Outstanding specialist medical care at…
Outstanding specialist medical care at London Bridge / Olaf house. Prof Macarthy is caring, extremely knowledgeable and reassuring. From one year ago to now I am very blessed to have been his patient through open heart surgery. To be honest he spotted my issue and saved my life. What more can I say. Eternally grateful on behalf of me and my family. Everyone I met at HCA have been kind, caring and excellent across their different roles.

Positive experience minor procedure
I attended my appointment with Mr Combes for a cyst on my eyelid, as we wanted to rule out the possibility of a basal cell carcinoma.
From the very beginning, Mr Combes made me feel completely at ease. He explained everything calmly, clearly, and in great detail, so I always knew exactly what was going to happen and never had any doubts. His reassuring manner and excellent communication made the whole experience much less stressful.
The minor procedure itself was very straightforward. I had expected it to be quite uncomfortable because of the delicate location on my eyelid, but it was much easier than I anticipated. Thankfully, the cyst turned out to be benign.
One thing I particularly appreciated was that Mr Combes continuously talked me through what he was doing during the procedure. As your eyes are closed and you naturally feel quite vulnerable, hearing each step explained was incredibly reassuring.
I would also like to mention the reception staff, who were always welcoming, smiling, and accommodating. The clinic was spotless, and the communication before my appointment was excellent, with detailed emails and information letters explaining everything clearly.
Overall, I have no complaints at all. I am extremely happy with the care I received and would highly recommend Mr Combes and his team.

Hopeless experience with dr Andrew…
Hopeless experience with dr Andrew Sankey at Lister. He turned up to the office at 10.40am for a 10.30am appointment. There was no apology or recognition of this. No prior warning he was running late - no communication. Instead he jumped on another zoom call instead of seeing me (presumably because he thought he could make some extra fees from zoom call while I waited). I was then told he would be a further 30 mins. So he would see me at 11.10am for a 10.30am booking. He received a very abrupt reply from me. Not a dr to use if you want any sensible client service - there are plenty of other ones to use. Hope this helps others.

The Wellington South hospital was excellent. They catered for all my needs. Everything was explained in full and my 11 night stay was a very relaxing time despite facing spinal surgery. All staff were kind, patient and helped me get through it all. Highly recommend .

Excellent, high quality experience
My urgency surgery at the Lister Hospital was a stressful affair after being admitted same day but the quality of the care, the professionalism and kindness of the nursing staff and the high quality consultant left me feeling well recovered only a day after admission. High quality care and teams in action

Fantastic care throughout visit
Fantastic care including registration, the consultant Sundip Patel in particular, but also his P.A and the nurses doing the blood tests and the health care professional fitting the heart monitor. Courteous and kind, efficient and reassuring throughout the experience.

From the moment I walked through the doors of The Harborne Hospital, I felt I was in exceptionally safe hands.
I attended for a gastroscopy after several weeks of worrying gastrointestinal symptoms and, although I tried not to show it, I was extremely anxious. I have a longstanding throat phobia and had built the procedure up in my mind to be something I dreaded. Every single member of staff I encountered recognised how nervous I was and treated me with kindness, patience and genuine compassion.
The reception staff were welcoming and reassuring, the healthcare assistants and nurses were warm, attentive and incredibly professional, and I never once felt like I was being rushed or that my anxiety was an inconvenience. They took the time to explain each step, answer my questions and continually checked that I was comfortable.
One moment that particularly stood out was when the team recognised how anxious I had become and arranged for my procedure to be brought forward. That simple act of kindness made a huge difference and demonstrated that they weren’t just following a schedule—they were looking after a person.
The hospital itself is outstanding. Everything is modern, spotless, calm and beautifully maintained. The environment immediately gives you confidence that you’re receiving care in a first-class facility. Even while waiting, the atmosphere felt organised and reassuring rather than hectic or stressful.
After the procedure, I was looked after brilliantly in recovery. The nursing staff were attentive without being intrusive, regularly checked on me, ensured I was comfortable and made sure I understood what would happen next. I felt genuinely cared for throughout my stay.
Healthcare is often remembered not just for the treatment itself, but for how people make you feel during what can be one of the most vulnerable days of your life. The team at The Harborne Hospital should be incredibly proud of the standard of care they provide. They combine outstanding professionalism with genuine warmth and empathy, which is a rare and invaluable combination.
Thank you to everyone involved in my care. You transformed what I thought would be one of the most frightening medical experiences of my life into one that was calm, dignified and reassuring. I would not hesitate to recommend The Harborne Hospital to anyone seeking outstanding private healthcare in the West Midlands.

The Harley Street Clinic… paying in advance.
The Harley Street Clinic…. The clinical staff are excellent. However, we were forced to pay in advance on a debit card, for a procedure that I ended up not needing. Over three weeks later we are still waiting for over £1,450 to be refunded to us. Numerous phone calls later, being continually told the payment is being processed, there is still no sign of our money and the Refunds team don’t answer the phone. The Helpdesk team are courteous, but have a limited remit.
