My First Choice of Hotel in Blackpool

I have stayed at the Hilton in Blackpool on several occasions as it is in a quieter area, ample parking and across from the Tram Stop.
I have always enjoyed my stays and the hotel is spotlessly clean and the food is great too.
Due to an unfortunate sudden Health emergency I had to contact the hotel to cancel my room as I was in hospital, and the Manager, Matthew McWhinnie couldn't do enough to help me.
I have now booked to stay on 29th January and 12th April as I am going to shows in Blackpool and I am looking forward to returning.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I always look to book this first and hope there is a vacancy.

Hotel set in beautiful grounds

Once a year, my partner & I treat ourselves to stay in the Hilton in Syon Park which is set in beautiful grounds of the park. Gabriele the front of house manager is excellent in all aspects of customer service, as are all the staff we have met here and will go above and beyond to make sure our stay is memorable, if we have ever had the odd problem in our room the issue has been resolved straight away, we have even been upgraded to a more luxurious room to make sure our stay with them is the best

We will be back!

Many problems with the DoubleTree Jacksonville Riverview

We booked a riverview room to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks at:
Doubletree Hilton
1201 Riverplace Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207
Room 1031 - balcony, king, riverview

Pros:
* Nice location on the river.
* We had a top floor river view room that was perfect to watch the fireworks that were set off on the river.
* Pillows are really nice.
* Internet was very good.
* Handicap parking is free.
* Minifridge in room.

Cons:
* Carpets look like original installed when the hotel was built - in really bad shape.
* Room door does not close on its own - must push shut.
* Bathroom door will not shut all the way.
* Shower faucet broken.
* Heating unit very noisy - had to shut off to sleep.
* Walls are very thin - noise from hallway and next door not muffled at all.
* Hotel gave away all parking on New Years Eve - there was no parking place for us when we returned from dinner. Finally went to valet to get parking spot. Fortunately, we were comp'd for valet parking, but we had to remove all our belongings from the car, since we are giving up the key.
* Restaurant was only available at the bar - I thought we were going to have a nice dinner at the restaurant. The bartender was our server. (He did a good job)
* TV took a very long time to come on, and there's no guide.
* No concierge available to help with tourist activities.
* No microwave in room.
* No room service.
* No hotel booklet.
* Shower door is installed incorrectly in room 1031.

The worst Managment experience…

I had a very disappointing experience at Hilton Prague. The hotel refused to return my deposit without a valid explanation, and the attitude of the staff and management was extremely unprofessional.
This stay has caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience, and I would not recommend this property at all.

RACISM AND STEREOTYPING AND DISRESPECT AT HAMPTON BY HILTON MANCHESTER NORTHERN QUARTER!!!

Complaint Letter — Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter
Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Discriminatory and Unprofessional Treatment During Stay (26–30 October 2025)

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to raise a serious complaint regarding the treatment my aunt and her son received during their stay at Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter from 26/10/2025 to 29/10/2025, with the intention to extend their stay to 30/10/2025.

On 29/10/2025, my aunt contacted reception to request an additional night because her son had become extremely unwell and was not able to travel. The receptionist confirmed availability, provided a price, and advised my aunt that she could come down the next morning to complete payment.

Shortly after this call, my aunt—who is 74 years old—received an unexpected knock at the door. The same receptionist accused her and her seriously ill son of smoking marijuana in the room. This accusation was completely false, distressing, and unfounded.

The receptionist then forced her way into the room without consent, claiming she needed to search for evidence. She found nothing, smelled nothing, and left without apology or explanation. This intrusion was inappropriate, intimidating, and a violation of their privacy.

The following morning, my aunt was informed that the receptionist had not added the extra night to the booking after all, and she was quoted a higher rate than the one originally agreed.

My aunt and her son are Black Caribbean, while the receptionist involved is white. Given the lack of evidence, the aggressive manner, the false accusation, and the breach of privacy, our family has strong reason to believe that racial bias influenced the receptionist’s behaviour.

This incident has caused significant distress to our elderly aunt, who was already under great emotional pressure due to her son's deteriorating health. Her son has since been hospitalised for over a month, and our family has been coping with both emotional and financial strain. Only now are we in a position to formally address what happened.

We request the following:

A full investigation into the conduct of the receptionist involved.

An explanation for the forced entry into the room without permission.

Clarification as to why an agreed room extension was later denied.

Confirmation of what steps will be taken to prevent similar discriminatory treatment in the future.

A written apology to my aunt and her son.

We expect this matter to be treated with the seriousness it warrants. This behaviour is unacceptable in any circumstance, but especially within a Hilton-branded hotel where guests should feel safe, respected, and treated equally.

We look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Zaynah Lodge on behalf of Letitia Webb

Hilton Bankside… beware ongoing work

We stayed at the Hilton Bankside for Friday and Saturday nights in an executive room- it was intended to be a pre-Christmas treat, we had booked at the Globe. The windows were completely frosted so we couldn’t see out and there was no natural light, so the room was very dark. I went down to reception to ask if our room could be changed to be told that all the executive rooms were like that. We were offered a deluxe room ( one price level down) instead. The man at reception was helpful and polite and did show me this alternative room. We still had no view because we were looking at scaffolding in an internal space but at least this room had some natural light. There is no indication on the website that this extensive work is going on and the subsequent impact on the rooms. When we came to check out we were still being charged £900 for the two nights in an executive rooms. We pointed out that we actually stayed in a less expensive room but were told that the hotel was unable to discount us because the reservation team only work mon-Fri and only they would know what the rate was for the nights we had stayed. This seemed ludicrous to me that in a hotel the size of the Hilton no one knew what the rates were for the two last nights… moreover this information wasn’t available on any computer or in any database… astonishing! The saga is ongoing …update: we emailed the Hilton the day after we returned home, they responded to say they would refund the difference between the two rooms which amounted to £100 over the two nights. Please note that they only agreed to this after we kicked up a fuss about it.

DO NOT STAY AT SPARK rochester south!

DO NOT STAY THERE! Hotel does not have an own shuttle as advertised!
a shuttle contractor! comes for pick up just 5 times a day. Pick up from MAYO just on certain times. Means a long wait for the shuttle at MAYO.
Found Bio hazardous trash in the room. Was a bloody bandage. Front desk staff is rude. Candy called me a liar! Said i put this there myself. Never got mistreated by front desk staff like this! Unacceptable reaction even for a Motel 6.
Breakfast nothing warm. Not even an english muffin. More diamond member parking spaces than for handicapped people. No salt was applied to outside area. SLIPPERY in parking lot. TERRIBLE HOTEL!

Minus would be my score

Minus would be my score, absolutely shocking treatment by William street Glasgow Hilton, I am a pensioner and after our terrible experience it clear pensioners are just not important in this place, I had saved to give my husband a special treat for his birthday because he had been unwell . I paid for an executive room the room itself was very special, however reception staff were absolutely useless , for some reason known only to themselves they charged my card twice. This only the person on the desk decided to charge me twice was known to her? I had informed her on arrival the room had been paid for. I had to wait 5 days for my refund . I did make a complaint as this ruined our whole experience all the reply we got was basically we are sorry but your money will/is being refunded ,

Hilton York - underwhelmed

Hilton York . Tower Street . Check in poor , wouldn’t let me check in until person on same booking different room arrived . Had separate booking for night after couldn’t guarantee I would have same room . I done this many time at other hotels nota problem . The only answer I got company policy . Minor point but after check in , contactless not working at bar .restaurant staff really good . WiFi didn’t work after adding details , called reception on room phone , could not hear reception on phone ,volume rubbish . Did not get it sorted .

Can’t wait until tomorrow .

Redeemed themselves today , kept the same room as last night , guys on reception great . However kept getting told parking at hotel was full and come back at 11am . I did this and told people still need to check out come back at 12 , I did and 1pm only to be told all car parking was per booked and full . Surely they knew this at 8am ?
Meeting room we had and facilities excellent . Thank you to that team .

I am beyond upset with Hampton Inns

I am beyond upset with Hampton Inns. I called the number I found online for Hampton Inn to book a room at the Hampton Inn in Valdosta Ga. I am connected with some woman who barely spoke English. She booked me at the wrong Hampton Inn in Valdosta. As she was confirming all the information, I heard her say the wrong address for the Hampton I wanted. So, I told her that was not the correct address. I told her the address of the Hampton I wanted. She then booked me for the correct location. I called to confirm the incorrect reservation had been cancelled only to find out there is a no refund policy for that room which I did not agree to. Then when I called Hilton corporate, I find out I was not dealing with Hampton Inn, but with some janky third-party foreign company. WHY CAN'T I DEAL DIRECTLY WITH AN AMERICAN IN AN AMERICAN COMPANY? I will not pay for a room I did not agree to stay in. When I contacted Hilton, I was told they could locate neither the confirmation number nor the itinerary number because a third party was used. This is absolutely unsatisfactory.

Hilton Hotel at Islington Angel…

We had booked the Hilton Hotel at Angel Islington for 3 nights.
We were allocated our room which we discovered on our 1st morning had a broken window lock that could not be closed. This was not obvious as the drapes and curtains were pulled over. The room was freezing cold (2°) outside and the noise of the builders woke us early. We complained and we were allocated another room which it transpired also did not have operational heating, once again we complained to reception who said they would look into it. But no improvement.
3 cold nights in the hotel and paid £700 for the pleasure. Really unsatisfactory service from Hilton.
