Review of HCAH

Review of HCAH, Kolkata Center - April 2026
I am writing this review in the hope that it serves as constructive feedback for improving patient care at this facility, which Kolkata desperately needs.
Previous Experience (September 2024):
My father stayed at this facility for approximately one month in September 2024, and we had a very positive experience. The quality of care was excellent, due in large part to the dedication and professionalism of his attending nurse, Ms. Bonoshree. Her attentive care and compassion made a significant difference in my father’s recovery and our family’s confidence in the facility.
Recent Experience (April 2026):
Based on our positive experience with my father, we admitted my mother to this facility in April 2026. Unfortunately, we encountered a significant decline in the quality of service and patient care during this stay:
• Ms. Bonoshree was no longer with the facility (we were unable to locate her)
• Overall nursing care and attention were substantially below the standard we experienced previously
• Communication with staff was poor
• The level of attentiveness and professionalism had noticeably deteriorated
Concerns and Recommendations:
Kolkata has very limited options for quality rehabilitation facilities, which makes the standards and consistency of care at existing facilities critically important. Based on our contrasting experiences, I have the following concerns:
1. Staff Retention: The loss of dedicated, skilled nursing staff like Ms. Bonoshree represents a significant decline in quality of care. Retaining experienced, compassionate caregivers should be a top priority.
2. Care Before Billing: Patient care must remain the primary focus, not revenue generation. When families entrust their loved ones to your facility, they expect consistent, high-quality care regardless of when they arrive.
3. Quality Control: There appears to be no systematic monitoring of care standards. The dramatic difference between our two experiences suggests a lack of consistent oversight and quality assurance.
Appeal to Management:
I am sharing this feedback not to criticize, but because I genuinely want this facility to succeed and improve. Kolkata needs reliable, high-quality rehabilitation centers. However, if the current trajectory continues—prioritizing billing over care, losing skilled staff, and allowing service standards to decline—this facility risks losing the trust of the community it serves.
I urge the management to:
• Invest in retaining experienced, compassionate nursing staff
• Implement consistent quality control and monitoring systems
• Prioritize patient care over financial considerations
• Act now before the facility’s reputation is irreparably damaged
The people of Kolkata deserve better, and this facility has demonstrated it is capable of providing that level of care. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call to return to those standards.

Unacceptable Caretaker Hygiene and Misleading Assurancesperience with HCAH was extremely…

My experience with HCAH was extremely disappointing, especially in terms of hygiene and cleanliness and care-givers. The standards maintained were far below what one would expect from a healthcare service provider. Basic sanitation protocols seemed to be ignored, and the environment did not feel safe or properly maintained. This is particularly concerning given that hygiene is non-negotiable in healthcare. I had to take my patient out and admit him back to a hospital to get him treated from all the severe infections caused at HCAH only due to lack of hygiene and poorly trained nurses / attendantrs. House maids are better than the nurses at HCAH. Total wastage of money. Additionally, the team tends to make overly optimistic promises and unrealistic timelines just to get patients admitted. Unfortunately, the actual service delivery does not match these commitments. Please dont go there .. its a trap !

Worst experience!

Horrible experience. I had hired a caretaker for my 91 year old grandfather who just got discharged from the hospital. They initially took money for 15 days saying they only accept advance. BY promising to send someone from closeby, they sent someone who stays 60kms away (We stay in Santacruz and the caretaker came from Virar). He came for 2 days and was nice. On day 2 at 11.45PM - he messages saying he wont come tomorrow. On asking what is the issues, there is no response. He states that he has informed the company and I should connect with them. On Day 3, I am left helpless. The company wastes 3-4 hours of mine on co-ordination and says they have arranged a replacement who will come from Day 4. I reconfirm everything with the replacement and he says yes. On Day 4, no one shows up. Again called HCAH and spent an hour, they have no answers and they say we have arranged another replacement. The 2nd replacement calls after an hour to give rubbish reasons to not be able to locate the house, wastes another 45 mins.
At the end, I asked them for a cancellation and refund (except for initial 2 days). HCAH has no remorse of this entire incident. No apologies for the trauma caused to the patient and family. No concern for the time wasted on co-ordination. I would say its better to take a leave from office and do the work yourself rather than frying your brain co-ordinating with such an agency. The sales team makes big promises about service, but falls heavily short when such a situation arises.
For reference, my sales person was Jayant and operations person was Shivani.

Pathetic services by HCAH

You app is taking incorrect title. The review is about HCAH not Meesho. HCAH acquired Nightingales a year back and now their services are pathetic. I am using their services and hence aware of the same. They replace with no match and you keep calling them and they don't care to respond. Don't contact unless you want to waste your money

Terrible and Worst experience ever

Terrible and Worst experience ever. If there was an Option to give Less than 1 star I would. DO NOT USE THEM! You will be duped. We used them for my Dad who is 98 years Old and fairly mobile. They quoted a Price of Rs.950 per day, if we prepay for a Month. My Mother paid them in Advance . As soon as she paid them they changed the Price to Rs. 1100 per day. The Care Giver they send had a Nasty Attitude and was always on the Phone. Finally my Parents had to call the Police to help them get their refund. Please DO NOT USE THEM.

Pathetic service

Pathetic service. Their caregivers are not dependable and capable of siphoning money from the elderly person with no action being taken on reporting to HCAH. Also, they tend to keep the customer at ransom by hiking their charges by more than 20% without any prior intimation and threaten the customers to withdraw their caregiver without any advance intimation.

Company cheats. Not trustworthy.

This Company cheats the clients in payment. With me, they took extra payment of ₹25,000 by depositing my PDC even after the Service package was over.. I requested for annual. payment record for the last year which would have proved their fraud, however, they are not even taking my calls now. Their service is also not very good as they always provide Staff hired from third-party and apparently don’t have any staff on their payroll.

Irresponsibility of the service provider HCAH

1. As a service provider, HCAH are least concerned about the progress of the on-going service. Even after repeated request for replacement, HCAH did not even bother to check our requirements.
2. HCAH contacted us only at the end of the service to persuade us to extend/renew the service.
3. The caregiver, Ms. Kavita, was good but never on time. She used to be late by at least 30 minutes every day. However, she was good at handling the patient. She was kind to the patient and did her job satisfactorily.
4. The caregiver was absent for 3 days and HCAH promised to extend the service by 3 more days, but they did not do.

Fraud Company that you need to keep…

Fraud Company that you need to keep chasing.

Forget any type of service if you book these guys. The staff is untrained and has no medical knowledge. They didn't even know how to operate a BP machine and we had to teach everything. Will take random offs without informing and then you keep chasing their support team which is non-existent.

Don't use this service if you care about your elders.

This is a fraud organization

This is a fraud organization. I had the worst experience dealing with these people.I wouldn't recommend this to anyone .First they sweet talk and get payment .Payment was failed twice and amount of 20000 was debited .The person said amount will be refunded in 10 days .I still haven't received a refund after 15 days in spite of following up with team . Then they asked me to pay gpay which was successful since I was in urgent need of caretaker .
After that they asked me to sign a consent form which includes consenting for ALL their services like the person can record you for educational purposes, the person can access your medical records and speak to doctor etc .I said I do not consent to any of those ,since for caretaker he doesn't need to record and asked them to provide a consent form just for caretaking ,they said it is a combined form and service cannot be provided until consent is signed .Meanwhile the caretaker arrives at my house .He has no clue what he is supposed to do .We asked for 24*7 .You would expect that caretaker would atleast know that ,he was like I don't know I was asked to come here ,don't know how long I am staying . Communication was a problem too he understood only hindi cannot read or write English ,He cannot be trusted with ensuring that right meds are taken by patient .I am still asking them for my money back

Nightingale HCAH is very poor at…

Nightingale HCAH is very poor at arranging substitutes. They make us run around even if we give enough adequate advance notice and send very sub standard replacement. Both last time and this time they promised a qualified nursing attender but sent someone who was neither willing nor able to manage a wheelchair patient. There is no merit in the profiles they put up, and the skillsets they mention vs the actual person who shows up.
This substitute came in the evening and wanted to leave by night even without someone else coming to replace her. I convinced her that we will help her with handling the patient, inspite of that she just left at 630am without waiting for a replacement. she was extremely unsupportive, and the coordinator doesnt take my calls. I have to literally chase him down.
I need better customer service for the money I am paying these guys.
This is inspite of my using their services for over 6 years now.
I am extremely disappointed.

Best Center and quickest recovery I have ever seen

My husband has Parkinson disease and was treated with DBS surgery on 11/09/2024. He stayed in the hospital for two months and was discharged on 09/11/2024. Immediately we went to Suvitas Rehabilitation Center where he was received for post-operative care including Physiotherapy and swallow/Speech therapy mainly. Two weeks now in the center but the health of my husband is getting better significantly. Now he can eat properly, he speaks well and he walks using a walker. The team in Suvitas Rehabilitation Center is so professional.
What was amazing is the time-line we were given when we arrived in the center.. It is respected or even the results are in advance.
Being an international guest, I was worried that we will be strangers and ignored. But the hospitality and care is on top.
I strongly recommend neurological patients to go to Suvitas Rehabilitation Center where their health will be well taken care of and the recovery will be quick and guaranteed.

Poor knowledge and ethics

The staff seem to have no medical experience or ethical training. A nursing staff Mahantesh came to assess my elderly mother and called her a 'psychopath' because of deteriorating mental health conditions, expected in 85-year old persons. After that diagnosis, none of the staff responded to my calls or messages. Shocking! Would not advise to use.

Dr. Aastik Bhatt too provided us the requirement of a paralytic patient along with what best suits them and why. The unit is maintained well coupled with cleanliness, prompt response and friendly environment.
