I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with Henley Glass on Greys road in Henley I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution. From the beginning, communication was poor and inconsistent. It was extremely difficult to get clear answers, and when they did respond, their emails often came across as rude and unprofessional.

One of the most concerning issues was their pricing. After initially agreeing on costs ,I was later sent a document showing significantly lower prices than what I had invoiced for and which I had paid . In an effort to clarify I contacted the office by phone . I was informed pricing was done by a person that was not available at the time . Several days later , rather than receiving clarification , I received an email from the person that was responsible for pricing he accused me of trying to unravel and undermine the process . His response was particularly unexpected and concerning , given I was simply seeking an explanation .

To make matters worse, instead of addressing these concerns or attempting to resolve the situation, they abruptly cancelled the job and charged me a fee for the cancellation . There was no apology, no reasonable explanation, and no effort to take responsibility for their actions .This lack of transparency felt misleading and untrustworthy.

Overall, the experience was frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable service or respectful communication.

We are a small school in Cookham

We are a small school in Cookham, Berkshire. We had a Velux window that had been damaged. We looked at glass companies in the local area, to visit us and give us a quote to supply & fit. As we are a school, and have redistricted hours that we are open, Henley Glass were very accommodating. The quote was very competitive, and we decided to go ahead. The work was carried out by a team of three, due to the position of the Velux window. The workmanship was excellent and we use them again if the need arises.
Thank you

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. Had arranged for someone to give me a quote and they didn't bother turning up. No phone call or email saying that they wouldn't. Wasted and hour and half waiting.

What a shambles

What a shambles. Henley Glass have visited my home twice to provide a quotation for window replacement having lost the paper work from the first visit. Never heard back from them.

I cannot praise Henley Glass enough on…

I cannot praise Henley Glass enough on this occasion. I called them on spec about one of our elderly residents with a double glazed door which she could not lock from the inside. An engineer arrived on site in less than one hour and fixed the problem there and then. Our resident is very grateful. Very many thanks, Steve Croston.

Shocking service + aftercare. Please avoid!

I have had the displeasure in using Henley Glass 3 times now due to my building management company on my current and previous flat specifying they had to do the work so I unfortunately had no choice.

The company’s time management has been poor 2 out of the 3 times I’ve used them. On large projects where they are replacing the windows in a whole block of flats, they seem to give you a date which they need access to the property to fit new windows and when they fall behind schedule they fail to inform you resulting in you taking unnecessary days off, having to chase Henley glass for continuous updates.

When they finally fitted the windows there were a couple of snagging issues, trickle vents not working properly (sticking) and a piece of missing beading meaning they had to fix these at a later date.

A manufacturing fault or issue with fitting the glass panel caused my bedroom window to make a loud explosion noise in the middle of the night, then on inspection I discovered it had cracked only on the inside panel and the gas in between the 2 panels had obviously escaped. I don’t believe a window should crack out of the blue without any intervention or impact and it suggests to me that it’s a manufacturing fault or fitting error, which others also elude to online (search for “spontaneous glass breakage”).

Henley Glass came to inspect the window and the person inspecting wasn’t interested in investigating why this occurred or establishing the fault (such as the beading being too tight, a chip in the glass while fitting etc) and was more interested in just quoting a new panel. They only did a quick 5-10 second visual inspection and didn’t take the beading off or anything. I did mention that I believed it was faulty and my reasoning and then the person inspecting seemed to be trying to pass the buck to me, saying how do they know that I didn’t slam it and they didn’t want to argue about it at this time on a Saturday morning which I didn’t think was particularly professional. I mean how do I know they didn’t fit a sub-standard panel or fit it incorrectly.

I subsequently received the quote and they just stated that the window was cracked and not faulty and not covered by their 10 year guarantee (which doesn’t seem worth the paper it’s written on as it doesn’t cover anything by the seems of it). I contested this and emailed twice, not receiving any response in over 2 weeks. I then phoned and was told to email someone else who subsequently didn’t apologise for the non-response for 2 weeks and clearly didn’t want to know just saying we have provided you with a quote and advised what was wrong. I don’t think saying that something is cracked and not faulty is a reason and there wasn’t any reasoning as to why the panel had suddenly exploded and cracked in the middle of the night without any intervention. I asked again what the reason was why it failed and they said that it was either hit or was caused by an “act of god”! Now considering there was no point of impact I struggle to see how it had suddenly exploded and cracked.

I certainly would not recommend this company, they are unprofessional, have poor time management and don’t want to take any responsibility for any issues which arise after fitting.

A shambles of a company.

I have used Henley Glass for years and i would recommend them any day to anyone. They are professional. polite, highly skilled and take the time and trouble to really listen to your requirements. Simon and Liam are excellent at their job and deserve praise for their very hard work ethic and excellent skill set. They both work extremely hard and always aim to please their customers. Henley is very lucky to have such a valuable resource in the town centre. I go to Henley glass for a number of different problem solving equations ! from mirroring portholes, to building cabinets or adjustments on awkward quirky ephemera as well as picture framing which they also do an excellent job at. Could not recommend highly enough.
