They constantly cannot figure out where…
They constantly cannot figure out where they put the data that is sent to them. I think I have uploaded receipts and letters numerous times. Even if you have an HSA card, which each charge, you have to submit all the documentations over and over again. It is nothing but headaches. Too bad my employer chose this company. I have chosen not to invest in the HSA next year due to all the issues.
Tried to refill a recurring prescription and transaction marked as fraud and card frozen for up to 5 days
Tried to refill a prescription at a pharmacy that I’ve used multiple times. Card was declined in spite of having a substantial balance, then the transaction was marked as fraud so my card was frozen. Called their 24/7 customer service line and was told the fraud department wasn’t open on weekends and it can also take up to 72 hours to resolve. So now I can’t fill a rather expensive prescription for up to 5 days since it’s a holiday weekend. Who on earth has a fraud department that’s closed weekends and holidays. Simply unbelievable. Health Equity customer service is the absolute worst.
This company is a complete scam
This company is a complete scam. Sharing this as both a heads up and a warning. This was in regard to my HSA. They charge a $4 monthly admin fee and a $1 paper statement fee, even if your balance is under $1,000. Then they hit you with a $25 fee just to close your account.
The customer service reps sound like they're reading from a script, robotic, unhelpful, and tried to make things as complicated as possible. I would never trust this company with my money again and definitely wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
TOTAL JUNK!
TOTAL JUNK!! Every single thing I have tried to pay for is DECLINED! I don't know what this card is even for!
They do as little as possible to…
They do as little as possible to communicate with their clients and to provide the services they claim to provide. One of the worst companies I've ever had to work with. Unfortunately, if I want an FSA account, they're my only option. They are incredibly aware of the issues they cause and they make zero effort to fix them. No notifications for addl documentation when needed, no notification when documentation isn't sufficient, they decline eligible purchases constantly, they do not reimburse when you're forced to pay out of pocket & submit for reimbursement (for eligible charges) and if they lock your card, good luck ever getting it reactivated. It has taken me several months & I'm out several $100 dollars with money sitting in my account being held hostage to their laziness & incompetence.
Extremely Disappointed with This Provider
It’s unfortunate that I have to leave a one-star review, but this company has consistently failed to meet even the most basic expectations of a flexible spending provider. Legitimate claims—including dental and vision visits—were repeatedly denied without just cause. The process to appeal or resubmit is intentionally burdensome, seemingly designed to discourage users and retain funds unfairly.
In my past experience with HSA and FSA plans, I’ve never encountered these kinds of issues—until this provider took control. Thankfully, I oversee our company’s benefits and have since transitioned us to a reputable provider. The difference has been night and day: claims are processed quickly and accurately, with no unnecessary red tape.
Unfortunately, I’m now assisting someone else who is experiencing the same problems with this company—this time over a routine, monthly medical checkup. Once again, it was wrongly denied.
This pattern of obstruction and denial raises serious concerns. A full audit of their practices would be entirely warranted.
I don't know how Healthequity is a BBB…
I don't know how Healthequity is a BBB company. I had an account of hellofurther and then they merged to Healthequity and my trouble begin. Last time I managed my account by login hellofurther then link to healthequity which couldn't do anymore. I tried to login and unsuccessful. I called them 5 times within a month period. The customer keeps telling me the same thing and ask me to update my email and wait 24hrs-48hrs to receive reset password email which never happen. They wasted so much my time and effort for login.
Wageworks HealthEquity stole my money
Wageworks HealthEquity did everything they could to prevent you from using your own money in your account for your medical expenses so that they could steal it from you. I used my HSA card for my doctor visits and HealthEquity asked for all kinds of receipts and after I submitted the receipts, they continued to ask for letters from my doctors explaining why I need to go to my doctors. It’s ridiculous that it’s my own money that I put in my HSA account and they questioned me and tried to prevent me from using my own money for my medical expenses so they could steal it. With all the hassles of paperwork they required, I just paid them to stop wasting my time and to get my account reinstated. A few months later, I couldn’t use my card for my doctor visit anymore. I called them to find out my money over $2000 in my account had been forfeited. I did ask them if my money would rollover every year if not used or it’d be forfeited, and they said it’d rollover, so I didn’t care to check the deadline of the forfeiture. But it turned out they stole my money after giving me all kinds of excuses of required papers.
The worst company and the worst…
The worst company and the worst customer service. More than 10 calls and they don't know anything. I can't access my account, it's blocked. They tell me I have to wait. In short, they haven't been able to resolve the issue yet. Horrible.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Good luck getting your money rolled to another HSA trustee. They will do everything in their power to prevent you from doing this (they obviously don’t want to give up the float interest and investment management fees) including locking your account. It all started when I called to ask about transferring my HSA funds to a new account . When I got off the call, all of the sudden I couldn’t log into my account. I consistently got the same “forbidden” error message when I attempted to login from that point forward. Calls to customer service resulted in super long waits and suggestions like “refresh your browser.“ I was also told there was nothing that they could do to unlock my account as “they’ve taken that ability away from the customer service agents.” They suggested I wait five hours and try again. Did this several times with the same outcome. Still can’t access my money and it’s been weeks. This company is a joke. Avoid at all costs.
I have had my login failure and account…
I have had my login failure and account got locked for over a month. The Help Desk can't solve my problem due to the reset password page problem. I even sent the support with screen shots but still no solution for my simple login issue. It is the worst online support ever!
Charges a 4-dollar maintenance fee…
Charges a 4-dollar maintenance fee every month and will deplete your account in years. Sounds like a scam. Be aware.
Site is broken and staff not good or smart
Site is broken- unable to create a new account. Called customer service and spoke to 5 different people- all who were unable to help since they did not know what to do besides asking me to "retype my name, birthdate, and social security." They said they will send me an email to reset the account. 2 days have gone by- crickets. I suspect they don't know how to. I spent 3 hours in the past 2 weeks and was still unable to create a new account. I regret doing HSA with health equity.
Horrible
Horrible. Can't log in, their verification process doesn't work, and they take 40% of the money in fees and administrative charges.
Won't be re-upping next year.
It is not worth the time, aggravation, and 40% of the money, which is MORE than the taxes you supposedly save by using it, which completely defeats the purpose.
The absolute worst
Legitimately the worst experience I've ever had with any financial institution. I had 3 unknown transactions on my HSA card that I've called so many times to get help with. They kept sending me back and forth between departments until I eventually gave up. I lost almost $1000 because they simply refused to help. They also have yet to send me a new card despite so many requests to do so. It's hard to describe how much I hate this company, and if you're an employer considering using them, just know the things you'll be distracting your employees with.
This is the least secure and worst…
This is the least secure and worst user-facing service and app on the planet.
My account has been compromised/hacked twice with hackers trying to pull funds from the account, and it is impossible for me to update my login credentials via the “forgot password” feature which is the only way to update a password after news about security breaches or password leaks.
There should be a formal investigation…
There should be a formal investigation of this company. It cant be legit. They repeatedly denied allowing me to use my HSA funds from 5 attempts with providers. Each claim was unpaid. I never had any issues with previous HSA administrators ever. I get the impression this is another company that is likely owned by the industry related entities who are driving American health care costs through the roof and making an exorbitant amount of money off the people. Not only did they deny the funds usage, but their fees are outrageous. They charge $3.95/month for administrative fees, $1.95 for paper billing, a replacement card fee, $25 is automatically withheld to cover closing a HSA account. I never received the card and would have had to pay for a replacement. Of the $160 they administered for approx 8 months, they kept $64.73 in fees. They kept 40% in admin fees. I only got use of $95 of my own money. Outrageous.
Don't trust this company with your $
Isn't it frustrating when you have a horrible experience with a company and then you come to Trustpilot, only to find that the company is a fraud?
I had the Premium Transit check Metrocard "BENEFIT" through pre-tax payroll deduction. I did not get the metrocard in the mail for the month of March of the current year. After several phonecalls and emails, this company does not want to respond for this missing card, no reimbursement has been or will be issued.
I spoke with a supervisor, who said that they do not send cards in the mail, it is a reloadable service. I told her that this is not what I was getting, she kept saying that the service doesn't work like that... Anyway, speaking with a supervisor is as useless as speaking to a customer service agent. She also said that she filled out a complaint, apparently I'm not the only person who has gone through this situation... Seriously? So, this is a well known issue?
What a sad and frustrating situation, we are trusting these companies with our money, and they are just not complying the way they're supposed to.
The Company has zero customer service
I have never been able to use the service to pay for any medical bills. After confirming your identity over the phone, customer service is unable to restore account access, make changes to any user account information (email/phone number), advise of investment balance, or tell you your account number over the phone. They charge a monthly account fee, account closure fee, statement printing fees, as well as about 30 other misc fees. They pay no meaningful interest on cash balance. The service is totally and completely useless. Use any other HSA provider.
Horrible FSA company to deal with
Forced to use this FSA provider because my company I work for changed to them 3 years ago. Would give them 0 stars if it were possible. Horrible website and capability to submit reciepts. When you do submit receipts that they are asking for it doesn't show you what you've submitted they just go into a black hole and you have no idea what was submitted or not submitted you have to keep track yourself. You also don't know if the FSA expense they are asking for receipts for is all set once approved, you have to go logon yourself to check. On top of that they are so so picky about receipts. Our previous FSA Healthplan provider before Health Equity was nothing like this. Other complaint I have is about their website logging you out if there's no activity for like 10min, that's ridiculous. If you call their customer service prepare yourself to get a lecture about submitting receipts and what the mandated requirements are. Having an FSA account with these people is like having a part-time job on top of my FT job because you have to go bother your providers for all kinds of special reciepts. RIDICULOUS!!
