Decided to start charging 39$ a month…

Decided to start charging 4$ a month to be allowed to use Alexa/smartphone integration. The only reason I got the hub was to use it with Alexa. Now I'm stuck with a system completely set up but unable to be used until I for out more cash with no refund option. Scammers.

You will get no meaningful tech…

You will get no meaningful tech support.

I've been using Homeseer for years, since 2017, and decided to give their most powerful system a go. If you get one of these systems get ready to spend all of your free time trying to get it to work. I've spent weeks trying to get it to work now. All tech support can tell me is that there is "too much traffic on my z-wave network" with no meaningful suggestions on how to correct those issues. I've been trying to get this system to work since April 9. It's now May 25.

Yet all of this worked just fine in the old least powerful Homeseer system. Huge decline in service and a product that's not ready for commercial sale. If it was freeware or donationware it would be a different story. All of the freeware and donationware software that I've used had worked much better than this stuff and with less effort.

Seems it's time to move on to something else. From what I've read most are moving to Home Assistant. I guess I'm going to follow the crowd.

Great software but not for me any more

I've been using Homeseer for many years. The main software has been extremely reliable. For me, it's let down by . .
(1) my older X10 tech that used to be reliable before the approvals bodies allowed noisy switched mode plug-top power supplies.
(2) dependency on a PC
((3) Homeseer's upgrade path which has been like starting afresh.
I may keep using it as an ancilliary control after I design my own hardware to replace it all

Thieves

Thieves. Bait and switch artists. Their hometroller was a very good product, until they decided they weren't making enough money, so they figured they'd just brick everyone's devices until we pay them more. Do not give these crooks a red penny.

When "Free" steals your privacy.

I went through the entire procedure to download and install the "Free" 30-Day trial version of HomeSeer HS4 software, per their online instructions. I had a bad, bad feeling about how this was going to end up and I was right.
After installation, you are instructed to go to their website to start using, where you have to begin by "purchasing" a license key to get the "free" software. It then goes to full checkout ($0) where you are still REQUIRED to enter 1) email address, 2) payment method 3) full billing info - name and address and 4) phone number. Now they gotcha. Know everything about you, including credit card/financial info.I did not proceed further. I presume that when 30 days expires you will then get automatically billed. Unless you follow some complex, convoluted cancellation process.
These are the kind of people I do NOT trust and will NOT do business with. Lost a potential real customer. Too unsavory.
