at the flick of a switch. You can put it on manually, but only by changing the temperature in half degrees. So, if you have it on 13 degrees for the day as you're usually out, but you know you're popping home for an hour - you either reprogram it entirely to come on at an earlier time (then reprogram it entirely again to revert), or you increase the temperature to force it to come on when you get in. Honestly, it's just not a great control. It's like they built a basic control to make sure they had something in the cheaper end of the market, but unless your plumber mentions its limits to you, you're stuck with it. And it actually wouldn't take much to add a feature that enables you to override the current temperature at the push of a button for one hour. I think that's the annoying thing.

You can't expect our products to work if you only paid £300.

Bought Evohone security package, siren battery drains in weeks (no support so lived with it). Changed batteries in tag reader and it stopped working. Best Honeywells technical experts could advise was turn it on and off. I was then told by Honeywell that I couldn't expect there products not to be faulty if I've only paid £300. Was considering wider Evohome package but won't buy any Honeywell products again. Best advice I could give is to avoid residential Honeywell products.

T6 thermostat failed within a few…

T6 thermostat failed within a few months, they said they'd replace it then said I'd bought it second hand, absolute rubbish, I bought it new, boxed, have receipt. But no luck with these jokers, just don't answer my messages, emails or written letters. Nest next time.

Regret that I bought it.

Regret that I bought it.
I wanted to data parsing certain code from the scanned code. Before I purchased it, I asked the Honeywell Support team. They said this particular model can do it. So, I purchased. But it cannot do what they claim to do. I felt robbed or cheated. I ended up paying for buying another brand called Zebra. happy using it without problem.
It's only $200 loss to my company but very bad experience wasting time

Total rubbish

I purchased one of their safes from Amazon recently (Model 5005) and have had nothing but trouble from the word go. I put a considerable amount of cash together with jewellery etc. in this nightmare item, and then the fun began! Straight away it started beeping. Not good. I entered the code. It continued to beep. Long story short. I used the key supplied and got it open. I put new batteries in this piece of s**t but it STILL continues to "BEEP" Driving me mad.
Unless you are in the mood to tear your hair out, do not buy one.

I have a True Steam furnace Humidifier 509A…fire hazard.

I have a True Steam furnace 509A humidifier. It failed early on. I called Honeywell and had the case report sent to higher level. They never called back. I then called and got some guy in India, who said they no longer support it. My original installer came out and said he had no idea how to fix it (after they charged me $1000 to install it. ) I looked at Y Tube and saw a solution, ordered a water level sensor, and it worked. I turned it on this past week after a year of not using it and the water tank did not fill. I followed directions to recycle, and still no fill. The cord got so hot I burned my hand pulling it out of the wall socket. I now find there was a class action law suit over the True Steams. I was never advised. I wrote HoneyWell and they sent a phone number to call. “Resideo” was the company I was told to call and they say they are busy and put you on hold. Spent an hour on hold. I called Resideo again. I got through this time and he said the whole thing did not sound like Honeywell handled it well. He offered me “the monthly special discount on a thermostat ?????” Really ?? He then switched me to “Waterworks’ and I was on hold for 20 minutes, and yes gave up ! I called Honeywell in Minneapolis to get some one to help me. I talked with a guy named “Billy” who just laughed when I told him I almost had a home fire because of my faulty Honeywell True Steam Humidifier. They sold a unit that was defective and could care less. Honeywell customer service is horrible . I will never buy a Honeywell anything again.

Complete trash - both product and support

Failed within 3 months - wouldn’t boot at all. Customer service wanted me to remove the replacement thermostat I put in, measure the voltage on the old one, and then they would consider a warranty replacement.

Went straight into trash - don’t bother doing business with companies that want you to disable your heat and spend hours troubleshooting with them to replace a $100 thermostat. Get a Nest; it’s been working flawlessly ever since.

Appalling equipment and customer service

A great concept but completely useless.
We bought the Evo Home kit to replace out Nest system and regret every second. If there is a fault you, as the owner, cannot fix it, you have to 'call out your installer' who will very quickly (and very rightly) get pissed off with having to keep coming out to fix a flawed system . If anything fails, there is no way to override and manually take control so your whole system shuts down, which in winter in pretty diabolical. It is completely user-unfriendly. That aside, it just doesn't work. It does its own thing, changes temperatures, changes the schedule or just does nothing.
The worst thing... Customer services will just ignore you. I've emailed them and they're not interested.
Save your money, buy a Nest. It was the best thing we gave up.

A disappointment

We bought a Honeywell DC515 in Feb. 2020 via Action on Hearing Loss (now RNID) - said to be suitable for people with hearing loss. Shortly after installation, the bell push plate fell off. We replaced the bell push but it happened again with the second one. Now the bell is working only intermittently. The original plan was to move the bell from place to place so that we could hear it from the garden for example but, because of the position of the controls, taking it out of its socket often meant we had to reset it so we rather gave up on that. Lovely when it works but not reliable in our experience.

Try contacting Honeywell customer support? Impossible.

We have a Honeywell wall heater in the bathroom. The quartz heating elements have failed. Try to contact the company to find where to get replacements? Impossible. A maze of web pages leading to 404 errors, live chats abandonded and a random email from a Kazakhstan address telling me it's made by another company. Never buy anything from Honeywell. They don't care.
