Really happy with the service from Hexo Electrical Testing! The whole process was quick and easy to arrange, and everything was handled in a friendly and professional way. The engineer was on time, approachable, and explained things clearly.
The report came through promptly too, which was great. Would definitely recommend 😊

I used Hexo Electrical Testing for an EICR inspection and had a very good experience overall. Communication was clear and straightforward, visits were arranged promptly and the engineer arrived on time to carry out the work efficiently.
A professional and reliable service - just what landlords need. I’d be happy to use Hexo again in the future and recommend them for whoever requires an EICR.

Stay clear of this company. Take note of all the other 1* reviews on here and elsewhere. This company is full of con artist, plain and simple scamming people. We needed an EICR certificate as part of Building Control process following a renovation of our flat. Hexo representative turned up, took some photos and left about 10 mins later. Then I received the UNSATISFACTORY certificate suggesting at least £786 worth of work is needed to receive SATISFACTORY one. I raised a number of questions about some of the items listed (such a new light fitting..) but received no response. I was however chased to schedule the quoted work in! At that point I lost all trust in these conmen and contacted an alternative company that ended up charging £135 for a very straight forward update to our consumer unit and issuing the SATISFACTORY certificate. Building control signed off without any issues.
I also made a report to trading standards.
Save yourselves time and money and look elsewhere.
Go with other companies, would not recommend
I found this company difficult to deal with from the early stages. I called in January to book an appointment for an EICR test (was given a date of 16th Jan) and specifically informed them that my tenants have limited availability, so it was important that the appointment went ahead as scheduled.
Unfortunately, on the 16th they contacted me to postpone the appointment until the 22nd of January. They advertise that reports are provided within one day, yet I did not receive the report until the 3rd of February — more than two weeks later from original appointment.
They then provided a quotation for remedial work, but it included items I had not asked them to fix, as I had already arranged for another contractor to deal with those. Communication was slow and they did not seem to understand my requests to remove the unnecessary items. It felt as though they were more focused on obtaining payment upfront than addressing my concerns.
Eventually after I sent them numerous email they sent a revised quote, which I paid. However, 4 days after payment they informed me they were waiting for parts and that the appointment scheduled for the 17th of February could not go ahead. This was disappointing, especially as this information only came after payment had been made. For an electrical company, I would expect them to have standard parts and materials readily available for typical residential work, rather than needing to wait weeks for suppliers.
The situation was made worse by the way it was handled by the manager, Max. His communication became rude and unprofessional, and at one point he stated in an email that he would not be dealing with the complaint I had raised. I felt I was not treated with respect.
Overall, the process became very stressful. As a landlord I have legal responsibilities to ensure compliance, and if I had not continually chased this matter, I believe the work might still not have been completed. This was particularly difficult as I was out of the country dealing with a family situation and email was my only means of communication.
They timely managed to arrange and install the electrical parts within the quoted time period .Hence after issued the completion certificate.

I would definitely use Hexo again as all the work was carried out to a high standard and the engineer was polite and friendly. The quote was competitive and work was carried out quickly.

Very efficient booking process over the phone, no time wasting, very direct.
Customer service was great, they were able to call me back when I asked.
I managed to get the booking which was nice as my schedule is so busy.
The main thing I was concerned before booking was the price but much to my surprise, I was very happy with it.
Compared with 2 different other companies and these guys were the quickest with the quote as well as the cheapest.
I was pleasantly surprised with the works carried out for the value of the job.
The engineer that arrived was a very nice guy, he was interactive and most importantly, very tidy on the job.
I also received the EICR very quickly too, this filled me with a lot of confidence.
I am very pleased with the way this company has operated, I would highly recommend them to anyone needing them.

The team at Hexo recently did some work on a property our company cares for/works with. I found them very prompt in terms of their response time and very helpful in providing the remedial works necessary for an EICR.

Very efficient from start to finish with prompt communication throughout the process. Also very reasonably priced compared to other companies in the London area.

Initial quote for EICR - £168. Suggested a remedial work for a quote of £1,362.00 which is completed on 31st Jan 2026 for which i was promised a report in 10 working days. Called them 5 times and same reply all 5 times - "We will get back to you". This morning, when i said - i may have to write a trust pilot review based on my frustrating experience, the response was "Feel free".
Quote Date 24/01/2026
Quote Number HX-17510
To HEXO - If i am scammed, please feel free to say so so that I can make alternate arrangements.

Update on 27 Feb 2027:
====================================
Timeline:
1. First communication: 11 Jan 2026 to schedule an EICR and quote received on same day for £168
2. After the assessment, received additional invoice of £36 (for testing 2 extra circuits)
3. Report received on: 24 Jan 2026 saying remedial work needed for a quote of £1362
4. Remedial work carried on 28 Jan 2026
5. No communication after this despite 10 working days commitment and 4 follow ups.
6. Written a trust pilot review on 17 Feb 2026.
7. After my negative review on trust pilot, i received an email saying additional issues were identified and to issue EICR, i needed to pay an additional amount for 3 hours at the rate of £95.00 per hour + VAT (approximately £342).
8. I replied to the email same day asking why this was not identified in initial assessment, no response to email so far.
9. Received a call on 26 Feb in response to trust pilot review NOT in response to my email which did not make any sense as I was asked what amount i would be happy to take to take down my review.
Conclusions:
1. Hexo quotes for EICR assessment or remedial works are NOT reliable. They can change any time to any extent.
2. 10 day turn around time is a myth
3. The company does not know what the assessor or the engineer does. Possibly, they are not employees but purely contractors.
4. Get a quote, do partial work, increase the quote - seems to be the modus operandi.
EICR:
I contacted my local electrician and got EICR today for £150.

Poor Communication, Missed Deadlines, and Unfulfilled Promises - Avoid
I booked Hexo Electrical for an EICR on a commercial property. While the initial booking process was straightforward and they were proactive about securing a date, the service deteriorated significantly after the inspection.
Report Delivery Issues:
We were initially told 6-7 days for the report. When it didn’t arrive, we were directed to terms and conditions stating “up to 15 working days.” Confusingly, we also received an email claiming a 10-day turnaround. On day 10, still no report.
Charged Extra for Service Not Delivered:
A supervisor then contacted me offering next-day delivery for an additional £50. I paid this fee, but the reports still didn’t arrive the next day - they eventually came 5 days later.
Appalling Customer Service:
Over three weeks, my repeated calls and emails went largely unanswered. When I did get through (after 20+ minute wait times to a call centre in the Philippines), I received apologies and assurances that matters would be “escalated,” but nothing changed. In that entire period, I was proactively contacted only once - to ask for more money.
I have requested a refund for the “accelerated” service that was never provided. No response.
Recommendation:
Look elsewhere for electrical testing and remedial work. The lack of communication, inconsistent information, and failure to deliver paid services makes this company unreliable for commercial work where deadlines matter. Based on my experience the positive reviews they have make no sense.
