On 9/2/26, I paid a premium price of $275 for what was supposed to be a professional Design Essentials STS Express Smoothing Treatment, and it was a complete disaster. When I left the chair, the temporary flat iron press looked fine, but the second I stepped outside, my hair completely puffed up and reverted. An employee there gave me a shower cap to protect my hair and even that did not help the poor salon treatment I received. I even had an umbrella. My hair did not get wet.
By the time I arrived home to the time I went to bed, the entire style was a frizzy, ruined mess. An STS treatment is chemically engineered to be instantly weatherproof. The fact that my 4C hair expanded immediately proves that Raven lacked the technical skill to apply and thermally activate the product correctly.When I reached out for a refund, she stalled and claimed she couldn't issue one until she "evaluated the situation." More importantly, I have absolutely no confidence to sit in her chair a second time after she failed so miserably to perform the basic service I paid for initially. Would you go back to a doctor who botched a surgery? Would you call a plumber back if he damaged your pipes? Would you go back to a car dealer who sold you a lemon? Absolutely not. She hides her poor technique under heavy styling oils to get you out the door, blames the weather when it immediately fails, and holds your money hostage.
