This is the worst bank. They have unnecessary hidden charges, and penalties keep getting deducted on one pretext or another. I was trying to pay my credit card bill, but they blocked all payment options. Then the next month, they increased my ₹6,000 bill to over ₹11,000 and charged it. Apart from this, they keep deducting money from my savings account as well. Truly the worst bank.

Frustrating With HDFC customer service
I recently received an HDFC credit card, but I am unable to use it because the bank requires the PayZapp app to access or manage the card. Unfortunately, the PayZapp app is not compatible with my device, and there is no alternative way to access or activate the card.
This situation is extremely frustrating because HDFC performed a hard inquiry on my credit report and issued the card, but I cannot use it due to their app restrictions. A banking product should not be limited to a single mobile app, especially when the app does not support many devices.
Customers should have alternative options such as web access, customer service activation, or other secure methods to manage their credit cards.
I request HDFC to provide an alternative way to access and use the credit card or remove the inquiry and card record from my credit history if the service cannot be used.
This experience has been very disappointing and needs immediate resolution.

I would like to share my feedback regarding my recent experience with HDFC Home Loan.
Unfortunately, the overall process was very slow and frustrating. The review stage took more than one and a half months, causing unnecessary delays for my property transaction.
Even though I provided all required documents to the London HDFC team, the review team repeatedly asked for the same documents, instead of coordinating directly with the London team. This resulted in repeated back-and-forth communication and wasted a significant amount of time.
One of the main concerns was that queries were raised almost every week, instead of reviewing the application thoroughly and providing all queries in one go. This compounded the delays and added unnecessary stress.
In my opinion, the review process could be improved with better coordination and more efficient document checking. It would also be helpful if the review team received additional training to ensure applications are assessed more efficiently and queries are consolidated, rather than being raised one by one over several weeks.
I have always believed that HDFC is one of the most reputable and professional banks, which is why this experience was quite disappointing.
However, I would like to acknowledge that Mr. Jinay Patel, Branch Manager at the Nadiad Branch in Gujarat, India, was extremely helpful and supportive throughout the process, and his assistance was greatly appreciated.
I hope this feedback helps improve the home loan review process for future applicants.

My experience with HDFC Bank as an existing home loan customer has been extremely disappointing and raises serious concerns about the bank’s fairness toward long-standing borrowers.
Despite maintaining a clean repayment record and demonstrating responsible financial conduct over the years, the bank continues to charge me 7.55% interest, while at the same time offering significantly lower rates around 7.15% to new borrowers in the market.
This kind of differential treatment sends a very troubling message — loyal existing customers appear to be treated as captive borrowers, while attractive rates are selectively offered only to new customers to expand business.
I personally approached the branch and also raised the matter with bank officials requesting a rational review of the interest rate. However, the response has been extremely rigid and mechanical, simply stating that the system shows this as the “lowest available rate” without providing any transparent justification.
Such responses only reinforce the perception that the bank prefers system excuses over genuine customer service. For an institution of this scale, this approach reflects poorly on its commitment to fairness and transparency.
If established customers with good repayment history are denied the same competitive rates available in the market, it effectively punishes loyalty and forces customers to consider moving their loans elsewhere.
Unless this matter is addressed in a fair and transparent manner, I will be compelled to escalate the issue with the Reserve Bank of India under the RBI Ombudsman Scheme, and also examine legal remedies through the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for unfair and discriminatory practices.
I sincerely hope the bank reflects on how such policies damage customer trust and reputation.

tried to contact the toll-free customer care because an extra EMI was deducted from my account. I waited and tried connecting for almost 3 hours, but the call did not go through.
I When I finally got connected, the representative said the issue was related to a home loan. I clearly told them that I do not have a home loan. Instead of helping, they asked me to call again and then disconnected the call.
This was a very frustrating experience. The customer service was not helpful, and resolving such issues should not take this much effort

Actually I can't even give one star for the terrible banking sevice that HDFC Bank has provided me. They blocked my account that had more than 27 lakhs of balance without intimating me. And I am a preferred customer of HDFC. What more great service can you expect. Worse than third class. Terrible harassment and need to be taken to court
