We had great guides and, in the main, good hotels. The people on the tour were a delight and it was everything I hoped it would be,
Jammie and Sami were a good team and I could not fault them. This was the 3rd Hidden Histories trip I have been on and the tour guides are all top notch.
The lunches were excellent and two of the hotels, the one at Sousse and the one at Thugga were excellent. The Tunis Regency was awful. The staff were dreadful. It was short stay but, even so it was not serviced at all on the middle day. I complained to no avail.
I would not like to end the review on a sour note for I came back enlightened, educated and entertained. As a writer it gave me tons of material for my next book.

Hidden History Travel provides a personal and friendly service. If you ring or email you always get a response from Simon the owner which makes life a lot easier. Pre trip information is very comprehensive. The tour guides are experts in their fields as well as being friendly and approachable. There is often the opportunity to visit archaeological sites that are not open to the general public. Have taken four trips with this company and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them as well as extending my knowledge of different civilisations.

A perfectly paced tour of wonderful Sicilian sites with an extraordinarily well qualified guide who was also articulate, organized, considerate and very amiable. The logistical aspects were well thought out and contributed to an enhanced relaxing but engaging experience.

I recently went on the Varian Disaster Tour with Hidden History, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The tour with book author Ben Kane dove deep into the fascinating story of the Roman Empire's defeat in the Teutoburg Forest, and brought the historical events to life in a way that was both engaging and immersive.

Ben was incredibly knowledgeable—not just about the battle itself, but also about the broader context of Roman and Germanic history. The sites we visited were well chosen, offering both scenic views and a real sense of historical significance. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into creating a balanced and enriching itinerary.

I especially appreciated the small-group atmosphere we had of 15 people and the attention to detail that Hidden History provided. Whether you're a history buff or just curious about the ancient world, this tour offers a unique and meaningful experience. Highly recommended!

I loved the tour of Umbria, which was a revelation. The Roman archaeology is superb and all the medieval stone buildings on top in the gorgeous Umbrian landscape are impressive. The churches and cathedrals contain amazing paintings and frescoes. Staff and guides at Hidden History are knowledgeable and helpful, the organisation during the week was excellent, but be prepared to walk!

A well designed and led tour that brought Roman history to life.
The tour guide, ben Kane was excellent. His knowledge is second to none. The coach driver, Martin, was everything you could have wanted in a driver. The people ion the tour were a delight. I am just sorry that I have done the two Ben Kane tours. If there was a third I would sign up unseen!

We keep coming back because HH hits a sweet spot between gastronomic luxury and bargain basement tours.
Everything is always well organised and we visit all the important sites.

Simple to book a tour. Detailed itinerary information before tour. Met at the airport. Wonderful guide informative and good with people. High standard hotel with willing kind staff, and great food. Small group so more friendly and easier to collect us together at tour destinations. Terrific tour, booking again.

Excellent guide and fascinating subject matter if you love Italy! Dining out was varied and very good. Staying in one hotel (very charming in old city) made sense to avoid constant packing and re-packing. Mixed group from Britain, U.S., and Canada very congenial and interested.

Everything was very well organised, and the itinerary was interesting and enjoyable. This is my second tour with Hidden History, and I plan to take more. As on my previous tour, the hotel was comfortable and characterful, and our tour guide was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable.

The selection of places visited was excellent, and the tour leaders/guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Everything ran very smoothly, in spite of a last-minute change of tour leader owing to illness. The hotel was comfortable and characterful, and conveniently placed for the railways station and the city centre. I can't think of any negatives, and will certainly book again with this company.

We had a great holiday visiting Crete and Santorini with Hidden Histories. We visited a range of very interesting sites with very knowledgeable tour leaders. The group got on very well and the tour leaders were friendly and approachable and actively included everybody in the experiences and discussions. The daily trips were organised well, the hotel was very good with friendly staff and excellent food. We will definitely be looking a booking further tours with this company.

Our trip with Hidden History to Occitania and Andorra was an incredible experience. Our tour director was knowledgeable and he brilliantly shared his knowledge and insights with the group. We had ample time to explore the castles and churches that were included in the itinerary. A highlight was exploring the cave paintings at the Grotte de Niaux.

The worries about the things that could go wrong, before we ever got to Toulouse, were mostly unfounded. Airports, flights and baggage all worked okay and we needn't have wasted quite so much time downloading apps and documents which might have been required. A large luxurious coach awaited us upon arrival and the tour progressed just like any taken pre-Covid. It was a good group with an excellent leader. The itinerary was good and varied, and at a sensible pace, with a good choice of hotels. All in all a memorable holiday, thank you Martin and Simon.
