Leazes Parade

I stayed at Leazes Parade for a year and it has been a very good experience in terms of the facilities, the staff and their efficiency. It is very affordable for students and offers great amenities like common rooms, gym, maintenance support and on site parking. The staff is friendly and always prompt and helpful. It’s safe and a good distance from the universities and city centre. I would definitely recommend it to any students looking to stay in the area.

False promises made and can't be delivered

Not at all pro-active. I had to wait so long to get a viewing and in the end with one week to move, I still didn't have any home. I had to do everything myself in the last few days to secure a home. Couldn't rely on Homie. I asked homie to send a video of the flat as I can't come in person - the video that was sent was so shaky, zoomed in and not at all clear.
Also they don't come to pick you up unless you're in their preferred areas in London.

Worst service ever experienced..

I had booked my viewing and paid the flat fee, but then all of a sudden I received an email that my payment had been refunded (money that I still have not received, so they are probably just keeping that). Then they cancelled my viewing and said that they could not take more people in... It is such a shameful service and such a scam that they just lure money out of people to cancel you last minute. My girlfriend and I are urgently in need of an apartment, but we will then need to use other services as Homie is apparently the worst one on the market..

Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!

If you're new to London and looking for accommodation then Homie is the perfect service. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, Homie takes care of organising your viewings and the travel in between. My Homie, Ben, was an absolute star; just who you need on your side when searching for somewhere to live in London.

Highly recommend!!

Homie made the entire apartment search process completely painless and even fun! Everyone I interacted with was super helpful and quick with their responses, and seemed genuinely interested in finding the right selection of apartments to show us. On the day of the tour, our homie Charles picked us up in a black cab and took us on a tour of London as we checked out several apartments, and then even put in the offer for us on the apartment we liked! Biggest advantages: we saw several apartments we liked, didn't have to coordinate/deal with a single agent, and had an apartment within 3 days of landing in London! Can't recommend this service enough!!

Platform doesn't work properly :(

Homie was recommended by a close friend which had a wonderful experience, so I was very excited to try it out. Although the concept is great, my experience, unfortunately, was far from it. My homie was always very nice, but the turnover of searches was quite slow. Be aware that the do high quality/high price properties - just in case you're looking for something on a budget.

When I tried booking for a tour it asked me to pay, because you need to pay a one time fee for your first tour booking and then you don't pay for any more tours going forward. Being in digital product myself, I found this to be very misleading - as I got charged right away - but then it turned out that they needed to check with the landlord first upon making the booking for a viewing. So I was charged, and then they let me know the property wasn't available... very poor experience. I was a bit annoyed.

Later on, I decided to proceed looking for properties on other apps, which was more efficient. I tried to book a tour again, but had the same problems. My only problem really is towards the digital product / platform which I think could do a lot of improvements on the UX! After I decided to go with another app, I asked to get a refund because I never managed to book a tour. I had to ask 3 times, in a space of 1 week and I still haven't received my money back. I am usually a very patient person, but I think that waiting time was too high - because now I will not recommend it to anyone. Hopefully the UX improves!

Firstly, let us assure you that the refund was processed on Aug, 8th. As usual with electronic payments, it can take up to 10 business days to reach your account.

To book a tour, your Homie needs to call every estate agent and confirm the availability of the properties. Because it can be a very resource-intensive task, we ask for payment to ensure commitment on the renter side.

Unfortunately, in high demand periods like summer, it is likely that if your budget is close to the minimum we recommend for the properties we find, a lot of your choices will be gone in the blink of an eye.


We really appreciate your feedback on UX. Our platform is a constant work in progress. We talked to many of our users over the summer, and as a result of their feedback, we will be releasing big UX and product improvements soon.
