I honestly really love hostelling…
I honestly really love hostelling international. I use it for my solo travels for business and pleasure. It’s easy to book, rooms are clean plus Breakfast available and a great way to make new friends and experience new cultures. Hopefully they would expand to Africa because I am planning to tour my continent. And I can’t wait. Overall 👍🏿

Terrible booking experience
This is, unfortunately, the worst booking experience I ever had.
1) I have HI membership activated and I'm signed in, so the site knows about it. During booking, it still offers me to buy membership, and after booking it offers to activate it, even when I already have one and it's activated.
2) Choosing the room - above the room selection, there is note "Prices are member prices". Under room selection is note "prices are non-member, members get discount on arrival".
3) Again, choosing room. "4 bed mixed. number of beds: 6". "8 bed mixed. number of beds: 6"
4) Prices. As HI is based in UK (which is still in EU by now), it is legally obliged to show the final price, INCLUDING taxes.

Please show your membership to the hostel at your arrival and you will then receive your membership discount. Regarding your query regarding the room type, please can you email the hostel you are having trouble with into info@hihostels.com and we will investigate further into this. Please note, we are not always able to show the final prices as prices can differ depending on local taxes. I can confirm that this is explained on each hostels important info box on their profiles.

What to expect?
Difficult to understand what was ni the room and not. Sheets and towels . Showers and toilets. i Just go for sleep and it was okey for that. I think book 2 bed room but i get 4bed for myselfe. So a little more clear what to bring with you. And no toilet in room is important information. But 24h reception is good and the staff was very nice..
