Actually more expensive than just booking direct

I gained access to a half price membership via my employer thinking I'd unlock fantastic deals, but I've now compared prices across a few hotel/holiday bookings and it all situations, holidayexclusives gives out a much more expensive deal with less flexibility in cancellation. Too bad as I already booked a non refundable hotel rate which ended up costing more than had I booked direct with the hotel - which also would have given me free cancellation until the day before.
